The Milestone Thread

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

oh cmon mista, I know you are just a couple compliments away from trusting all of us completely to post about your drunken ghey adventures.
Opinions are my own.

Postby Dan's Brain on Fri Sep 05, 2008 2:35 pm

After 6 long, long years, I have finally reached the one grand milestone. I first started visiting the site back in 1999, when i was hunting down the Live 99 Official Patch. I found it and noticed the forum at the same time. I probably posted there as frequently as I post here (ie, not at all frequently), but still enjoyed reading a lot of the crap that people posted, and was an avid reader of some of the bitchy flame wars that made the site so entertaining.

None of my Real Life friends have any interest in basketball or the NBA, so the site has always given me a good outlet to listen to what intelligent people have to say about basketball, and also , (perhaps more importantly) what some total douchebags have to say.

I do enjoy the boneheads as much as the intelligent posters, so my first shout-out collectively goes to all of them. Keep doing what you're doing and reminding me why I'm an OK person.

Secondly, thanks to the folks who have brains. I dont always respond to you, mainly because i refuse to admit that I'm wrong (which i never am, anyway), but you are good people, and i always like to hear what you have to say.

Finally, shout-out to Andrew for your continued good work in running the site and for your always quality posts.

Thanks to the forum at large, and i'll see you for another thousand. :chug:

1500 ... I think that is pretty poor considering that Im registered since 2005, but I just want to thank this nice community which turned out to be the one and only in terms of basketball and basketball video games for me.

My respect for Andrew and his crew. Thanks !

Pretty poor? 1500 posts in 3 years? I just ticked over 1000 in 6 years. That's poor. Or not. Depending on how you look at it.

Anyway, congrats. :chug:

Exactly. Being here for a year or two and having thousands of posts is poor.

Anyways, congrats to everyone celebrating a milestone.

I don't like to think what that means for someone with, oh, say...35000 posts. :(

It was probably only 35000 posts at the time. Not long now until I surpass Kareem's all-time points record...except in forum posts. Not quite as impressive a feat.

The bigger your post count the bigger your toe. If you're lucky enough, the feet.
