https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/ ... es-aged-52Chris Cornell, lead singer of American hard rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave, has died aged 52.
In a statement to the Associated Press, his representative, Brian Bumbery, said Cornell died on Wednesday night in Detroit.
Bumbery called the death “sudden and unexpected” and said his wife and family were shocked. The statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause, and asked for privacy.
I'm not regularly posting at this side of the forum but being a huge Soundgarden fan this is shocking since he has no known health issues. One of the most bad ass frontman to step on stage. Rest well champ...

It was said that he committed suicide, hanging himself in his hotel room.
I was listening to Superunknown hours just before the news broke out. RIP, Chris. I can never reach your vocal range.

He was one of the greatest front men rock has ever seen, both vocally and lyrically. It's crazy to think that he could have such a powerful voice and play those riffs at the same time. He was such an immense talent.
And for him to die the way he did, it really makes the lyrics of a lot of the Soundgarden songs to be even heavier than they were originally.
RIP Chris.

Been watching Cornell tributes on YouTube. The ones I like best are these:
I've definitely teared up on these. RIP Chris.

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/ge ... icide.htmlLinkin Park frontman Chester Bennington took his own life today. He was 41.
TMZ first reported that Bennington hanged himself at his Palos Verdes residence, only for Mike Shinoda to confirm the tragic news soon afterwards via Twitter
Damn... What a way to commemorate Cornell.

Have to admit, the Chester Bennington passing also hit me a lot harder than I thought it would. I guess it was because Linkin Park was a pretty big part of my high school experience - one of the better parts of it, anyway. Pretty sure my friend played "In The End" on loop at least 20 times in one day, which is probably why it was one of the songs I skipped when I listened to Hybrid Theory.
Anyway, RIP Chester.
