Have been doing this Stock Market Game in one of my classes for the past couple months and I've checked out a bit, skipping classes, playing with my phone and taking laps around the hallways with classmates, since I'm in a group with one guy doing all the work. Well, a report on it is due tomorrow, so of course, I'm scrambling to do it, and what do you know? The stock market game is down.

So basically, I have bullshitted a paper based on little snippets of info I've heard from my group. Here's hoping he doesn't look into my other group member's reports and sees that it almost entirely contradicts their's...

Damn summer heat causing more sleeping problems. My 3-4 hours of sleep after the night shift is reduced to an hour to two. :(

Just started 2k11, my air conditioner has a surge, and everything turns on and off. My computer will no longer turn on. Dammit.

Sucks.

A water pipe burst underneath my driveway a couple days back. It's being fixed right now, but you have to tear up a good bit of the driveway to get to it. My house's water supply is inconsistent and muddy. :( At least it might be totally fixed tomorrow.

I was about to sleep around 10AM earlier today, when some people from the water systems began drilling on the roads in front of our home to fix some pipeline. They did that for three hours or more. :|

stabbed myself with a pair of scissors today

was taking that plastic tag thingy off a pair of sunglasses, slipped on the floor, and ended up embedding the sharp scissor deep into my palm on my left thumb.

at first I wasn't going to goto the hospital or anything since I got the bleeding to stop, until I found out that Kathryn uses those scissors to open the raw meat packages, and also remembered that my last tetanus shot was in 1999.

so a shot and some "deep scrubbing" of my cut, I'm all good, well, other than not being able to use my left thumb.

That doesn't sound too good. On the bright side, I can now challenge you to a southpaw thumb wrestling.

Ouch. Deep cuts and gashes suck.

Its going to be awkward using the left analog stock with your index finger, isnt it?

Don't know if the damn heat wave is done for now but it's been days since my laptop last shutdown due to the heat. I was able to finish some of my queued downloads by leaving it on overnight for the past days. The heat wave made the laptop unable to be used for long periods of time, it can't even play flash based games without shutting down after a few minutes.
Another reason might be that I recently upgraded the bios. I've been getting random shutdowns even before the heat wave. I hope the shutdowns are gone and it stays this way. I was even able to play 3 12 minute NBA 2K10 games two days ago without a sudden shutdown, which brings me to my steam.

My 30 years worth of 2K10 association is gone. GONE!
Reinstalled the game and all my saved files are gone. Association and even the edited roster I used for that association, all gone

I clearly remember leaving the saved files to be untouched during uninstall. Though I did leave the files in the appdata/roaming folder and not copying them to another location. Guess Windows auto deleted it since appdata is really a hidden folder, so my fault I guess.

I can't even install 2K11 for now because I lent my disc to a friend whom I won't be meeting until July or August. Lent it since I was planning to finish my 2K10 association before creating a new association in 2K11.
It's the postseason and I need my NBA basketball videogame fix!
Tried making a new association in 2K10 for my fix but it just wasn't the same and got bored easily. Considering that I traded for Dwight to be with Chris Paul in NO. Dwight getting 30+ points and Paul getting 20+ assists on most games, so much for having a challenge. I also don't have the patience right now to make a crappy team better.

Damn it all.

I've read instructions on bios flashing that have said you should set the bios to the setup defaults before flashing. You could try that and then re flash. Or try to find the instructions for your particular laptop and see if there is anything unique about bios updating.

My bad for not wording it properly. Stupid train of thought. What I meant was the random shutdowns are gone since flashing the bios that's why I was wondering if the heat wave here 'cooled' off since I'm not having random shutdowns anymore, but considering I was having those shutdowns even before the heat wave it's more probable that the bios update fixed my shutdown problems.

That's a good reminder about bios flashing though, but iirc flashing of the bios resets it to defaults anyway so you have to reapply your preferred bios settings once successfully updated, unless it shows otherwise when the bios settings is viewed after the update.

It turns out that 2 of my Pc's didn't need any replacement for cooling system but their videocards need to be replace because their capacitor got bloated. Can I just get a new capacitor with the same value and replace it? That would save me a lot of money.

You could test, though I doubt it would work.

I fucking hate presentations in classes. We had a project to do where we gave a student a standardized test. Grad students have to present our test to the class. People are taking 40 minutes because they cant sum things up. Mine was done without a powerpoint (we have document cameras, what the fuck do i need a powerpoint/prezi for?) and was done in 15 minutes. and got a 100 bitches. But people need to learn how to present in a reasonable time frame....especially if they're gonna be teachers.

I would have failed you.

What you're supposed to do is reprint entire book chapters on the Powerpoint slides in full paragraph form and then spend two hours reading every word off the slides.

And if you're asked any questions you shouldn't know and act like you didn't understand the question. Then just say something with similar words or refer to a prior slide even if it has nothing to do with it.

I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Also, does your institution offer instant tenure?

Yeah..the test manuals are only about 20 pages (if that) you actually need and 40 pages of statistics/bullshit no one reads. If you covered every single page you needed 20 minutes..

My personal favorite presentation of the year?

A lady did a project and read it word from word off the slide. It was like she had never read it before and she butchered basic middle school level words reading them but got her "medical" terminology right while reading it.
