Seems to be part of a bigger meme, I've seen it on Facebook as well. It'll get overdone and die.

Maybe he was using tweetdeck to post which lets you go over the 140 limit?

Wow. I just found out that my friend was on the highway in his Honda Civic when a drunk in an SUV going about 20-30 mph faster than him rammed into him from the back. He's fine except for a broken arm, and he's really sore. Have to wonder what would've happened without seatbelts and an airbag. Scary stuff.

Sounds like he's fairly lucky, all things considered. Hopefully the drunk driver will lose his license...not that it stops a lot of people from driving anyway, of course, but he shouldn't get off scot free.

Doesn't a drunken driver get charged with attempted murder in this case? He should have been more than fucked up to do that. :shake:

I'm not sure what happened to the other guy. I'm sure there will be major consequences, particularly because the guy couldn't even walk in a straight line and had an open beer in the center console. My friend says he doesn't give a fuck what happens to him, he's just glad to be alive. I saw a picture of the car. It's a complete mess, and it's a good thing no one was in the backseat, because I think they would've been killed. The trunk is basically part of the backseat. It's not getting fixed.

Im not condoning DUIs or anything...but i know in florida donte stallworth was driving drunk and killed a guy (who also drunk) and got a manslaughter charge. Considering this only resulted in a broken arm/totalled car, i doubt he even gets that, probably just a DUI fine and maybe some traffic courses or some shit.

You're probably right. Last year, my mom had been rear ended by a drunk, and the person who hit her only got fines and lost her license for thirty days, then it became more because she was driving on a license that was three years expired.

Re: The Letting Off Steam Thread

Thu Aug 11, 2011 8:57 pm

Surprising how lightly those drunken drivers were punished. Perhaps there is a loophole in the law or the government doesn't really enforce it? :shake:

Anyways, your friend truly was lucky to get away without a severe injury. The insurance will handsomely pay for his injury I presume.

Re: The Letting Off Steam Thread

Why would anyone charge anyone else with attempted murder unless they were actually, y'know, attempting to murder someone?
