Hip Hop Stars Speak Out About Eminem

Postby Dramacydal on Sat Jan 24, 2004 5:34 am

Hip Hop representatives speak their mindz:

Mack 10:
white dudes can't say nigger, especially if they saying it in a negtive way. if he's saying, "that's my ngga, thats different. but if you saying it in a negative way, i ma think that shit is racist. then rap and everything go out the window

Crooked I:
I think the dude is an incredible lyricist, but if you're a racist, you get no support. if we support a racist, we cutting our own throat. if hes a racist like that, he gotta fall to the side. i want to seen on TV publicly apologising to Black women

Skillz:
if you say the word 'nigger' outta anger and frustration and call a girl a black bitch, i'm pretty sure you'll say it again. i don't think its not a word he hasn't used since then. bottom line is i don't appeciate eminem using thw word nigger. as soon as i read his statment, i knew something was fishy. he said he was dating a girl who was african american i've never heard him use the term african american in his whole life, which made the whole statement look suspect to me. its the clasic example of someone gettiing caught and being outta character when the try to explain themselves. it all sounds the same. sorta like his beats

Joe budden:
i don't know what the fuck is wrong with him. I love black women. you almost really do want to believe him, but that type of attitude really can't be excused, i don't care how old you were. i don't really know if it will affect his career, but i think he should apologize. i just hope he doesn't have those same views today

Freddie Foxxx:
the bottom line is this: the fact that eminem is white haven't have any reflection ib gun being a dope mc. but hes definitely equal to Elvis presely in a sense that elvis only thought that black people were good enough to either his servant, or anything in a type of servitude for him. his goal is to do better than the people he stole from. at the end of the day, what else do you expect from a white man? i'm sure he used the N-word a whole lot times outside of this

Styles P (LOX):
he's fucking teeth should have been knocked out- thats my reaction. but all the black people who are SUCKING his cock should be ASHAMED of themselves. if it was a black ngga they would have killed his ass. I can't say something too wrong cuz he on my label. if he aplogizes, it'll be aiight, if not, thats fucked up.

Bun B (UGK)
when did he realize he was WRONG for saying that? when he got caught? its no way that song should have been still out there like that. no body shoulda gotten a copy of that. if he didn't want o body to hear it, he should have never put it on record, he had 10 YEARS to FIND that tape.

Petey Pablo:
its a shocking situation cuz hes alwayz been a great MC to me and for this to be the case, he's like Elvis. i don't think you can really apologize for that cuz if you call me a nigger, then to me, that's always on your mind and thats what think about us and thats the way you look at me...

Malik Shabazz (New Black Panthr Party):
there's two standards for black & white celebrity figures when it comes to acts they have done- you have micheal jackson allergedly molesting children and he's being attacked with the full force of every media in the country... you have kobe bryant in the same situation, but with eminem- who is on tape making racist comments that reveal what he feels about black people-- everything is being surpressed... he can't be allowed to get away with mere retraction when the evidence on him is already in... his Black fans should remember this and it should reflect in his future record sales.

Esham:
8mile was full of so much garbage that its was crazy... hes just a racist and the whole movie has racist overtones. it was fictitious and, once again, he was just using the culture ansd twisting it up in his own little sick way for the masses

Nikki Giovanni:
i'm not a fan of eminem and it was a profound dissapointment, he had to know that ths was not acceptable and what he didn't expect is that somebody would say something to him. EMinem and the white boyz who want to do rap have to grow up. you are just not allowed to be BIGOT... its like he floated a ballon politically, ad he wanted to see who's gonna shoot ut down. now they're putting a spin on it like, i'm sorry,' somehow, young, white people seem to think they can do anything and then say 'i'm sorry'.. but that doesn't get it. it just doesn't get it..

SUGE KNIGHT (DEath Row Recordz CEO, And AMerrikan KnightMare):
first off, i'm definitely supporting the source on this one, because they have been REPRESENTING for HIP HOP sice day one. i'm not only faulting eminem but the people around him, who knew about this all along- including Dr. Dre. i don't support anyone who says they down with hip hop and is trying to defend this racist mofucka. i've watched beefs go on in hip hop where guys are ready to go to war with eachother and hold grudges for years, but this is way worse and some people are ready to dismiss it. my moms is black, my sister and daugters are black. there is no forgiving him.
...........................................................................................................

yeah rite, thats the way it is. and they all rite. this id for all you Eminem lovers who dont no shit about rap (Y)

Wow are those quotes real? Did people like Budden, Petey, and Suge actually say they're against him? I'm gonna have to check out this tape somehow, because I really don't know what they're talking about. I'm not surprised that Benzino would try to do something like this in attempt to end Em's career.

*sigh* Out of frustration he sang the song, it's been released now, after all these years, now he's seen as a racist...

It's wrong no doubt, but hell which rapper isn't wrong?

Drama, you preaching about Eminem fans not knowing shit about rap, I find is just extremely funny.

You frown upon eminem saying stuff like that, I do too...he's wrong, bottom line is, he's wrong right?

