Sonic the Hedgehog Movie

A lot of controversy with this movie. I was a Nintendo guy growing up so I don't really care. Jim carrey was a great pick, but I hope there's a Tales appearance. Interesting that it takes place on Earth and not in Sega land where he has to rescue his animal friends from becoming robots

Old Jim Carrey is back!

Do we really need a Sonic movie, and in this strange "cosplay" outft ?!

I was also a Nintendo fanboy back in the day, so I never had an attachment to Sonic. I can relate to some extent though, as the Super Mario Bros movie was pretty bad (though somewhat enjoyably so in hindsight), and I think you've got the same issue here: bringing the character into the real world as opposed to the fantasy world of the game.

That is definitely some old school Jim Carrey, though. He's probably going to be the best part of the movie.

The director tweeted and said they would change Sonic's design in time before the film's release because of the backlash.

I agree, the design of the Pokemon on Detective Pikachu grew on me as they're basically textured 3D versions of the cartoon look, they could've got it with Sonic right away.

It seems to be one of the main points of contention, so a good call. Now even movies are getting a day one patch!

We're about to see something legendary.

No matter how horrible this movie is I'm still going to enjoy and have fun watching it simply because of nostalgia (and Jim Carrey), similar to Lone Ranger and TMNT.
