Sure they can. Ronaldo wanted to go to Madrid for a couple of years before he actually did. And he still cost them £80m.

I doubt we will consider anything less than a huge fee. After losing Alonso and Mascherano cheaply in the last couple of years, we have to stand firm here.

We don't need the money anyway.

The Daily Mirror are saying Chelsea will bid 60 million, the Daily Express are saying 45 million. Good to see the British tabloids keeping their reporting accuracy up.

Also Tottenham won't sell Andy Carroll for 23 mil.

Newcastle won't sell Carroll, Tottenham won't sell Gareth Bale.

Also there's the rumor of Stekelenburg to Man Utd and the possibility of Wenger loaning a defender. Hope so.

Oops yeah Newcastle. Tottenham are trying to buy Carroll

23m is a great price for Carroll, but not worth it if you consider that his goals are the best chance of keeping Newcastle from getting relegated.

Suarez passes medical
Luis Suarez is expected to complete his transfer from Ajax to Liverpool on Monday after successfully passing a medical this weekend.

The Club agreed a fee of up to 26.5million Euros with Ajax for the transfer of the Uruguayan international on Friday and a Liverpool FC spokesperson tonight said: "Luis Suarez has successfully passed his medical and personal terms with the player have been agreed. We expect to complete the remainder of the paperwork tomorrow."

Shame all this Torres crap has ruined the excitement about Suarez. I'm pretty sure he's our second most expensive signing ever. :D

Wow it's looking like Carroll to Liverpool and Torres to Chelsea

Both moves pretty much confirmed now..

Crazy. If Liverpool get Charlie Adam as well I think a haul of Adam/Suarez and Carroll is pretty good. Will help their marketing to have a star English striker on the team as well. Plus they'll have money left over to spend.

Sold Torres for £50m, which was great considering he wanted to leave. Ironically his first game for Chelsea could be against Liverpool.

But I think paying £35m for Carroll is a bit much. English players always cost like double what they should. Look at Darren Bent.

Oh well, will be nice to have 2 quality strikers on the pitch for a change.

I don't doubt Torres qualities and skills, but I wouldn't have paid 50m for him, considering the struggles he has had lately.

Yeah, that's because our fans are passionate about our club and our players. Image

Not like Chelsea's plastic flag waving band wagoners, that came along after Abramovich starting pouring money in.
Check out how pathetic they are. They can't even come up with an original banner, so they stole ours.

I imagine any bandwagoners we might have had just went to Chelsea with Torres.

"Maybe it's too soon to ask for a good reception. I'm not expecting that. But it would be a surprise for me if I get a very bad reception.''

:facepalm2: Is he really that ignorant?

I think he'll be lucky to leave the pitch with the use of his legs if Carragher is playing.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Halftime: Arsenal 4, Newcastle 0. Beautiful football, not a single flaw, 2-0 after only 3 minutes, just perfect.

Full time: Arsenal 4, Newcastle 4. Two penalties for Newcastle that didn't exist. Diaby basically sent off himself, Rosicky played for them.

I guess it's hard to win a trophy when your FA doesn't want you to win games.

Crazy results in the premier league overnight. When I went to bed Arsenal were winning 4-0 at half time. :?

£50m for 65 minutes. :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

We've done the double over Chelsea this season. 4 straight wins with no goals conceded. :bowdown2:
Only 6 points behind them now. Fourth is definitely a realistic goal now. Image
