Why? If I remember correctly (and I do), Italy failed to do shit with a 10 on 9 advantage.

USA failed to do shit with an 11 on 10 advantage

USA had the advantage for 20 minutes...Italy for 43.

i wonder what type of referee blunders we'll see. I mean, this is the WORST refereeing i've ever seen. Hopefully noththing to cost a team the win. Australia was lucky......2 penalty no calls, that guy with 3 yellows.....if they hadn't advanced i'm pretty sure Harry Kewell would have killed the ref.

Italy are good, but they haven't done anything special in competitions recently so i wouldnt get too hyped.

Well, Italy are probably the best divers in World football... it worked for the Japs, I think we're pretty much screwed.

Actually I'm pretty scared of Germany. They have a great team and a great coach too... I think Argentina and Germany will meet at the quarter finals. Germany's gonna eat Sweden alive...

I feel sweet will upset Germany. Normally I would go with the Germans but I just have a feeling the Swedes are being overlooked and people tend to forget they have some nice quality up front. They'll give Germany a run for their money.

Klose is playing really well, he's creating a lot of chances and set up both goals.

Damn, this is disappointing Sweden is playing alright (not nearly at their full potential though), but Germany simply does better with the ball and it tends to go their way, which is why they're ahead. But hopefully Sweden will have a good talk at half-time and come back out fighting like they did in '94 against Rumania.

By the way, was I the only one a little disheartened by the referee laughing at Lucic when giving him that red card? (Which was harsh call by the way)..

edit: Damn Tough loss for Sweden, but Germany was just too solid. They're a very strong team and a top 3 team for sure If it wasn't for the red card, I recon we would have stood a small chance to stage a come-back; but that missed penalty was what pretty much it. And not to pass blame or anything, but I did not like the referee. First, he was giving advantages to Germany, then after the red card, he was giving them to Sweden. I hate it when judges do that; trying to make up for an earlier call or preference..

Nice win by Argentina. surprised they struggled with putting Mexico away. Messi was splendid.
