I wonder if they'll show Family Guy this week then since baseball is over. Probably not, but that would be awesome.

Black Sox Scandal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sox

Basically the White Sox intentionally lost their games because they conspired with gamblers. Basically they threw their World Series away for money. Click the link to see more.

ahhh good times in city of chicago :chug:

this was great for the fans and the franchise- the sox are the 2nd team in the second city and their fans are unfailry labeled as low class

this is a once in a lifetime thing, i'm glad to have been able to witness this. the bulls 6 championships were great but this possibly is the greatest moment in chicago sports for me. after the 1st ring, it was almost expected for the bulls to win each year. but these sox, they came out of nowhwere. even though they had the best record, the cubs would still be front page material in the local papers. it's been a magical ride all year. i'm still in shock

WHITE SOX ARE THE WORLD CHAMPS!

Does Ozzie Guillen ever look truly happy? He always seems sort of angry.

Oh man, how incredible is this. I've been partying non-stop since it happened. Amazing. Hey Gordon, did you make the parade? It was incredible. I was on the West side of the street on Lasalle and Wacker, and we pushed our way to the front (making some people a bit upsett, but oh well) so we were all the way by the street. Then when the rally started we made a bum rush to the stage, unfortunatley the mics didn't work so we couldn't really hear anything. Still an absolutley amazing time for White Sox fans. Wow.

i don't know much about the mets deal. i'm hearing the marlins have are having a firesale....

i like the rowand + 2 prospects for jim thome. philly will be paying some of that contract it's being reported, affording the sox to still have an opportunity to sign konerko

thome fills the teams need for a left handed power hitter. i think the last time the sox had this was when Robin Ventura was still on the team hehe.

rowand was a crowd fav and a good clubhouse guy. but his on-field skills can be and will be replaced. brian anderson is one of the top minor league prospects and should get take his spot barring any other moves by Kenny Williams

I like the move for Thome too, as long as he doesn't get injured again...

Hey gordan, would you rather sign Juan Pierre to replace 33, or really make a push to keep Paulie?

Personally, the idea of having Pierre is pretty attractive idea, but we would definitley lose even more power in our lineup.

On the other hand, if we signed Pierre, that allows Tadahito to move to the 3rd spot, where he hit in Japan, and his homerun numbers would definitley go up, alot.

I don't know much about baseball. But I heard on the news last week that there were Bobby Abreu trade Rumors, I will be so mad if they traded him. (N)
