Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Not exactly, he approached Bret wanting to break their deal and allow him to negotiate with/jump ship to WCW. When Bret wouldn't drop the title to HBK at the 1997 Survivor Series in Montreal, the doublecross was planned and the Screwjob went down. It certainly didn't do much for their relationship though, with most of the animosity coming from Bret (and understandably so), thus it was years before they could do business again.

Sauru wrote:there is so much talk about vince not letting randy into the hall of fame, maybe he was the one that wanted no part in the wwe? personally i hope thats it cause it would be a huge shame if vince was so petty as to refuse the fans (that made him and his buisness what it is today) from seeing something they truely want and deserve to see and that allowing the macho man into the HOF. of course we are already robbed of the satisfaction of seeing him up there on stage and being able to witness the final performance of the macho man

Vince has been known to be petty (one only has to look at his treatment of Jim Ross over the years, despite being one of the best announcers he's ever had if not the best), but without knowing the full details I can't condemn him completely for the situation with Randy Savage. We don't know what line Savage might have crossed, he could have well and truly burned his bridges. He was featured in WWE All-Stars though, so perhaps the bitterness has passed and he'll be inducted in the near future.

If the main Randy Savage rumour is true (the one about Steph) I can understand him holding a grudge. That's a huge if though.

no matter how much he may hate savage the fans love him and i think he owes it to the fans to put him into the hall. i am positive the fans want macho in more than he ever wanted himself in so by leaving him out he is spitting in the fans face much more so than savages

We'll just have to see. As I said, Macho Man is in the WWE All-Stars game so maybe the rift has been healed and given the circumstances, any lingering grudges will be put aside. They also released a Macho Man DVD set a couple of years back so it might happen at some point.

Speaking of individuals yet to be inducted, it's a shame it's taking so long for Owen Hart to get the nod but given his widow is still pretty vindictive and is trying to sue them over the Hart Family DVD because he appears on the cover, their hands could be tied on that one. The Ultimate Warrior is another name you could throw out there but he well and truly burned his bridges and is completely insane to boot, so I don't blame the WWE one bit for holding out on inducting him. Chris Benoit is obviously a tragic case, he would've been a lock for the HOF but there's just no way they can ever do it, it'd be a PR nightmare.

He does that every fucking week.

I won that from Shock back in 2009. Am still waiting for it to arrive. Not holding my breath, though.

Or so the rumour goes. As I said before, I reckon it's more likely due to what Bret Hart recounted in his book.

i got really bored last night and watched smackdown. it wasn't a complete waste of time, as HHH is bringing some positive things to the show. there was an old-school PIP promo by Shaemus as Christian was coming to the ring. then they showed HHH vs Big show from a long time ago, which i did not care for. i guess HHH doesn't want people to forget who he is. there was only one "recap" segment which was nice, but i wouldve preferred 1 or 2 more matches instead of the HHH match and recap. there were some decent matches, but the whole Orton/Christian storyline was annoying

Yup. It was a competition to win either Judgment Day 09 or Macho Madness. Enter your details, they list (and email) the winners and send out the DVDs randomly. A few weeks after the winners were announced, it still hadn't showed, and pretty much everyone else had the same issue. I sent a followup email, and was told there'd been a shipping problem and they'd be sending both Judgment Day and Macho Madness to all the winners to make up for the delay. I still haven't received either of them.

they're establishing him as the #2 heel behind miz. r-truth continues to have no music, which is weird to me. the least they could've done is use the old music and have him not dance and say "shut up" instead of "what's up"
ppv:
another great match by christian/orton. orton got a bit of whiplash (legitimate) on a superplex but continued on in the match. i think christian could possibly turn heel and be the #1 heel on SD
sin cara with another botched finisher, but chavo sold it so it didnt look that bad
i'm shocked that king didn't make cole kiss his own foot like bret hart did in their match
cool spot in the miz/cena match that was semi-botched where an open chair was wedged into the ropes and miz's finale was supposed to smash cena's face into the chair, but miz's foot knocked the chair down

The Miz a heel?

More like patriot hero.

He should be considered similar to SEAL Team Six imo.

Sounds like a decent end to the Lawler/Cole feud, assuming of course it is the end. The logical thing to do would be to give Cole a rest from TV for a least a couple of weeks to help put the angle behind them but I fear that even if there aren't any more matches, Cole will be in the booth for tomorrow's RAW ready to spoil the commentary and detract from the show as usual.

i bought that game just to use the macho man. he is pretty much the only one i will use at all. kinda fun but gets boring pretty fast if not for savage being in the game i would have skipped it. would like to see him in a legends game that was more realistic with the match types of the past. i thought he was going in this year for some reason. had truely believe this was the year the macho man was going to get inducted, i believe it more than ever now. what better way to put a grudge behind you than to outlive the one you had it with?

WWE seems to prefer not to overload each class with too many of the "top" legends, usually going with one or two major names per year so they can essentially be the headliner of the class. This year was about HBK, so anyone else of similar stature was going to have to wait their turn.

You guys checked out the Ultimate Warrior tribute to Macho Man? He seems REALLY sane/normal/stable, quite moving to watch

i am sorry i meant the next wrestlemania. i see how saying "this year" was confusing but i really meant next year down in florida. i fully believe he was going in and now i am almost certain of it

was nice to see them do something for him during raw though i wish they put in some current wrestlers comments about him or from some of the hall of famers. also nice to see cm punk showing respect to the macho man

In that case I'm inclined to agree, seems like a pretty good chance of it happening now especially in light of the tribute on RAW.

I guess, but again I don't think it's fair to condemn Vince entirely without knowing the exact circumstances of his heat with Macho Man. It's easy for us to say Vince should've let bygones be bygones but there are plenty of people out there holding grudges against Vince. Why should he have to forgive and forget when they're allowed to hold onto their bitterness?

I do think Lawler's words on RAW ring true though, whatever happens he is a Hall of Famer. It'd be nice if they officially give him his due but I think perhaps the bigger story here is that another wrestler has left us far too soon. 58 is far too young, though the actual cause of death has yet to be determined. I know it's a bit callous to speculate but there were times in Macho Man's career where he really looked to be on the juice, if it was a heart attack then it may well be related.
