The Letting Off Steam Thread

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Just had a game. I was trying to get out of a trap, they slapped my hand and grabbed my hand, then the refs called me for fucking travel. I yelled at them, and they T'ed me up. Of course, they don't call a T on the other team, when they're screaming "How the hell is that not a foul? He tripped me idiot." We won by the way :D

I asked a soccer ref once how much the other team payed him to not call their fouls. He couldn't do anything because he knew it was true.

I showed a ref the black bruises from where I was being hit on the arm after a game once.

He sorta laughed and said "well they were the home team"

actually about 2 years later i ended up camp counselor at the camp run by the team that had kicked the shit out of us. We played no blood no foul when the admins went to bed. Got some revenge then.

Now with the stricter T rules, they are being instructed to be douchebags. :shake: as if they needed instruction before...

What? David Stern says the referees are the best out there, nay the best human beings out there:
“You guys know that our referees go out there and knock themselves out to do the best job they can, but we’ve got coaches who will do whatever takes to work them publicly. And what that does is erode fan confidence and then you get some of the situations that we have.
...
“Players and coaches alike. They give the impression to our fans that referees somehow have an agenda. Yeah, they have an agenda – to knock themselves out to give the best calls that they can give, and then to send their checks home to their mothers and give the rest to charity.”

How dare you call these hard working humanitarians douchebags?

Ahhh... that ref was being so nice to Jones he decided to give him a chest bump.

What a nice human being.

The ref told me that the center I played in changed the Tech rules to make it NBA like.

They were reluctant to call a Tech on a guy who threw me down with 1.76 seconds left. They sucked like shit

My new laptop has not been what I was expecting. It runs everything great, games, videos, all that stuff, it's the drivers and stuff.

First, it just wouldn't find wifi networks, though I have one at home. It found none, when my iPod found like 5. Got that sorted out yesterday.

Now today, was at school and muted the volume in class, now got home and saw, I don't have any audio driver installed at all. I don't have the audio driver CD too, as it was already installed.

:x

If anyone can help, that'd be great. Using Win Vista 64-bit.

Here it is:

It's Turkish... If you go down a bit, you'll see. With this, I turned the commentary back at NBA 2K10.

Tried that before, also tried recovery manager, enable/disable in Adminstrative tools, installing differemt drivers, but nothing.

Did a system restore. Luckyly I didn't have many files on this new one, so much wasn't lost. (A couple of 2K save games). Didn't think I'll be formatting my new laptop before it's 2 weels old.

This is my new favorite thread! Below average day today.

- Favorite teacher got fired for being incompetent (he was incompetent but not the most incompetent)
- Failed my Math test (to be fair though, I didn't study and am kind of a moron)
- The youth basketball team I was supposed to coach for a super important project needed to graduate is now to be coached by a parent (who applied to coach at the last minute, mind you, but I guess its my fault for having poor karma)
- My earbuds broke (well, one side quit working, but I need to take better care of them)
- With fear of losing my "friends" by venting to them too much, I have to take my torments to South (NLSC message) Board

I'm in an argument on another forum about whether or not LeBron is better than Kobe. It was all travelling in the usual fashion (Kobe has more rings, rings mean everything, stats are irrelevant), which is bad enough, and then one guy had the temerity to point out that Shaquille O'Neal never won a championship until he got Kobe on his team. I want to slap these people.

For stating the truth?

I can see why you're getting mad though if they're denying the fact you're better than Lebron. I'd take that personally too.

It might be true, but the idea that Kobe was more important to the Lakers' first three titles than Shaq (which was the point being made) is insane.

Playing one on one basketball in the rain with leaves on the ground is a bad idea. I fucking ripped open my hand and can barely hold a pencil. This week is starting to feel even longer...

Heck, I once almost fell (to my death!) on a beach side cliff because of dry leaves on the walking path.

I don't need others to tell me I'm stupid. I tell myself I'm stupid. I'm feeling alright right now. Going to play basketball because it's dry outside.
