Forgot to mention the classic Atari 2600 games(that can be played on the 7800): Demon Attack, Pitfall, River Raid, Atlantis, Vanguard
Of course the graphics can't compare to today's, but the gameplay was top-notch.

I play just about every classic Sonic and classic Mega man game. Sonic sucks now

. Damn you Sega! Sad part is these generation of kids are somehow brainwashed into liking these new Sonic games.

Have you played the enhanced re-releases of 1 and 2? I got them on special through Steam last year, well worth it for the nostalgia and the updated graphics with speech.
Sun Feb 20, 2011 11:23 pm
I got those on special through steam as well. I really like what they did to contemporise the game, yet they remained respectful to the originals. I have the Tales of Monkey Island collector's edition on preorder at the moment (I'm a sucker for extra collectables) and I'm hoping that can live up to my expectations since it's in my top 5 of favourite series' ever.
Oh, and I should add Worms to my list of games I still play, since I have it on my iPhone
Sun Feb 20, 2011 11:26 pm
Yeah they did a really nice job with them. Being able to switch between the classic game and enhanced version was a very nice feature and quite handy too, as I felt some puzzles (basically anything where you had to be quick and time your clicks well) worked better with the old SCUMM interface.

Treasured -- Final Fantasy VIII. Found the disc yesterday and started to play again.
Sat Mar 05, 2011 1:03 pm
Think I'm going to dust off SSX 3. Not exactly a really old game, but I still love to do a playthrough with a new character every year or two. Perhaps when I'm old enough to drink, I'll have beaten it with all 10 characters.
Definitely one of my favorite games of the last generation.

Everyone else should prepare to be banned.
And Thierry and mandich are on notice until they declare which console their Spyro is on. Despite and because of AoE 2 mandich is double banned if he answers wrong.
It should be noted that every single person is on notice since the greatest video game ever created, Chrono Trigger, was never mentioned. Nor was the greatest platformer, Yoshi's Island. Nor the greatest puzzle game, Tetris Attack. That Super Metroid was not mentioned, nor were A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening is also a horrific attack on the American Dream.
Although maybe nobody mentioned these things because they're such objective facts everyone knows they'll be included forever.
Not to mention the fact that PS2+ era games are being listed in something titled "REALLY OLD." The fact I'm even allowing people to mention games from the PSX/SAT/N64 era should make it clear just how much of a benevolent dictator over these forums I am.

Me neither
I had Spyro the Dragon for PS1. I should download a Nintendo emulator to try Chrono Trigger and Yoshi's Island.

Well I play a little bit of Super Metroid but nobody mentioned Mortal Kombat. A game I really remember is Dragonball Z Budokai 2.

Still remember getting a bunch of guys and playing

Timesplitters

for PS2, playing against bots, god that game was unreal.
Spyro was sweet, I honestly remember playing the demo for it many many times. (Remember demo discs? Thats just a weird concept now with the age of internet).
Road Rash and Stunts were huge in the day for me too. No better feeling than buying one of those super bikes and using a metal chain to fuck people up. Not to mention creating amazing tracks on stunts.
Loved any Zelda game for Gameboy and GB Color. Specifically remember the Ocarina of Time and the Seasons one.
Legend of the Dragoon. Good Lord I still haven't beat that game. Probably my most memorable RPG, I played it through an emulator on my PSP years ago again, but honesty 4 CD's was just too much. I never really got into FFVII or VIII, not sure why.

You never mention something that great. You just live with the fact and great joy that you know and experienced something that other mere individuals have not.

The Gran Turismo games are pretty good.
Mon Mar 07, 2011 4:15 pm
Yeah. GT5 is pretty old, but I still dust it off from time to time.

I treasure the first Painkiller game. Yahtzee's review of Bulletstorm reminded me of the game, found the discs and started playing it again. This game is the reason why I love ragdolls and physics in my games today. Simple, dumb, fun.
