not many countries support TW's independence.
Even United Nations is against it...
it will cause alot of troubles if Tw do go independence.
it's btw CHina and Tw, it should've nothing to do with US.
but assume China do wanna attack TW, surely US will come n help.. but what it'll lead to.. is more war... and more deaths..
+ during these few years, China won't attack TW.. cuz they've to prepare for the Olympics 2008..
they'll be as friendly as possible..

U.N. would glady step in when a communist country tries to force another communist country to be communist. When a country wants to be a democracy and another country threatens it that's when the U.N. should and would step in.

And sending miltary wouldn't be that bad, it's not like it would be a full-all out war but more just a small attack telling China to back off. China would be scared to death with all the nations that would align to fight them.

riot, when you say that taiwan wants a democracy, i think you are just talking out of your ass. taiwan has an autocratic system, and most of the people there actually have no real huge objection to it. plus taiwan is a completly independant state and has virtually no ties to china anymore. so what you are talking about is a completely ridiculous idea anyways, because there is absolutly nothing that would lead you to believe this is even close to happening.

and i wish i had your ignorance to think that the united states would just make a "small attack to scare the shit out of china" man, you just really do not understand how united states foriegn policy works. we have a reputation to keep you know :roll:

Taiwan is trying to file for "formal independence". China doesn't want Taiwan to "seperate" itself from China so China is basically saying don't gain independence or else. They wrote it in their China rules or whatever they have.

And it wouldn't just be America leading the charge. It would be the United Nations leading it. China would see the whole world uprising and they would back off. Miltary force wouldn't be needed very much unless China doesn't back down.

However, hopefully this never happens. Some think it's just China trying to act tough and try to scare Taiwan into not filing for formal independence. I hope America and the U.N. pushes for Taiwan to gain independence.

What the hell have I changed? I said China doesn't want Taiwan to be a democracy and they are threatening them! I've said all along that America should step up and do something, whether or not it's miltary action or not I don't know. But I do know that the U.N. would not sit around and let a communist country stop another country from being a democracy.

cuz Taiwan is falling apart itself...

you can't get all the people to support one President..
then the country split in Half...

as for UN..
who knows they will backup US action again..
cuz.. what US had done b4.. really was.. meaningless...
they didn't wait for the UN's order... then they took it themselves..

The United Nations wouldn't allow a communist country to force another country to be ruled under communism (spell?) when they want a democracy.

And China wrote it in there China Rules or whatever the hell it's called.

I'll have to agree there, I think the American media is doing a horrible job covering almost everything. Especially the War on Iraq. But, then again, I bet I'll get flamed for thinking the war is great.

About Taiwan.. the European Union is trying to make it not able for China to get weapons or something and Amwrica is supporting it. Japan is starting to rearm itself in case of Chinese invasion too.
