Yeah, I hope Brazil kicks some serious ass although I do have a soft spot for Zidane.

Brazil stands though.

Nice very nice of Portugal, bastards kick out Holland and now England.

nice game.. england battled without a man but in the end Ricardo played very well..
i hope it´s Brazil who will get Portugal on the semifinals..

What about Podolski? 3 goals already.

And, oh yeah: England sucks so badly at penalties. I can't believe it! Ricardo pwned the shit outta them.

Congrats to Portugal!

I've been thinking that everytime I see him play. He's always making something happen even if it doesnt result in a goal. Thats much better than the conservative style all the other English stars were playng during matches.

I've also been thinking that about Messi. I dont understand why he doesnt play every match. The occasions I saw him he looked like the most dangerous guy on the pitch countless times. Teams keep going with the veteran guys who mostly start based on name not play. Eddie Johnson is another guy on the US team who shoulda seen more time on the pitch. I feel bad for guys like Robinho because (even though Ronaldo is my favourite player) Ronaldo would have been benched after those opening two games by many coaches if it wasnt for his name. At least now he is playing like Ronaldo of old.

after a good start Brazil just stop playing for the rest of the half.. thank god it ended.. i hope it comes with a new posture for the 2nd half, without missing so many patches and stuff...
and lol Ronaldinho´s headband is so gay

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:04 am

Yea that headband does look a bit retarded.

Brazil will be packing their bags in a few hours if they dont step up their game for the second half.

Thoughts so far (1st half)

-They are giving Zidane too much respect and he is making use of all the room they have giftwrapped for him. This isnt a damn farewell tour for him, tackle the guy.

-They are playing way too high on Henry in a few instances and if not for a better placed ball he woulda been through with his speed and had a goals.

-Ronaldinho has been a bit more assertive when he gets the ball compared to previous games. This may be because he wants a good showing against Henry's team after he flopped in the Champions League final.

-Kaka isnt matching Ronaldinho. Besides a couple half chances, he hasnt looked at his most effective.

-Juan is damn lucky he didnt get a red card and I believe the main reason is because the refs are probably tired of being criticized for deciding games on their calls. Its kinda unfair but hey, such is life.

-Vieira was also lucky he wasnt called for a dive since, if you look closer in the replay, he was already falling and dragging his foot (to make contact) before the tackle came in.

-Overall, France has clearly looked the more dangerous of the two but as is the theme of the Brazilian World Cup so far, everyone comes out looking like they are gonna upset then they get lulled to sleep by Brazil's crappy play which leads to a goal being scored by them at an unexpected time. Hopefully this remains true.

Nope, not really.

Brazil better equalize soon. Thats what they get for this shitty football they have been playing this match. I have faith so I still expect them to win.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:18 am

YAAAA!!! HELL YEAAAAA......... GREAT KICK BY HENRY!!!
And Zidane is like a soccer magician, so smooth and silky (Y)

Go France, keep it up...

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:20 am

Ooooo shit that was close, ball went a few cm's from the goal line...if Thierry put his leg wouldve been 2-0!

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:22 am

Hopefully Adriano will make a difference. Brazil need to do something on the pitch besides putting me on the brink of a heart attack.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:33 am

15 minutes left...

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:36 am

Yup and they made the move I expected. Cafu for Cicinho. I have said it before that i felt Cicinho should be starting. Cafu hasnt been very effective and made me pretty pissed when he screwed up an excellent move by Ronaldinho.

Whats funny is that I watched Brazil play France on PES5 today (CPU vs CPU) and they lost 1-0. Kinda wished I didnt now.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:39 am

France has to hang in there, they had more shots on goal, corners and they played better overall...10 min left!

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:42 am

Brazil needs a miracle at this point. Maybe the Ronaldinho that tore up La Liga may atually show up and preserve their dignity.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:49 am

A few minutes left!!! Yup looks like France will advance

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:52 am

ITS OVER!!! Im going with France all the way now!

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:55 am

great game (Y) too bad Brazil lost

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:55 am

Damn, somebody needs to tell Zidane is 2006 and not 98. He played like the best player in the world today (Y)

I'm rooting for Germany now.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 7:00 am

After the game Ronaldo just leaves angrily and didn't even bother congratulating Zidane. :x Good luck France and Germany!!

Sun Jul 02, 2006 7:03 am

I'm rooting for Portugal now, just to piss off my sister.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 7:05 am

VIVA LA FRANCE! I'm so fucking happy Brazil got kicked out. France played a fucking awesome game, especially Zidane (this is to demonstrate he still can play waaaaaaay better than the one who is actually the best player in the world: Ronaldinho)
This shuts up the mouth of some people who thinks Brazil is the best team in the world *cough*dadamafia*cough*. The real thing is: Brazil didn't play a good world cup, and most of its players played really bad.
Too bad England lost, but I think Portugal deserved it. I'm now hoping Germany eliminates Italy and then looses against France in the finals 8-)

lol i playted it on fifa world cup and i lost by 1-0 too!!

ah well.. France deserved it... Parreira is very stupid he shoul´ve putten Cicinho and Robinho right after the goal not with five minutes left...
also wtf was Roberto Carlos doing with his socks while Henry scored..
i dont know what´s it about France but every time Brazil play against them they freeze...

Sun Jul 02, 2006 7:17 am
