What's wrong with that? It's not like hairstyles are destined for certain races; just the other day I was reading about how a white girl got suspended for having cornrow'ed hair.
I've said that. What races it affected is not what teh disscusion is about, what race it was directed at is teh discussion.Teh G.O.A.T. wrote:I know, I'm not saying that white audiances can't, I'm saying that his music was directed towards black audiances (God that word is annoying to spell).
No matter which race Tupac directed his music towards, it still affected just about every race.

If your in a club, you would hear more southern music, like a crunk club. If you go to BET right now, you will see that most of the rap and even some r&b is featured on most of the top 10 shows (MAJORITY).
You have artists such as: Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Three 6 Mafia, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Outkast, T.I., Lil Flip, Young Buc, Ying Yang Twins, David Banner, TRU (Master P), Lil Wayne, Yo Gotti, Trick Daddy and that's just a few. I have yet to name R&B singers like Usher and I don't know where alot of R & B singers live so I can't speak for them as I can for rap.

so what you're saying is popularity and club records makes rap better? Most people in the clubs don't know shit about rap music so that's bs.
And what about listing even SOME of New York's good rappers? The south can never take over.
That doesn't still include West Coast rap. I don't think the west is as powerful as it was but it still is bigger than derrrty south

No, you putting words in my mouth. The west coast and south is better than the east. Jay-Z retired basically and the most popular people out are 50 cent, jadakiss, fat joe and nas. I also forgot to mention 8-ball and MJG from the south. I like the west music alot more than the east with snoop, ice cube, the game. and if you notice, the west is doing alot of songs with the south. ice cube with lil jon. The east has some good rappers because I listen to a few of them, but alot of East rap isn't that good. It's hard to explain, but with the exception of the few rappers I named from the East, the rest is pretty sucky unless I forgot some names. Pharrell is one of the best producers out there, but he isn't informed as a rapper. If we had this coversation about 3-5 years ago, then the South wouldn't really be anywhere, but the South has came too far and I know that the South is very strong and is taking over the music charts.
Take a look at this top 50 Billboard chart. You see more South rappers/singers on it than East or West.

The South has variety, you just don't see one person name on there a bunch of times like you see 50 cent name.

You're implying that because the South dominates Billboard charts and popularity, they are better than the East or West. I love some rappers from the South and they definently put out the most party tracks but you're saying that they're better than the West and East? Hardly. Take a look at that Billboard chart and tell me how many of those South songs you could consider "good" hip-hop. I'd be surprised if you could find 2. You only mention East Coast rappers (50 Cent, Fat Joe, Jadakiss) who are better known to the general public and that makes it seem like you don't know some of the better hip-hop artists from the East (I wouldn't know that many because I, myself, mostly stick to West Coast).

The only thing I can look at is my opinion, facts from the billboard charts, listening to the music myself, and checking out things on music TV stations such as BET and MTV. That's how I see it.

billboard charts and MTV DO NOT point out the best rappers, I've never considered MTV rappers as the best ones. East has far more and better material, you don't see Redman, Wu-Tang on MTV do you?
You said "50 Cent, Fat Joe, Jadakiss" And they've all got/had better rappers in their groups. 50 had Banks (mixtape Banks), Joe had Pun, and Jada has Styles. But surely you know of the great artists the East (by East I mean New York). From the origins of rap in the 70's with Bambaataa and them through the Golden Era of Rakim, KRS, and PE. Through the Native Tongues like Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. Through the gritty Nas, Mobb, and Wu era. To even the shiny suit era.
