did anyone catch this guy on the olympics? he's the american gymnast seeking to be the first all-around gold medalist in usa gymnastics history. anyways him and this chinese guy (yang wei or something) were heavily favoured to win.. after the first 2 exercises, they were both tied in first place and it seemed like they were going to be clear cut winners.. on the 4th exercise hamm screwed up badly in his vault routine where he landed awkwardly and landed by the judges.. this dropped him to 12th place while yang was still first.. meanwhile the koreans were the most consistant gymnasts in this event and they were landing everything and making little errors.. hamm had 2 more exercises (parallel bars and highbar).. he was almost perfect on the 1st one getting a 9.837 which bumped him up among the standings.. after that yang made a big error on his highbar (he slipped and let go) routine where he scored a 8.9 or something like that (that's realllllly low) .. this bumped hamm to 4th place with a chance to medal.. commentators were saying it was possible for him to get a bronze but had a very slim chance to get gold.. anyways on his last routine he pulled through and scored another 9.837 edging out the koreans by a 12th thousand of a point.. it was unbelievable.. being in 1st then dropping to 12th then bouncing right back up to 1st.. what a way to win gold :D
