Well, depending on how you look at it Star Wars has 6 movies in it. Besides, Episode 1 and 2 both sucked fairly hard.
Top 5 albums I'm listening to right now :
1. Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
2. Rush - Snakes and Arrows
3. Tool - 10, 000 Days
4. Incubus - Light Grenades
5. Red Hot Chili Peppers - One Hot Minute (probably their crappiest stuff to date, but it's interesting to hear how dramatically their sound changed from previous albums)

Even though every RHCP fan and RHCP members themselves hate this album, it's one of my favorites and I prefer it a million times better than the last two albums which, in my opinion, completely suck. In fact, for me, RHCP died in 2000 after Californication was released.
A lot of great songs, despite being sadder, are included in One Hot Minute, most notably Aeroplane, My Friends and Warped, but also songs like Coffee Shop and Tearjerker.

well he
did say the first 3 movies of the series and I'd say the first 3 that were made were pretty damn awesome.
I haven't seen Spiderman 3 yet, but the first two were good enough to crack my top 5 trilogies no matter how bad the third movie is.

Top Five Television Characters
1. Bart Simpson
As the series has developed The Simpsons has, for the most part, become more about Homer with more episodes based around his adventures, but when the series first started and was becoming a television powerhouse, it was all thanks to Bartmania. There have been characters who are wittier but you can't argue with success.
2. Dr Perry Cox
The brilliance of the Dr Cox character, both in the writing and John C. McGinley's acting is that it would be easy to simply make the character a rude, narcissistic, egotistical, sarcastic jerk without any redeeming qualities and still be funny. However, the character is much stronger given that he's also demonstrated a knowledge of when to be tough and when to be encouraging and generally does the right thing by other people (often without being coerced or threatened), making him a classic character that often seems like the bad guy but really isn't as bad as first impressions would have you believe. Combine that with some of the most hilarious lines on the show and you have one of the best characters on television, past or present.
3. Homer Simpson
The Simpsons stayed strong after the focus moved from Bart to Homer, who can probably lay claim to a majority of the show's memorable lines. The character has even added to the English language as "D'oh" is now a word listed in the dictionary. At times the characterisation has been a bit shaky considering the person Homer Simpson was originally established as being, but a show doesn't run for 18 seasons and 400 episodes with a weak central character.
4. Al Bundy
Chauvinistic, boorish and politically incorrect, the Al Bundy character was a likeable loser who somehow redeemed himself through ultimate underdog status and hilariously dysfunctional family and lifestyle. Al Bundy's character can be summed up in three lines from the pilot episode.
Large Woman in Shoestore: We're leaving!
Kid: But I want a balloon!
Al: You've already got one, son.
5. Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce
Richard Hooker, the author of the M*A*S*H novels may have disliked Alan Alda's portrayal of a character he based on himself and Robert Altman may have hated the series that followed the movie he made, but Alda's Hawkeye Pierce remains perhaps the most popular character on one of the most successful series in the history of television.

YES! I just started watching that show. He's the best part!
Top 5 Worst Bands
1. The Pussycat Dolls
2. The Beach Boys
3. Linkin Park
4. Fallout Boy
5. Sean Paul
Fri May 18, 2007 3:29 pm
What's wrong with the Beach Boys.
Pet Sounds is one of the greatest album of all times. Paul McCartney rates it as the best ever. That is a very big call too make. If you listen to the early work, and Pet Sounds especially you'll learn to appreciate their music for what it is.
The rest I agree with. Personally I could extend that list to 50 bands at ease. But Linkin Park and PCD would be right up there.

I need to smack the shit out of you for besmirching Linkin Park and Beach Boys by putting them there with Pussycat Dolls...I at least can see the other two being on that level. But my advice, turn off the radio and listen to some albums, check out pet sounds for beach boys and any for linkin park (other than reanimation, it doesnt count)...the singles do mostly suck, but the albums are gold
Top 5 Worst Bands/Musical Artists
1. Pussycat Dolls-completely agree, no redeeming qualities to these bitches at all
2. The Monkees-in a time of great bands, these guys didnt play their own stuff, didnt write their own stuff, and sounded like everyone else, fuck them
3. MSI-Hardcore? hardly, fake ass posers trying to be hardcore while making a terrible fucking racket
4. Eiffel 65-While blue is catchy as shit and one of my favorite songs, the entire album sounded just like it. Computers make more than three noises boys...learn it and utilize it and maybe i'll give some respect
5. Lil Jon (rapping, not making beats/producing)-Has made god knows how much money with a vocabulary of 8-10 words....also brought crunk to the mainstream; that is the genre starting to dumb down all people who listen to rap...Nothing against the idea behind it, but its just not that good to listen to outside of a club
Honorable Mentions: Gwen Stefani/Fergie solo and Phil Collins

I personally loved By the Way. It is probably my favourite album of RHCP even if it did blend that sort of more "pop rock" or "mainstream" sound. Some of their more softer and emotional work on that album is extremely well done to me (Venice Queen, Mightnight, Dosed), even if it contrasts their funky bass slapping sound of previous albums.
Stadium Arcadium is alright I suppose. I wouldn't say it sucks, it's better than most stuff out there. Some of the tracks on that album feature John's talent with the guitar.

