Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

They did that with Miz and his constant fake cash-ins, though I don't know if it's been used before/after that.
One other thing about Raw: DQ for a thumb to the eye? Really?

When it comes to rules and technicalities, it's a case of whatever works for what they want to do in the current angle. It'd be nice if they kept better track of these things, uphold a little more consistency and common sense. It's like Undertaker being stripped of the championship in 2008 for using Hell's Gate, a "dangerous" and "banned" hold. Brutal match inside an Elimination Chamber or Hell in a Cell? No worries, the WWE can totally sanction that! It did achieve its purpose of course, it got Edge and Vickie tremendous heat and allowed them to write Taker out a couple of months later for some brief time off, but it came off as being quite silly.

That was Vickie making up whatever rules were necessary to help Edge, though, so consistency and logic isn't required. They could have had Barrett give Orton a low blow just as easily. Same effect, doesn't ignore the billions of times eye pokes, rakes and gouges get nothing more than a reprimand.

wasn't it just 2 weeks ago when he tried to cash in on Henry but supposedly Henry was "unfit to perform" or something like that so it didn't count
Fri Dec 23, 2011 9:43 pm
It certainly was. That's probably a better example of the inconsistency than the Taker/Edge situation.

Yeah, that's exactly why I asked. When I saw it I thought to myself "ah, they're not gonna count it again, because Big Show wasn't up", but they kept going.

I guess if we want to try and justify it in the storyline, Big Show had just finished a match and couldn't have been declared unfit to perform by a doctor as yet, whereas Mark Henry came out that week and kayfabe hadn't been cleared to wrestle that night.

So this "cryptic" "It Begins" series of viral videos (and different YouTube accounts), still had me guessing who or what's coming back.
Thu Dec 29, 2011 5:12 am
it just so happens to coincide with Brodus Clay's debut, so maybe it's someone coming to "save" the WWE from the big monster. Skip Sheffield is set is return with a new gimmick so it could be him but my hopes are for Jericho
Thu Dec 29, 2011 9:07 am
Jericho recently posted a Tweet claiming to be done with WWE which could very well be true, but it would be within his style to work everyone with a fairly blunt Tweet like that. At this point I'd guess Undertaker because we definitely know he's still under contract while Jericho isn't, but Jericho is a close second. My third choice would be Vince McMahon returning in an on-screen authority role.
Thu Dec 29, 2011 10:35 am
yeah i guess taker would be a good choice too. it's about the time he'd need to come back for a wrestlemania storyline
Thu Dec 29, 2011 10:37 am
That's the idea. There have been rumblings that it'll be his last Wrestlemania, in which case I hope he does go out on top and extend the streak to 20-0. I feel he's earned it.
Thu Dec 29, 2011 11:15 am
If Taker does return, who will his opponent be come Wrestlemania?
Thu Dec 29, 2011 11:30 am
I guess it's between HHH or Kane. HHH because of the "when you come back, I will be waiting" promo after Wrestlemania, and Kane because it would make much sense if he's 'Taker's final Wrestlemania opponent.
Thu Dec 29, 2011 11:43 am
Those would be my guesses too. Or Jericho.
Thu Dec 29, 2011 12:45 pm
dirt sheets said HHH with Shawn Michaels as the ref
Thu Dec 29, 2011 1:10 pm
Haven't read that one yet but that wouldn't be a terrible scenario. I'd hate to see the streak end on a dirty finish though, let alone at all.
Thu Dec 29, 2011 1:20 pm
got it from here
http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=64398&p=1For those who missed today's show, Mike Johnson and I talked a lot about WWE plans for WrestleMania, including the current plan of a HHH vs. Undertaker match with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee.
Thu Dec 29, 2011 4:55 pm
Fair enough. I really only check out WNW these days, they tend to be on the money more often than not.

The latest mystery video on Youtube featured a shot of a notebook with the name "Chris" crossed out on the cover.
It is Jericho, ... the globe is because he is the best in the world and the boy is in timeout, while the girl (punk) takes over. He is coming back to reclaim the title as best in the world and to regain the wwe title. THE END BEGINS, this is jericho's last comeback.
Y: year 2012
2: second day of
J: january
Y2J
i honestly would be really disappointed if it wasnt jericho after reading all this
Thu Dec 29, 2011 5:21 pm
That post you quoted was in reference to Taker's Wrestlemania opponent.
The pieces definitely seem to fit for the videos pointing towards Chris Jericho. The only possible snag is whether or not he's signed a new contract.
Fri Dec 30, 2011 12:49 am
And I hope it's the heel Y2J that comes back.
Fri Dec 30, 2011 1:42 am
Then a Punk v Y2J at mania then?
Fri Dec 30, 2011 1:45 am
I hope so. But whoever comes back next Monday will either face Undertaker or screw the Punk-Ziggler match (which I expect to be pretty awesome).
