The Pitt is out now. Unfortunately the 360 version is off the Marketplace thanks to a host of bugs which I discovered playing through its second quest, a fixed version should be coming soon (which hopefully shouldn't cost me any extra).Nevertheless, they're still doing better by Xbox 360 users than THQ are with their DLC for SDvRAW 2009, now a couple of months overdue compared to the PS3 version.

Fixed version is back on the Marketplace, downloaded it again and finished off the quest line. You can return, so I'll probably go back and get that last achievement when I can be bothered searching for all the things you need to find (which will probably be when there's a complete list of them online

). Pretty fun and worth playing for the new enemies, extra quests and new items but I still think Broken Steel will prove to be the best of the DLC.

Hopefully it should. That's the only DLC I'm waiting for. Direct sequel to the game =

It definitely adds the most significant extras to the game with the new level cap, encounters, quest line and open ended gameplay. Of course, since I've already levelled up to Level 20 in my main game, I hate to think of all the XP I've missed out on but I'm sure I'll find a way to get to Level 30. If not, I'm sure I'll start all over again at some point to try out different karma paths for various quests.
Speaking of the current ending, and an earlier quest that sets up the eventual ending, I can't help but think of a Simpsons quote. "Look at your heroic daddy! Making funny faces, falling to the floor! Shedding all his hair...lying perfectly still...oh dear..."

Is Pitt DLC out for PC? I can't believe I deleted fallout 3 since I thought I ain't coming back to play the game again. : (

The ending is really weak, they should've made you play the game after showing the ending sequences.

I believe so, since there bug reports for a PC version in the Fallout Wiki.

I thought it was alright in some respects, it was a bit of a letdown mainly because the "multiple endings" that were touted turned out to be misleading and of course the lack of open ended gameplay after the main quest is done but at least 360/PC players won't have to be hampered by that for good.

Just when I thought I had snapped out of it, I feel like I HAVE to play Fallout 3 again...I sold it a couple of months ago, and I was almost glad to do so, it had me literally under its spell for countless hours. I don't remember playing a PC game that much besides TES IV: Oblivion (and not counting Live and 2K9 of course). But with the recent DLC releases and the fact that there are some insanely cool new mods on the Nexus Fallout 3 website, I feel very much inclined to buy it again, maybe the collector edition box this time...
But since I did play most of the missions and visited most of the locations the first 2 times around (with good karma first, than bad karma), I just wonder if I wouldn't get bored of it as soon as I start. Decisions, decisions...

That's one of the reasons I tend to horde games I've enjoyed, it may be months or even years in between but I'll usually pick them up and play them again. Fallout 3 is the kind of game you can do that with long after you've finished it the first time so if you don't mind putting it on the shelf once you're done so you can pick it up later then perhaps it might be worth picking up again.

Did anyone here purchase the collector's edition that comes in a... lunch box?
I remember enjoying my collector's edition of Oblivion quite a lot back in the day, with the making of DVD and stuff, and the one for F3 looks like fun too. I just don't know if it's worth spending 50 bucks on it, considering I already played the game twice...

I didn't pick it up myself, but I've read a description of the package and it does sound like a fun collectible if you're into that sort of thing. I was just after the game at a cheaper price so I didn't bother (if it's actually available in Australia).

I think I have the Limited Edition, if I remember correctly. It isn't written on the box. It comes with a model of a soldier from Broterhood of Steel.

Does it have the making of DVD as well?
I know some editions may vary depending on the country.

From the Fallout Wiki:
Collector's Edition
The collector's edition of Fallout 3 features: A Vault Boy Bobblehead, and The Art of Fallout 3 which features never before seen exclusive concept art for the game, and "The Making of Fallout 3" DVD. The entire package is contained in a Vault-Tec lunch box container.
Survival Edition
In addition to the above products, the Survival Edition features a life-size model of the Pip-Boy wrist computer upon whose screen is a fully functional digital clock display.
The PiP-Boy is a dashing rendition of the one you use in game. However it is made from a lightweight plastic that surprised many users. Undeterred fans put the batteries into their clocks, however many found the buttons to not be functional. Others had the clock function for a time, then turn into a flashing "12:00" before never working again.
The piece is still considered valued amongst hardcore fans for the chance of having a Pip-Boy on their desk, however the quality of the construction, and its value as a collectible, has been put into question.

Funny I read about that Pip-Boy clock. Fuck that it doesn't work as it should.

I couldn't resist, I ordered the "lunch box" special edition
I've been spending a few hours downloading mods in preparation, I hadn't checked any since I sold the game a couple of months ago but there are some new mods that seem to be worth a try. Since I already played it twice (well, 1.5 really), I kinda want to get a different feel from it this time around. Plus, I'll get to play the two DLCs...
Sat Apr 04, 2009 6:34 pm
Broken Steel pls.
Sat Apr 04, 2009 6:54 pm
Not long now, either later this month or early May.
Sun Apr 05, 2009 2:57 am
What does Broken Steel do besides increasing the level cap? That's all I could find about it...
Sun Apr 05, 2009 9:36 am
It extends the game beyond the "Take it Back!" quest, regardless of which option you choose, essentially adding a new ending and apparently also allowing for open ended gameplay once the main quest line is finished...including the ones added by Broken Steel which will basically involve teaming with the Brotherhood of Steel to rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave completely.
Sun Apr 05, 2009 3:34 pm
Then it looks like all those changes can be made using some of the existing mods out there. Thanks for clearing that up Andrew, just wanted to make sure whether or not I should have waited for this version.
Sun Apr 05, 2009 9:31 pm
Including the additional quests? If nothing else, the DLC will do that. I've read on the Wiki that modding the game above Level 20 results in a few bugs but if I had the PC version I'd probably check it out all the same.

It used to, because the mod was allowing to go to level 30 or 40, but it would conflict with the game, since the calculations for karma would be messed up, and mainly, it would crash after lvl 20 if you had neutral or bad karma. I didn't see that the first time around because I was playing with good karma, but the second time since I was being a prick to everyone, it would crash to desktop every single time after lvl 20, and that's what made me stop playing it...But now, the mod allows you to by pass this conflict, it shows that you stay at lvl 20, but really, you keep leveling up with perks and the correct karma calculations.
Still don't know why Bethesda would cap it so low, it wasn't like that with Oblivion.
Mon Apr 06, 2009 8:47 am
Probably because they anticipated releasing the DLC. It's also possible to finish the game around Level 12/13 if you rush through the main quest. I don't know, I'm still eager to play Broken Steel, mainly because we don't have the option of mods on the Xbox 360 but also because of the new quests, perks and unique encounters it's going to add.

I received the collector's edition on Friday night and I must be already 10-11 hours into the game...Even after playing it twice, this game is just brutally addictive (especially when using some of the cool mods out there). Damn you Bethesda, that's too much awesomeness in one game...
