Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

going to class today I was slightly uneasy knowing that this could happen on any college campus in the nation and how UC Irvine's pretty open to the public.
EDIT: I just watched the short excerpts of what NBC has shown so far and I gotta say just hearing his tone of voice, he sounded so angry and yet so frustrated at the same time. Just looking into his eyes, I see how much he hurt I almost knew how he felt, it was kinda scary. I almost felt bad for him because there have been many times in my life where I have been at the end of my rope like that... plenty of times where I have voiced my frustrations about rich white people too.
of course, I am not condoning his actions at all. What he did was just fucked up. However, I empathize with him for I have been in a deep depression similar to what he was in. I still had the rationale to find help in the form of counseling to keep myself from bouncing off the walls when I got down some. it just seems like he just bottled up all of his negative emotions inside until it all finally exploded, since that's usually a characteristic of someone who was raised in a traditional Asian household, something I can relate to.
and when the media digs into his Counterstrike and tries to make a connection, it really pisses me off. it had nothing to do with the shootings, so why talk about it?

i dont think they did. Apparently there were false reports that his parents tried to commit suicide in the South Korean media.
But as it turns out, they were just admitted to hospital because they were suffering from shock. I can totally understand that.

I got a question, this is kinda bible/church idk related.
If you did some bad things in your life, but you were still a a good person at heart, but your past is bad, and you get killed my someone, do you go to heaven or to hell cuz you sinned in the past, but since you were murdered innocently do you go to heaven, someone who knows anythnig about this clear this up for me.
Plz dont flame me.

There's no "correct" or true answer to this, so you're better off not worrying about it. Personally, I don't believe that there is a heaven or hell or an intervening God; however, according to Catholic doctrine, if I remember correctly, if you get killed before confessing your sins, you'll go to hell.

I don't think there really is a heaven or hell either, but when u die and youv dnoe good in ur life, u will have good dreams when ur dead and u keep having them forever (heaven) or if you were bad then u ahve nightmares for ever when ur dead (hell) but thats what i think.
I just thnk that its not fair even if u were bad during ur life that if u get murdered randomly that u still go to hell.

Excatly 8 years ago (4-20-99) was the day Columbine happened in Colorado. It's pretty freaky how close together the two were.

maybe he waited as close as he could to the anniversary (he did mention them in his tapes)

IMO, that statement is more misplaced than Riot's post (hey, he's Riot) or Mazz's posted pic.
Maybe I should dress as a sorcerer and throw molotov-fireballs in the univ while shouting, "I am the new ruler of Azeroth!" since I love Warcraft, and have some tendencies similar to what Qballer mentioned and felt.

I love the Super Mario games, but you don't see me going around throwing hammers or fireballs at people.
Sun Apr 22, 2007 3:34 am
And I love Madden but you don't see me hit stickin' everyone.

I play CS a lot, but I never even had a thought in my mind to transfer game into real life.
Sun Apr 22, 2007 9:33 am
I like NBA Live but you don't see me using magnets to get rebounds or not getting fatigued do you?
Sun Apr 22, 2007 11:49 am
I laughed at the first two post, but you don't see me posting like that, do you? Oh wait, you do. Anyway, it's not funny anymore guys.
Did you guys saw that girl who survived both Columbine and Virginia Tech? That's one lucky girl.

No, you just showed that you're classless and don't fully understand the magnitude of the events that occurred, and unfortunately probably won't unless you find yourself in a situation that could rival it one day. Unfortunately you're not nearly alone, though.

you're no fun.
anyways, I just finished an opinion article for my school newspaper on the whole ordeal. Wasn't really gonna write it, but it was kind of a spur of the moment type thing.
I'll post it when i get the chance.

I didnt hear, possible link about her? Would love to read up on it...

OK popped in from weeks of Warcrack, school, and track to comment...
1. The video game argument: bullshit...always has been...always will be...period
2. At my school if you are recommended for counseling, they kick you out of the school if you dont go. This kid was a senior about to graduate and he snapped. Dont you think in 4 years in an english department some teacher would've made the admins aware this kid was past the line of "morbid, but creative" in his plays?
3. The more I hear, the more I think doctors, parents, teachers, therapists, and society in general needs to take on depression/chemical imbalances. While there are some who improperly diagnosed, there are many who arent. Not trying to validate what he did, but i think if he had gotten the help he should've gotten, this could've been prevented.
