We're pleased to announce the Diablo III open beta weekend, which offers open access to all players with a valid Battle.net account! Beginning this Friday everyone is invited to log in and help us put the game and servers through their paces in this three day stress test as we march toward the game's release on May 15. You can begin downloading the Diablo III client right now!

From Friday, April 20 at 12:01 p.m. PDT (noon), until Monday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. PDT you'll be able to log in, team up with friends, and play each of the five heroic classes to level 13 as you fight to save the world from the impending demonic invasion.

My home internet is too slow to download the client, I already accepted the fact that I'll not finish downloading it within the beta period.

Watched my brother play some diablo 3. Good looking game, but I am not sure if I would enjoy it. I'm probably spoiled by games with a deep set of variable gameplay, story and possibilities.

For someone who likes sports games, shooters, and fallout-like hybrid games, what elements do you think I would enjoy other than coop with friends?

I played a turned-based shooting game on PC back in the day called Jagged Alliance. They made 2 games and two add-ons
as for something new, I enjoyed the Yakuza Series on PS3. it's a Japanese open-world game with RPG elements w/ sidestories, much like Fallout. I've played the series since it was on PS2

Definitely getting this one. The beta was pretty fun, as short as it was. Unlocking new skills is a ton of fun, and though the randomized levels are incredibly repetitive, there are some cool sequences that seem to be a little more scarce or rare than others.

While I played through the beta a dozen or so times, there was one room that I only came across once where pillars and constantly spawning skeletons attack until you broke these pillar things. In the end there was a large amount of loot (like ALOT). Apparently things like this happen every now and then, and definitely shake things up a bit, and give you a little more motivation to explore.

I fully levelled up a witch doctor, and started a Wizard, both were fun, just wish unlocking things wasn't so linear (skillswise).

After playing the beta I now believe the game will live to the hype I have given it. I guess all games for the next year will be ignored by me since Diablo > all

I will be of those guys waiting outside the story at midnight (bought the CE) and the best part? Still cant play til 3am but whatever. That gives me time to get home, install the game, take a nap, then start playing and forget about the world

I haven't played any of the diablo games before but i preorder diablo 3. Is this game like dragon age origins? Somehow i see resemblance from the videos

No. Dragon Age: Origins is a tactical RPG. Diablo III is more of a dungeon-crawler/action-RPG.

Yeah. I was suppose to get mine yesterday but long lines made me come back home. Bad reviews from users though, disappointing they said.

Diablo 3 might just be Torchlight version 1.99 lol.

The Diablo 3 devs said themselves that what they did with Diablo 3 was originally what they wanted for Diablo 2 but their engine then counldn't handle it. Diablo 3 looks similar to Torchlight and considering that some of Torchlight devs were part of Diablo and Diablo 2 teams...

I'd get this when prices go down, or if they avail a single-player campaign without the internet connection. One must seclude himself from the world once he dedicates himself into stopping evil.

Might go with Max Payne 3 first (which was released just this week too, but was clearly overshadowed by Diablo III).

Cracked: 5 Reasons 'Diablo III' Represents Gaming's Annoying Future
I haven't been excited about a video game in a long, long time. It's not because I've hit some magical stage of adulthood that makes me hate fun things, or that I'm so busy that I can't find time for simple entertainment. Give me a good enough game, and I'll make time for it. Give me something spectacular, and I'll call in sick for it. Give me something I've waited 12 years for, and I'll burn down my grandma's house for a copy.

When that bar turned green and the "Play" button lit up, my dong rose like 20 tiny Amish guys were pulling on it with ropes.

I clicked "play" and then "I agree" on not one, but three "User Agreement" screens. That's when the first smoke alarm went off in my head.
