I was bored today and I started doing transfers in PES, I ended up amazed at Madrid's complete squad, you can make two units, just incredible:

One team: Casillas; Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Metzelder, Arbeloa; C. Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Gago, Kaká; Raúl, Benzema.
Second: Dudek; Arbeloa, Garay, Albiol, Marcelo; Van der Vaart, Sneijder, Guti, Robben; Higuain, Van Nistelrooy.
And more: Miguel Torres, Lassana Diarra, M. Diarra, Granero, Negredo.

Off-topic: Planning a PES story, I need you guys to follow or I soon lose interest
:P

That's like what, your 100th PES story now? At least finish one before you start a new one. Again.

I know man, but it's hard to committ to things. It would be my 3rd PES story.

Man, on the 12th of August Estonia faces Brazil in soccer here in Estonia. All big names are coming, I predict 4-0 score. For Brazil, of course. But it's nice to see such stars like Kaka here.

Very poor 1-0 win by Brazil. Argentina won 3-2 at Russia, nice game. So, Premier League starts tomorrow. Any predictions? I think Manchester City, Everton and Aston Villa will fight for that 4th spot. If Arsenal starts in a great form like last year, maybe we can keep it up until the end if no injuries occur. Praying for a new signing!

Chelsea - Hull, first game, if there is a time in fantasy PL to get high points from your Chelsea players, it will be tonight, and I'm counting on Anelka to dominate and a bag a goal (or two, or three)

Speaking of fantasy football, this is my team at FoxSports...

GK: Given

D: Hangeland
D: Micah Richards
D: Knight
D: Givet

M: Geovanni
M: Arshavin
M: Valencia
M: Scott Parker

F: Torres
F: Rooney

Sub: Darren Bent

Captain: Rooney

The defence is a bit weak but I wanted to make sure I had two really strong strikers, I'm happy with the midfield also.

Arsenal DEMOLISHED Everton at Goodison Park: 6-1 (Denilson, Vermaelen, Gallas, Fabregas x2, Eduardo; Saha.)

and they are the only big 4 team that really were convincing. Man Utd scraped through with a 1-0 win at home. Chelsea, well, Drogba.. enough said. Quality free kick and then that chip (yes I know he really didnt mean it ) in the 90th minute to win it for them. Liverpool lost 2-1, pretty fucking poor if you ask me but I'm glad they lost, against Tottenham and that Assou-Ekotto (sp?) goal was unbelieveable

I downloaded the Match Of The Day (i.e all the EPL goals/etc) highlights for this round, still haven't watched them yet.I had a feeling Arsenal would be good still, I did think they'd leak goals so that remains to be seen but the latest rumours are that they are close to signing Van der vaart, which would give them yet another tool (and an upgrade over Denilson/Nasri IMO) to use in order to molest whoever they play next.

That team looks nothing like mine :P Then again, I know more about A League (47th place in Fantasy Team contest at moment) than EPL (about 3000th place after picking up 49pts from Round 1).

What's your team look like? I ended up with 47 points, made some changes though:

G: Given

D: Hangeland
D: Richards
D: Knight
D: Upson

M: Koumas
M: Arshavin
M: Valencia

F: Torres
F: Rooney
F: Bent

Bench: Parker

Tue Aug 18, 2009 8:40 pm

G: Schwarzer

D: Hughes
D: A. Cole
D: Bosingwa
D: O'Shea

M: Kuyt
M: Malbranque
M: Neville
M: Gerrard (Captain)

F: Van Persie
F: Ebanks-
Blake

Bench: Crouch

Although given injury to Ebanks-Blake, he will be changed, but I hope to bring him back later once he's healthy again.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

I'd consider getting rid of Crouch and Ebanks, then replacing them with a more prolific/top-line striker and just someone trash on the bench since they don't count.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Tue Aug 18, 2009 9:19 pm

Yep, will definitely consider it. Am aware of my frontline lacking enough firepower.

Man Utd lost to Burnley, lol.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Mon Aug 31, 2009 2:52 pm

Haha, that was a great day. ^^^^
But they managed to sneak away with a victory against Arsenal. With a penalty and own goal :?

IMO, Chelsea will be taking the premiership this season. And possibly the Champions League but only time will tell, you never know who will come up with the European Crown.

Isn't everything one says in their opinion?

I love the statement the offender made after this.
"I don't play to hurt people and was going for the ball."
Sure. I've never seen anyone play a ball by kicking in a downward motion. Just happened to kick another person's leg in half. No intention whatsoever. That's like saying, I was only fucking the ho. I didn't want to make babies. Lol.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Mon Aug 31, 2009 8:21 pm

Can't tell really. It also looks like he was trying to stop the ball not kick it.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Mon Aug 31, 2009 8:35 pm

I think this guy should be banned from football. Or at least don't allow him to play until the other one recovers. If he does at all. It was an open leg fracture. Those could end a career. I mean I've kicked people myself while playing football, but this is retarded.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Mon Aug 31, 2009 8:49 pm

I should have made my previous post more clear.

At that moment, it didn't look intentional, at least to me. It looked like he was trying to stop the ball, which unfortunately he stepped and breaked that other guy's leg.

But the way he smiled after getting that redcard seemed like he was happy with what he just did.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:10 pm

Perhaps I could add something too.

I'm sure he didn't mean to break the leg and was aiming for the meaty part of the leg and had the bad luck to get the boney part. But going from the motion, connecting with the leg was his intent.
