Yohance, what if I had a private club that didn't allow black people? Wouldn't that be discrimination? It's the same thing...

Yes!!! Finally...Man Bob, it must be a birthday coming up, because I agree with you
people should stay away from places in which they are not wanted.....
Bob and P are for the government to force Augusta to round up some females
If the private club didn't want me because i'm black..what right have i to say..let me in?It's their club...their house..their business.I should know to keep away or make my own club that excludes people who are not black.
Private means they can do as they like as long as they aren't breaking any constitutional rights given to all people. That being said, it's not a constitutional right to be able to go golfing at a certain golf course.
TheBob wrote:I don't think they should "just round up some females" for the sake of it but I think they should admit some.
TheBob wrote:This attitude really surprises me, especially comming from someone who is black. Granted I'm not black and have no idea what racism feels like. However, it seems to me that you could only have this atittude in a society where there isn't that much racism compared to the past. If this were 100 years ago there's no way you'd have that attitude. Just think about it for a minute, it wasn't long ago that white people ran america and that people of african descent had practically no rights. It's because of opinions like yours that it took so long for the US to change their laws and now you're saying that the laws are stupid basically.
TheBob wrote:Thats right Shane. However, I believe it is against the law to descriminate based upon sex among other things.
meanwhie...what do women look for in a golf country club?
I went to the beach on a REALLY hot day.... nothing! I went downtown... NOTHING!