Wow, an actual Link Park fan who doesn't keep it a secret.
Well, I can't fault you for personal taste since I absolutely detest Link Park and you can choose to enjoy whatever music you choose, but you've got to admit that their new album isn't that good.
I'm suprised Simple Plan isn't on there. I find them the most repetitive and untalented band out there... But yet again I guess its all about personal taste.
Sat May 19, 2007 12:44 pm
Californication of the most recent stuff of RHCP is by far the best. You can actually tell songs apart on that album, unlike stadium arcadium.
My whole purpose in liking Linkin Park is i'm a huge fan of the rap-rock idea...the ideals of both genres arent far enough apart for the separation society puts on it. Linkin Park was the first band to introduce me to Rock-Rap with metal undertones. It may be I caught them at the right time in my life (happens alot, i was/still am an angsty young man). The new album while far from perfect Im finding lyrically to be better than the previous 2 and the high points of the album more than make up for the lows.
Now for a new top 5 since this isnt the music thread.
Top 5 things I didnt like at first but I do now
1. Anchorman The Legend of Ron Burgundy-Hated this movie the first time i saw it and now it cracks me up without fail in almost every other line
2. Nine Inch Nails-They in the past 3 years have started to top my list of favorite music, yet i used to thing they were just noise...maybe i was too young, but now i find them amazing
3. Jimmy Johns-this sub joint i despised but now, i relish every bite...maybe its because they're open at the hours i'm eating, i dont know
4. Monty Pythons Life of Brian-Takes awhile to get going, but hilarious if you pay attention. subtle and genius.
5. Baby back Ribs-i'm not sure why i disliked them before, but i despised them. Now i spend far too much money any time i go out iwth my friends to feast on these BBQ coated slabs of meat.

1. Audioslave- I am the highway
2. RATM- Testify
3. Audioslave- Show me how to live
4. NIN- Only
5. RATM- Guerilla Radio
I am just beginning to get really interested in music. I've always enjoyed listening to the radio and such but not until now have I actually pursued this interest.

That's because they were actors. Being a 'band' was a gimmick for their TV show and people fell for it.

I think that Cartman's funniest moments are when he picked on Kyle all of the time. I never really liked Cartman in the older episodes though, he seemed to get funnier as the show progressed.

I do agree with you on the fact that the "more softer, emotional work" on By The Way is really well done and I really like the songs you listed and some others like "Tear" and "This is the place", but I don't like the fact that the whole album was made focusing exclusively on John's guitar.
I like the previous albums because Flea shows he's one of the greatest bassists ever. Nowadays, the bass player is insignificant in most bands and for most of the people it's just someone who slaps four strings.
Flea showed the whole world what a bass guitar can do, and it just gets on my nerves that RHCP limits him like they did with the latest albums. I mean, they have the greatest active bass player in the world and they focus on guitar, just because 13-year old kids like it better and buy their albums.
RHCP survived without John Frusciante (1984-1989; 1992-1998) and produced one of their greatest albums IMO without him, but they wouldn't last a single second without Flea. That's what they have to understand.Californication of the most recent stuff of RHCP is by far the best. You can actually tell songs apart on that album, unlike Stadium Arcadium.
Totally agree with you here. Californication is probably their most successful album and surely the greatest after Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
Here's my Top 5 RHCP Albums:
- Blood Sugar Sex Magik
- Californication
- One Hot Minute
- Mother's Milk
- Uplift Mofo Party Plan or Frakey Styley

Well, he's done that since Day One really. I just find it funnier when he gets what's coming to him, whether he feels the consequences are worth it (as in the Casa Bonita episode) or his scheming comes back to bite him on the arse (as in "Cartman Sucks"). Having said that, I liked "Scott Tenerman Must Die" which was probably the first episode where Cartman really pulled off one of his more diabolical ideas.

You make it sound like blending something new and trying something different is a terrible idea, but the fact is that the Peppers can't just churn out BSSM every album. I could care less if they sound any less "mainstream", I mean it isn't something to be afraid of. They're still changing their sound and they still sound completely different from everyone else, which is why I liked them so much in the first place.
Well, I guess by your standards their just incapable of making good music anymore, which is fine I guess. Not everyone is goning to like the same kind of music.

They're not incapable of making good music, for some reason, they just don't make it.
I'm okay with you (and everybody else) not liking the same kind of music as me, I just wanted to express my opinion on your statement: "One Hot Minute - RHCP's crappiest stuff"

I've heard this argument probably 1,000 times, and I swear I'll never understand it. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are musicians why? To make money. It is their job, their career, and how they pay the bills and continue their level of quality of life. That all being said and generally accepted, why would they go out of their way to totally be inconsiderate of what people like, when it directly affects their record sales, show attendance, and in turn, profits? When it comes right down to it, it's a job, and a business, and as with any career, right up at 1 or 1a is to make as much money as you possibly can in your field, right next to or tied into being happy with what you do. I've just never understood this whole ideaology that bands should go out of their way to not make music that's generally liked... it doesn't even make any sense. I mean sure I get the different musical movements, roots, etc. that people use, but when it comes right down to it, it still makes little sense. Furthermore, RHCP have been making music that 'people like' since what, the mid to late 80's? They've always been pretty 'pop' (they covered a Stevie Wonder song as a single on Mother's Milk, and even discounting that, Blood Sugar Sex Magik had radio friendly hits like Under the Bridge and Give it Away). My personal opinion is that afterschool music critics need to get off their high horses and realize what little they actually know about the music business in general.
