Nearly everyone on the Liverpool forum hates it because it has blue on it. Even though it's not even close to the blue Everton wear. :?
It's supposedly a throwback to our first ever kit from 1892. I don't mind it. Plus they're only going to wear it like 5-10 times a year anyway, right?

Would've looked better like this though:

Not bad, but I like the blue one. Talking about kits....

Are you kidding me ?

I guess money talks. €150m over 5 years and they throw away their tradition of never having a shirt sponsor. :facepalm2:

That Barcelona shirt sucks (N)

That's what I was gonna say. Don't like the blue one.

The new Gunners shirt is gorgeous. :D I love the Anniversary logo. Will buy it as soon as hits the stores over here.

Thierry, what do you think about Fernando Gago from Real Madrid? Apparently we are trying to sign him.

He hasn't played for Madrid in almost a year. When he played in Boca Juniors, he was a huge factor in the team; then Real signed him and played the first couple of seasons there, but then he wen't down in the pecking order (injuries, new signings)... he's kind of dead now, but if he gets his fitness back, he could be a great addition (think Mascherano).

It's been announced on Valencia's website that they are playing a friendly at Anfield on August 6th.
I wonder if it could have anything to do with us signing Mata. Wouldn't be the first time this has happened.

In 2008 we played a friendly against Villarreal as part of the Pepe Reina deal.
In 2009 we played a friendly against Espanyol as part of the Albert Riera deal.
Last season Valencia played a friendly against Man City. (as part of the David Silva deal?)

I'm still hopeful because I doubt Reina would have stuck around if he was just promised we'd sign players like Adam and Downing.

Interesting. No mention of Aquilani. He must be coming back to Anfield then. :)

Juventus have completed deals for Italy stars Alessandro Matri, Fabio Quagliarella, Simone Pepe and Marco Motta on a permanent basis.

All four players joined the Turin giants on loan last season, but the club have decided to keep the squad together by shelling out a combined fee of over 35million euros to retain their services.

Matri joined Juve in January from Cagliari and had an immediate impact, scoring nine goals in 16 league matches for the club and has now sealed a transfer worth 15.5million euros.

Quagliarella moved to the Bianconeri last summer from Napoli and, after scoring nine times in 17 games, has moved for a fee of 10.5million euros.

Wide midfielder Pepe and full-back Motta moved to the club from Udinese last summer, and have completed deals worth 7.5million euros and 3.75million euros, respectively.

All players have agreed a four-year deal as they begin life under new manager Antonio Conte.

Rumors saying that five teams agreed on Neymar's 45m release clause: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and Anzhi. (yes, Anzhi...)

And on Arsenal: rumors on Gervinho, Juan Mata (hopefully), Gary Cahill floating.

You let us have Mata and you can keep Clichy. Deal? :cheeky:
Seriously though, now that the Euro U21 tournament is over at least we should find out what's happening with Mata.

Anzhi are owned by some russian billionaire. Not really sure why they are even bidding for Neymar as he won't choose them over those other teams.

I see Malaga are bringing in some decent players too. Joaquin, Sergio Sanchez, Van Nistelrooy, Mathijsen, Toulalan, Nacho Monreal and Diego Buonanotte.
Qataris making their way into Europe. I think their royal family just bought PSG too.

my friend who got them didnt really wanna spend too much so she got the $50 tickets which are pretty far away (although i heard at the coliseum all of the seats have a decent view)
i wouldnt have minded to pay another $20-30 to get a bit closer.

That's just TERRIBLE... at least Gervinho is signing in this coming days... and there's a rumor that if Aguero / Neymar go to Real and Fabregas leaves, Benzema's coming :o

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

They seem to like buying your players.

They already wasted money on Adebayor (who lost his spot and was sent on loan) and Toure (who is suspended for six months for taking drugs).

Man, we look like a feeding team  Nasri, Clichy to City; Fabregas, Hleb, Henry to Barcelona...

Well, nothing is certain. The only thing certain is that we got Gervinho now - :applaud:

So Clichy to Man City is official now. It also seems that Tevez is wanting to leave again.

Fuck him. I'd prefer him in a Liverpool jersey 1,000 times. Everyone says "I want to win titles", but they mean "I want more money". :x

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Wed Jul 06, 2011 12:26 am

Man City spent over half a billion to win the FA Cup. Imagine how much they'll spend to win the league.
I look forward to the day that the owners of Chelsea and Man City get bored and decide they want all their money back. They'll be screwed.

Btw I read today that Coentrao is going to Madrid for 30m euros. Maybe you guys can buy Marcelo? :)

That would be clever. Marcelo only wants to play for his club, never for his national team.
