Yao is a beast in this game and T-Mac never misses.
Plus they got good role players in Battier, Alston and etc.
Tue Jan 09, 2007 1:12 am
my last online game was just a dunk contest between Tmac (me) and VC. just back and forth dunk dunk dunk. I won because Yao swatted him so much (I think like 12 blocks).
Tue Jan 09, 2007 4:36 am
nah they don't even use Yao unless it's for blocking... they just ballhog with TMac and the Rockets D is so overrated its impossible to consistently score on them.
what pisses me off is when you hit a shot, they race to the other end and throw it to get behind your D as if they were playing Madden or something.
Tue Jan 09, 2007 4:45 am
Yao is pretty much unstopable if they get the ball to him on a regular basis. He posts you up and hits that jumper he makes it everytime. And if you double Yao in the low post McGrady is always there to make the jumpshot.

Has anyone tried the College Hoops 2K7 Draft Import feature yet? How does it work?
Tue Jan 09, 2007 2:11 pm
Can you download the latest 360 roster update on the basic Live account, or do you still need a Gold account?
Tue Jan 09, 2007 2:20 pm
Need the Gold Account for roster updates.
I dont think the Rockets are that hard to beat, Yao is quite easy to stop when you double team him in the post.
My dynasty has gotten boring with the Nuggets who do you guys recommend i use i dont want a dominate side an average to crap team would be best. I'm thinking maybe the Bucks or the Sixers.
Tue Jan 09, 2007 8:21 pm
Go Sixers then CMJ, but release Webber, so he stays on your cap & you don't use him

Today I was playing an online game, with the Bucks, it was my first game with them and i had an insane shooting percentage: 75%
Anyway anybody signed up for the nba 2k7 tourney with a chance to see the all star game

I played a pretty fun game with the Bucks last night against Miami. I played without Redd, Simmons, Villanueva and Mo since they're all injured IRL and started with Blake/Bell/Patterson/Skinner/Bogut, signed Mateen Cleaves/Ricky Minard/Clarence Weatherspoon for some more depth.
Miami were full strength and straight away I started attacking inside with Patterson... he scores most of his buckets inside IRL so I figured I'd try the same. Somehow I managed to get Shaq, Zo, Haslem, Walker, Williams in foul trouble before the end of the first, so I was basically up against a lineup of Payton/Wade/Posey/Simien/Doleac. I put Ersan Illyasova in at PF, he scored 6 points in our last game so I wasn't expecting much but somehow he ended up with 12 points in 3 minutes, he was way way way too quick for Simien to handle and got to the hole so easily.
Anyways so the game continued like this, we were starting to blow them out since most of their guys had foul trouble, then they'd bring them back in and catch up a bit before I'd throw in Ersan or Patterson and keep attacking inside... Ersan had 23 at the half and we were up by over 30. They managed to keep most of their guys on the court for the whole 3rd quarter and I had to rest Ersan, they brought it back to within 15 leading into the fourth.
They caught right up and got it back to single digits, Ersan was still going nuts (I have no idea how, he was just too quick for all of the guys they threw at him) and Patterson was doing pretty well, surprisingly Mateen Cleaves ended the game as the 3rd highest scorer for the Bucks with 16 including one massive dunk on Shaq. Anyways they caught up, we pulled away a little bit and then ended up getting Shaq, Walker and Williams all fouled out. We won 114-94, Ersan ended up with 46 points

all pretty much within the flow of the offense.

Nice.. Im about to start a dynasty. For fun i created a guy (73 overall - rookie) and i'm gonna bring him up like the Lakers did with Kobe.. hes gonna be my future star..
Dont who else i should get in the team.. I know im starting Barbosa at SG so my guy can eventually take the starting spot after a season or two, but other than that i dunno..
Im thinking a mix of old and young guys so i can play inside aswell as fast break..
My first ideas were Dirk with a young PG (eg. Parker, Deron, Paul, Hinrich), Amare with a veteran PG (Baron, Kidd, Dre Miller etc), Duncan/Garnett with a young PG/SF (same PGs as listed earlier/Caron Butler, Josh Howard etc for SFs), Baron Davis/Kidd with a young PF/C (Dwight Howard, Okafor, Bosh or someone)..
The guy i created basically has the potential to be the next Kobe.. good shooting, good inside game, good defense (except looks for teammates hehe)..
Any ideas for how i can fill a team (like player types) to accomodate when this guy turns into an MVP? Who would play well with a team like this etc?

Sixers seem interesting, i had a look at the team today in depth and they have a pretty bright future and Iggy looks fun to use.
Ill get rid of Webber but who should start at the 4, maybe i can pick up a cheap PF from another team or i could start Hunter at the 4 and Dalambert at the 5.
But then i look at the Bucks they have Redd, Bogut, Villanueva who all look fun to use and good to build a championship team around. I might just have a play around with both teams and look at some others.

Did you say Iguodala looks fun to use after watching the Sixers/Detroit game today?
Cos thats exactly what i was thinking after i did

Does anyone else run with the Knicks? What are the strategies you use?
Thu Jan 11, 2007 5:36 am
nah it's all about the Wizards... one of the top offenses, ok D and decent rebounding. except for some reason Jamison is a shitty rebounder in this game
Thu Jan 11, 2007 10:41 am
I never considered the Wizards actually they seem the perfect team to use, they got some youth in Blatche and Taylor an awesome scorer in Arenas and two solid roleplayer to star type players in Jamison and Butler. I'm gonna give them a try.
Sat Jan 13, 2007 11:09 am
well, there's no taylor in the game, so they're a little weak at the guuard spot. but daniels comes in really well for arenas and i usually bring in Hayes at the 2.

2k7 for US$39.99 at Circuit City - I grabbed a copy even though I've already got it for original Xbox.

it's worth it... don't feel so bad.. i got the ps2 & 3 versions...
edit: why is it that the mascots look better than 75% of the players?

Yeh I've done it, I've dumped all the big salaries for draft picks to teams like the bobcats and hawks..

I just bought the game and was wondering what method to use to update my rosters. I wanted to add Paul Millsap and other rookies into the game and couldn't find them but when I played online, he was on the Jazz. and others were available. Could someone please explain how the rosters work because I'm new to the series. Thanks.
Thu Jan 18, 2007 1:39 pm
Use the 2k7 thread and i just update them manually by creating players seeing as the 360 has a detailed create a player.
Thu Jan 18, 2007 1:41 pm
Well, 2Ksports updates their rosters about once a month, and they add some rookies, but only significant ones. Download the roster update from Xbox Live Marketplace. It hasn't been updated since early December, so you could either manually update them (I do that) or just wait for the update. Last time I checked, they don't even have the Iverson Trade.

Yeah, I started off making the updates manually but then during an online game, I saw updated rosters with player portraits. I checked on marketplace but couldn't find any roster updates, only demos, videos, and picture packs. Can you tell more specifically where I should look for the official updates? Thanks.

Going to merge this into the 2k7 sticky thread!
You need to download the rosters through the game itself if you catch my meaning. Through the 'online desk' I believe. But you require a Gold account to download them. For player ratings etc. try going to the 2k sports forums or operation sports. There's another site that does only 2k games, specifically rosters and CAPs but I can't remember it from the top of my head. May stumble upon it in the 2k forums though.
