**DISCLAIMER** The comments about sim league owners ARE NOT directed at Riot, who runs the sim league I'm currently in. Just clarifying. There are other things that apply though
Typical Americans
Before you all start throwing leftover hot dogs at the computer screen and waving the flag while singing the national anthem, keep reading... generally I get along well with Americans on the internet, I've known alot of them and about 60% of them are alright and not generally what people expect... however... in sim leagues this all seems to change. Instead of the cool, more relaxed Americans we get a bunch of hyped up 12 year old wiggers who think they know everything. They're the ones who IM you on AIM with "team?" or "trade in (league)?"... seriously, a hello can't hurt can it? They're also the ones who call you an idiot for not wanting to trade your star player for a 2nd round draft pick and the worst contract in the league. They're the ones who put "izzle" on the end of every single word and think they're cool doing it.
This fucking drives me insane. Being the literate person I am it annoys the hell out of me to see these wankers who've all decided their the second coming of 2Pac posting about how their mid-table team is going to dominate the league. There's really not too much you can do about these idiots because they're fuckin everywhere, I mean we could hope that they all just randomly drop dead but unfortunately I don't think that's going to happen. I guess if we took away their internet connection we would face yet another problem... these losers are also habitual nerds. They know shit about computers, because they have no lives and tend to take out their lack of on-court skill on the computer. These people all need to die painful deaths
The Rapists
These are the ones who make retarded trades and then get pissed off when people try and veto it. This happens alot in Riots league, well to be fair it's generally just the one person but we'll ignore it for the sake of this post. They IM absolutely everyone they can think of and just offer random trades in the hope that one of them will be intoxicated, retarded or just plain stupid. 90% of the time these people end up being very successful and you don't hear the end of it until they realize all of the brilliant players they got were expirings and now they're stuck with shit players for the next season.
Another problem with these idiots is that they're about as arrogant as you can get. For some unexplained reason they think they're the best thing in existance because they made a good trade and are now sitting 3rd or something. It's a fucking sim league, who gives a shit? If I wanted to be surrounded by bragging 12 year olds who still wet the bed I'd go to a fuckin midget fashion show. Losers. Then again when you get home from a hard day at school being bashed up for being a complete tool, you're bound to feel alot better when you find out you've just traded for a player that'll give you an extra 3ppg and has a more known name then your other guys
Corrupt Owners
As I said in the disclaimer this hasn't happened in Riots league, he's one of the better owners (if not a bit slow at updating, otherwise all good)... but it does happen. These are the people that choose their team before anyone else and then take it upon themselves to upgrade the ratings for everyone in the league to make the game more realistic. Sounds fair right? Yeah sure it is, and while Vitaly Potapenko is averaging 25/10 I'm sure everyone will just admire his new form and ignore the massive increase in his ratings. They also sort of fit into the above category, i.e making ridiculous trades but they never seem to get veto'd because why? Because they're the owners.
It does seem pretty interesting to me how someone can win multiple championships in a row with an All-Star roster while being the owner of the league and for no one to get suspiscious. It's just plain dodgy... and way too many of them exist. They're not usually the 12 year olds I mentioned above, most of them are like 15 or something so they've got a 3 year mental advantage over the midgets. They use this to take advantage of the biggest morons in the league, and they know who they are because again they're the owners. Another thing to notice is, if a sim mysteriously "goes missing" this roughly translates into "I did the sim but my team lost 10 in a row so I didn't save it"... they too need to be shot.
AIM Terrorists
Sim leagues have destroyed my AIM list. I've got people that I was in sim leagues from 3 years ago IM'ing me to ask what team I am and who I want to trade. The reason for this is because they're all fucking idiots... buddy lists are the dumbest thing to ever happen in the history of anything. I'm so sick of logging onto AIM and automatically getting "team?" straight away. You losers have ruined my list. Not only is it a constant annoyance it also makes me look like a fag having all of these morons with wrestling user names in my list. It's like pulling teeth sometimes talking to these people, I bet if I were a girl they'd be as nice as possible before inevitably asking for cyber sex. Geeks.
The main reason I can't stand this group is because they're all mentally draining to talk to. It's like being stuck in a room with MikeBibby talking ghetto and a bunch of other people debating about the war. Boring as all fuck. Apparentely the art of the one word reply has not been lost completely, it's still well and truely alive with the people who add you to their list. Not only do they take 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back, they also manage to completely forget I'm the GM they spoke to 2 hours ago. There's people who I've spoken to on AIM at least 5 times who still don't know which team I'm running, again because they're fucking retards. I'm thinking of choosing a different team every time just to give myself some minor entertainment.
That's my rant over, if anyone's got anything to add just do it... I'm pretty sure we've all been involved in a sim league at some point, and anyone who has knows I'm right about this.
