You're my hero, I can't wait for Madden, I wonder if they'll improve on the already sick Franchise Mode?
Fri Apr 09, 2004 1:49 pm
I found them at football-gaming.com, if they change two things it will be perfect. The long time it takes from when you press throw, to when the QB throws, and if you can adjust how much money the players makes each year (ie. make it the same ammount every year, or make more money at the beginning of the contract)

Most changes to do with graphics aren't the actual graphics themselves but that animations flow better, the jerseys move more with the player, and the weather can change during a game.

have you checked out ea's site for madden 2005 yet? they have added franchise tags, all draft choices will be announced during the draft, players now have morale which effects how they play, and how they react to other players situations like not enough catches or playing time etc. there will be preseason competition for starting spots if players are close in rating, so if you decide to start your 80 ovr rookie over your 84 ovr veteran after the veteran won the job in preseason, it will affect your teams morale as well as the veteran who should start. there's newspapers for every team, there is the tony romo (i think that's his name) radio show which talks about all the things happening in the league and even has players, fans and coaches calling in. you will also get emails from staff and players about personal and team stuff, there is a new create a fan option for customizing those rooting for you. 2005's franchise mode will clearly be the most realistic that madden has ever had. oh, the cpu will also trade up and down DURING the draft, and will now cut dead weight players and sign free agents to fill needs, as opposed to how they will carry 4 centers, five hb's 4 qb's and three fs's now. you can also now change players positions officially and they will progress based on their new assigned positions, so those slow safety's can be used as lb's, and those speedy de's can be switched to lb too.

The switching thing will be so useful. It's like how Oakland has switched Ray Buchanon from corner to safety. And sometimes it's nice to switch a wr to cb or cb to wr if you think they'll do better.
The radio show host's name is Tony Bruno and I remmeber reading somewhere that they have recorded voice of all 32 nfl head coaches! There is a newspaper now where you can read about opinions on how you handled that weeks game. All news relating to you will be sent to your "pda" so you only have to check one screen instead of multiple ones. PLayers will also send e-mails to you to complain about not getting enough throws, catches, runs, etc.

That game seems like they can never improve it because it is so good but the next year they do something new. Along with NBA Live. Good work EA

exactly, i think the cpu trades during the draft is the most interesting to me because it will show how much the cpu logic has improved. if it's just where every team will offer something to move into the top of the first round to go after the best rookies then it won't be that major, but if a team at 21 wants to move to 15 to get a player they need that has dropped but won't fall to 21 and they offer some extra picks to swap places then i think the game will increase in replay value and it may be easier to stick with one franchise longer. i'm crossing my fingers that they will also have teams draft players and then trade them elsewhere during the draft, like with rivers and manning.
and with the position switch it already makes me want to keep players around longer to develope them, than to draft a new player the next year to replace a disappointing one.

I believe M2005 is going to surpass M2004. A while back ago I read an article about Madden 2005 taking the idea of players emailing you, and such from MVP Baseball. I've played MVP baseball and to be honest with you the graphics are astonishing, a very very nice dynasty mode --- yes indeed, however when I go check the inbox I see "so many emails" from players, marketing, staff, owner, etc it makes me crazy to go through every single one of them. The emails that I most hate are the ones from players complaining about lack of playing time and low salary. It drives me nut. Hopefully Madden 2005 is nothing like that.
