When you subtract the digits it becomes a multiple of nine.

9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81 all have the same symbol everytime. and when you use that formular on any number from 10~19, you get 9; when you use that formular on any number from 20~29, you'll get 18...and so on. that's how it works. clever for someone to think that up.

ehm, it didn't work...

That makes sense. But get this, i decided to skip the whole numbers thing and just pick a number at random, it took about 10 goes b4 it got 1 wrong!!
That was freaky!

Try this one. It gets me every time too.

It should since it removes all the cards it showed before and displays different ones.

Your subtracting the two digits from the number, right? Look at this way...

99-9 = 90...90 - 9 = 81
98-8 = 90...90 - 9 = 81
97-7 = 90...90 - 9 = 81

94-4 = 90...and 90 - 9 = 81

77 - 7 = 70...and 70 - 7 = 63

74 - 4 = 70...and 70 - 7 = 63...

You'll always get a multiple of nine...because when you subtract the last digit you get a multiple of 10 (47 - 7...46 - 6...etc)...then you subtract the 10s value which will always be the same and thus for that group the number will always be the same. Take a close look at the symbol chart. All the multiples of 9 are always the same symbol

If you don't get that symbol...check your arithmetic.
