look at how they handle it in the spiderman universe. spidey is seen nitting his own shit together again when it gets destroyed.

In some early version of Superman his cloth was a living alien thing as well. Think of it like his momma performed plastic surgery on the cloth to make it into a suit.

Superman isn't made of steel. In the true "world of Superman" (i.e. comic canon) he projects a bioelectric "aura" that serves as a personal force field. Since this is immediately around his body and his cape extends past his body, it's always getting shredded while he remains undamaged. A cartoon is not canon and therefore can make up whatever stupid rules it wants.
