Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

They've well and truly dropped the ball with them at this point, the angle has run its course. Time to repackage those guys, maybe try and resurrect the tag team division. It's wishful thinking, but that's what I'd do with them at this point.

I'd rather they just fired Jackson and Slater, and let the other two work singles.

Sure, that'd work too. In any case, seems like it's time to put an end to the Corre/Nexus stuff.

I'd be surprised if we see any of the punted Nexus guys any time soon.

Triple H & The Undertaker Fined For Chair Shot At Wrestlemania XXVII

Superstars Fined for Chair Shot

Pursuant to WWE's Concussion policy, the stunt of using a folded metal chair shot to the head is prohibited. Triple H and The Undertaker have both been fined for violating this policy at WrestleMania XXVII. WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension for violation of this policy, which is unchanged and still in effect.

Huh. I thought both HHH and Undertaker would have been ok with that.
Unless there was really some legit heat between the two during the match or the WWE just trying to strictly enforce a policy and avoid criticisms of 'superstar' treatment within the company.

I'd say it was just to reinforce the ban on chairshots to the head. They obviously didn't get clearance to do the spot, so the fine is a show of good faith to the workers who are lower on the totem pole.

Despite the fact that the chair never went near 'Taker's head. Stupid.

I've no problem with them banning unprotected shots, but I fail to see why they need to ban the protected ones too. It really doesn't carry any more risk than anything else they do in the ring.

He definitely got his right arm up, I didn't think it was "protected" at first.

They say its all about concussions but you don't want kids bashing each other in the head either. Especially in the PG era where they are selling to kids.
Opinions are my own.

If they're going to use that argument, why are they using chairs at all? Or, for that matter, allowing people to settle their differences by beating each other up, instead of talking over their issues like mature adults?

That's why I find this entire PG thing utterly stupid.

holy shit maven got annihilated

speaking of tough enough, i really enjoyed the first season with maven, nowinski, & josh mathews this one doesn't look like it's a complete make but its more in the mold of The Ultimate Fighter the UFC show. it couldve been because it was the 1st episode and they needed to introduce everyone and the show, but i was hoping for more wrestling stuff

Reminds me, I forgot to record that. Luckily there's a replay later tonight. Nothing listed for next week, though, which is odd.

I'm in Australia. It was on today (Thursday) before NXT, which was the first airing, (we get RAW on Wednesdays) with a replay later tonight. It's just listing America's Next Top Model before NXT next week, no sign of Tough Enough.

Meh. Not really worth the effort. I've given up on Raw and SmackDown already as is; unless I'm thoroughly impressed by the first episode I doubt missing it completely would bother me. Even so, I'm sure Fox8 will air the remaining episodes, perhaps at a different time.

Caught a bit of the first episode of Tough Enough. Not bad, if they do keep showing it on FOX8 I'll probably check it out again. There's also some unintentional humour with Bill DeMott acting like he was a star in the business.

buzzy wrote:I lol'd when Rock suggested a match between him and Cena at Wrestlemania 28. People were like "Yeaaahhh ... wait .. fuck... Godammit that's a fucking year."

The crowd booed him when he said that. Cena won't be heel and he might be over Rock when the match comes. Too early to call, but if the WWE's going to make use of the crowd booing against Cena, this is the time to make him heel. This match being "made" guarantees us that Cena won't be in any title match come WrestleMania XXVIII.

I agree it's unlikely they'd have Cena hold a title in his match with The Rock, but it's certainly not impossible. Presumably Cena goes over no matter what, though I wonder if Vince would look to put Rock over Cena for a championship for a Wrestlemania "moment" and perhaps to convince him to work a couple more matches next year.

Tough Enough is on Fox8's schedule for next week. Enjoyed the first ep enough that I'll continue watching, though it's utterly stupid that Arianne got a contract after all that.

Seen WrestleMania finally. It's bad. But not really that bad. Skipped several parts especially the match where JoMo and Ziggler has been put to waste, also the match where The Corre is involved. Cole-Lawler is awful, and having the Raw GM reverse the results only would only mean that the feud would be lengthened.

Edge-Del Rio being on the opening match is disappointing, given how Del Rio is a good competitor. Having the match lengthened could have proved how decent a wrestler Del Rio is.

Cena being Rock Bottomed is priceless. 'nuff said.

Great hearing JR paired King again. HHH-Taker II isn't nearly as good as that of HBK-Taker II. That being said, it really doesn't hold a candle against HBK-Taker I.

Taker being taken out of the stretcher might only bring up a storyline that Taker is "only human" and may also be key to the big 20-0 for next year -- which I also think as Undertaker's final Wrestlemania.

Triple H should have just passed out to give it more drama.

i also think undy will finish his career next year with a 20-0 record, but i think the stretcher is a "reason" for him to be out of action for a while/not show his face on TV

I'm inclined to agree. No reports of him having any legit injuries aside from the pre-existing condition with his shoulder, so it would seem to be a complete work to write him out for the moment.
