Great, but it looks to simple, add something else on to it then it would be really great. Thankx (Y)

I am not really sure what i want, but i want something attractive, and i really like the second one u made.

Sun Apr 24, 2005 2:18 pm

FendeR, try a background that takes more than a minute and a half.

Sun Apr 24, 2005 2:26 pm

I actually thought his background looked better than yours.

Suggestion: pulsating glow on sixers logo (check the Skip sig I made at HHC with it Mike ;) )

I fixed the tags wisdom_kid. :D

And Jae, I think the thing is when people like me and The Goat look at sigs we can see how it was done and the clouds perspectice of how good it looks. I personally liek Goats bg more because there's some brushing and whatnot involved, as opposed to some plastic rap then distort filters. Did I guess what it was FendeR`?

Sun Apr 24, 2005 3:36 pm

I could care less about how it was done, as long as it looks good that's all I'm particularly fussed about. That being said, there's no way humanly possible you'd be able to work out how I made the background on my sig.

Sun Apr 24, 2005 3:41 pm

I don't know about the dark part, but...
the yellow flame is probably a brush or an image that was set to some blending option and filled with a colour. The ornage behind that is just painted orange that was blurred out. And those moon-shaped things are probably a work of the pen tool, or circle marquee, then subtract from selection with the circle-marquee. And on top of that some scanlines at about...20%?

How'd I do?

Sun Apr 24, 2005 3:45 pm

Lol not too great. I can't actually remember everything I did, but I can tell you that the dark part and the orange part are actually part of the same background. They're not separate. Also, the whole graphic used about 15 layers so that might give you an indication of why I can't remember it at all.

Sun Apr 24, 2005 10:30 pm

Pretty much Colin, it was a couple cloud filters, a plastic warp and a wave. It did take a short time to do, but I thought it looked pretty cool. I'm just starting to see how brushing works, but soon I'll be able to make better, I guess quality sigs.

Sun Apr 24, 2005 11:05 pm

Time doesn't always necessarily equal quality. You can spend 5 hours on something but that doesn't mean it's going to be any better than something a person has spent 20 minutes on.

Sun Apr 24, 2005 11:12 pm

True, but I think it's more of a respect thing. By me doing something simple like I did, it was sort of me unintentionally slacking off. That's sort of cheating out people like Goat and Colin, they spend a lot of time on their stuff and it's always great. Different people have different tastes, I agree with what you just said but I can also see how making something easy is cheating people who put time into stuff.

Sun Apr 24, 2005 11:20 pm

I guess so, but at the same time it's really upto what the individual wants. I mean if they like what you make then it shouldn't matter how long it took you to do. God supposedly created the Earth and everything in it in 7 days, I don't see people going "you could at least try something that took longer than 7 days  " ah Christians.
