The grammar/spelling nazis are out to get you.

Same with you:
Elbeen wrote:liscence to licence. (Canadian thing

It's not a canadien thing. You're just stupid.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 5:37 am

^Not really his fault. Here, we are taught that the spelling ways is Canadian. Teachers say "Use Canadian spelling" whenever they can. Are they wrong? Probably. It wasn't until I looked it up that I know it's done in all areas of the British Crown.

Goes to show how self-centered our country is.

I'm starting to like you.
If you also have the 2 volume complete Calvin and Hobbes book, I like you a lot.

Not really. We just adapted the British system. The US still goes by feet and inches while the rest of the world uses the metric system. Somehow we've adopted both :|

lol in the US, it's not spelled either way. I spell it "license".

Sun Mar 02, 2008 11:53 am

 My bad on the license spelling.

I did not mean to be one of those grammar/spelling nazis. I meant some of you guys, who bash people for wrong grammar/spelling.

You'll probably call me so McDwyane for changing the spelling liscence.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 12:15 pm

How bout Mcbeen?

Sun Mar 02, 2008 4:46 pm

Meh, I didn't say that your spelling is wrong. I just said that you aren't Canadien.

Well, the thing I don't get is, why don't we call it the British system, then? Misleading people to go around thinking that this form of spelling is unique to Canada. Would've made myself a pretty fool if I went around Britain making a note of that.

lol I didn't even see that.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 9:36 pm

It's not that I want to be anal about it and be a spelling nazi.

I just like the fact that he blames Canada for his spelling woes when he himself can't even spell licence/license properly in neither the canadien/British nor American way.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 10:08 pm

Wow, that an interesting thread could go from fun to boring so fast.

Then again, what else do you expect when JT55 is involved?

Mon Mar 03, 2008 3:11 am

What the hell is up with the Filipinos spelling Canadien?

Mon Mar 03, 2008 8:37 am

Mon Mar 03, 2008 9:02 am

I love how Shadowgrin's always careful to spell "Canadien" without the capital letter.

What is it with you and Canada anyway?

Mon Mar 03, 2008 4:31 pm

Clever Joe, very clever.

Yes cyanide, it was intentional on my part to misspell "Canadian" as "canadien". I also didn't capitalize it to have an excuse if some Canadians do get offended and I'll just say that I'm referring to a different term altogether.

As for Lean or the others, I don't know what the hell is their excuse.

I won't tell you the exact reason for spelling it that way. All that I can say is it's an effort to bring down Canada. For the Resistance!

Eh? (see below)

Damn it JT_55, at least quote properly.

Don't you ever edit your post "McLean".

Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:06 pm

I was quoting Lean's post way up on the top of the page, that's why.

I guess he was maybe mocking you after that?

Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:18 pm

I see. No he wasn't mocking me. He's finally a part of the Resistance.

Mon Mar 03, 2008 11:03 pm

Yeah, McShadow, everything that ends with "ian" will be "ien."

Like "Christian" will be "Christien."

Tue Mar 04, 2008 9:55 am

But shadow isn't trying to bring down Christianity.

Thu Mar 06, 2008 4:58 pm