As is clearly shown in you avatar, you are a fan of Tupac Shakur, he was/is the best rapper ever, some say...but in the end, wasn't he a thug? A thug that could rhyme? A thug is sort of a criminal isn't he? One of wrong doing? Thus, being wrong? How can he be great, yet another rapper is unworthy of having fans and his fans are stupid?

In my opinion, you are also stupid, how could you like a thug?

All of us make mistakes, like you said, it was years ago + it was venting frustration...in no way do I support what he said, but you're comments really irritated me, as did his.

Good to be back.

Why's that? Cuz he has the balls to say something you don't? Cuz he has the balls to say something your mom doesnt like? I would like to know this...

(There is reason now, since he made such comments in a song...but you said, it's about time...what's he done before? Said something bout gay people? His opinion, whats your problem? Is he forcing his views upon you? Hell, Mr. Bush there is forbidding gay marriages and made it a mockery in his last speech... )

Bah, but it's ok for the rest of rappers to do that...

As everyone knows, I agree with Psycho Jackal's comments. Except the part after the quote. Especially this part:
Is he forcing his views upon you? Hell, Mr. Bush there is forbidding gay marriages and made it a mockery in his last speech...

No, he isn't. 3/4ths of the American population don't want gay marrage, and what Bush is saying is that if the activist judicial tyranny tries to legalize in the entire nation by invoking the marriage clause he will go to the states for a Constitutional Amendment specifying marriage as between a man and woman AND it will be ratified. So he's basically saying "don't make us waste resources to stop you radical judges from doing more things the majority opposes."

I personally think deviants should be able to pick up some of the things normal people get, like allowing to put their "spouse" under Insurance as if they were in a marriage and get half of the marriage tax credit if they stay together beyond five years, and all of it if they get past ten/fifteen years.

But back to Eminem...I think I can sum up most people's feelings on this in two words: Who cares?

I, as an american citizen, also don't want gay marriages, but I fail to understand the "hoo-haa" about gay bashing when it comes from Eminem...

I didn't mean Bush is a moron or anything, I also don't want gay marriages...but when Eminem says something (his views ofcourse) it's frowned upon...yet according to many americans, gays shudnt marry...thus supporting Mr Bush. See what I'm trying to say? Hyporcrites, Eminem is bad for gay bashing, but we agree with Mr. Bush for not wanting Gay marriages...

Drama here seems to care, or else he wouldn't have brought this to our attention...

He's a good rapper...whether you like his rappings or not is another thing...

I think the thing is, we don't mind them and we don't like them insulted. But we just don't want them to marry because that's crazy.

The whole controversy was probably just created to draw interest. Everyone knows they do these things to hype it up and then he rocks out with Elton John for more hype.

Of course, now I'm going back on "Who Cares?"

Like Eminem said, The Source magazine has had a vendetta over him for years. This guy traded disses with Benzino a year ago. Did anyone hear what Em said in "Nail In The Coffin". That was some serious shit and now The Source seems to be doing whatever they can to bring Shady down. I would be surprised if this even altered his career because everything Eminem touches turns to gold and the white suburban kids are in love with him.

Because the "N Word" has a history of hatred, oppression and cruelty attached to it when a white person uses it. It's recognised as an offensive word for white people to use, as it's been used as a derogatory remark for hundreds of years.

Though technically speaking, insulting a white person simply because they are white is racism, the definition of racism has changed somewhat over time. Mainly because we white people have been so racist in the past. But racism is basically the discrimination against a person or group of people due to their race. So any insults or violence against white people simply because of the colour of their skin is also racism; but needless to say, far less common than the discrimination and wrongdoing committed by white people.

So "cracker" and "white boy" are technically racist remarks when used in a derogatory manner, but they don't have that history of racial prejudice and injustice that the "N Word" does.

In my opinion, you are also stupid, how could you like a thug?

whats so stupid about liking the greatest rapper of all time? and pointing out he was a thug is nothin special, its kinda ridiculous cause he even had it on his stomach...and what has Pac to do with Eminem at all?

All of us make mistakes, like you said, it was years ago + it was venting frustration...in no way do I support what he said, but you're comments really irritated me, as did his.

yer i thought that might of been why, it really is a terible word to use no matter what, unless its used in the homie type of way i guess that rappers etc. use it in.
I cant beleive it was like that, im glad its gotten a bit better at least.

Assuming things are the worst thing to do on a forum, it's true Eminem used to be my favorite when I used to listen to rap...some people move on...(hint?) anyways;

yeah rite, thats the way it is. and they all rite. this id for all you Eminem lovers who dont no shit about rap

You said you didnt say anything, but in this quote, you are agreeing with what those rappers say, right? Notice you did write, yeah rite...again man, take a look at what you've written, instead of trying to change what's written.

I don't want it to be impressive, but if you fail to notice that you're saying something in one post, and something else in another post, I cannot have a discussion with you.

By the way, I like the first quote in your sig...
I rest my case.

Yes, I wish i had the balls to write a song about wanting to hit my mother or kill the mother of my child (if i had one heheh).
If eminem has the balls to say these things (amongst other crap), shouldnt he have the balls to stand behind what he's said as well? Or is he just dr dre's puppet?
