Bump, IGN posted their review. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/103/1035033p1.html

Watching the video review right now, gonna read the article later on.

Edit: Blood looks freakin brutal this year.

Sounds like there's been a few sacrifices for the improvements to CAS and it's not all good news, but I do like the sound of this:

Sticking with CAS, things are a bit different this time around when it comes to earning your attributes and abilities. Last year, the game launched and forced created players to go through the Career Mode to take their sub-50 overall rankings to something respectable by participating in Career Mode matches. Trouble was, you didn't get to decide how your points were applied and the Career Mode was a snoozefest. This year, Career Mode is back and mostly untouched, but you'll be earning attribute points by the handful for any match you take a CAS into no matter the mode. If you want, you can even enter your CAS into matches as a computer-controlled character against a computer-controlled opponent and bank the points at the end of the match without every playing. Thankfully, you get to apply the points to whatever attribute category you want when all's said and done.

That is, in a word, fantastic; very good news indeed. It's still a bit restrictive if you want to create a legend or missing wrestler but it's a lot better than having to play through Career Mode to bulk up a created wrestler's abilities.

Sounds like it'll be pretty good on the whole, some little tweaks here and there to improve some of the match types. I'll be picking it up next week.

That's what the EA Locker esk feature is for, let other people do it

The game does sound really good, and that blood, man, that blood is a selling point for me, Fuck you PG WWE

Picked this up yesterday, so far so good. The core gameplay is pretty much the same which I'm fine with, though reversals are a little tougher than they need to be. Admittedly I haven't played around with the settings yet but the window for reversals is a bit too small for my liking. I would've preferred to just be able to tap the reversal button as in past years, I guess this is more challenging but at the same time it's needless precision. It's just a minor gripe though, as usual I'm satisfied for the most part with gameplay.

The creation modes are pretty cool, they have definitely done a better job of blending CAWs in with the real wrestlers. They still stand out a bit but the layers look less painted on and you're able to select a pose for them to be displayed in on the selection screens, replacing that rather poor photo tool they've had in the last couple of versions. I feel like there's more incentive to use CAW this year, especially with the way we can build up their attributes.

Storyline creation is nice too, some of the scenes will still be a bit too generic despite the level of customisation but I'd still suggest there's a lot of fun to be had with it. I haven't really got the hang of it yet in terms of making a slick looking presentation but it shouldn't take too much time. One weird thing that I noticed was the ability to assign the same belt to multiple wrestlers when booking a match; I had Undertaker vs Triple H for the WHC and set them both as the champion, so they both came out wearing the belt. A bit of a glitch, but one that could be put to good use; if you want to do an angle where someone is wearing a "fake" belt and claiming to be the "real" champion, that might be a good way of representing it. Maybe it's by design, but I'm guessing it's an oversight. Still, it's pretty easy to avoid.

Haven't got into any of the Road to Wrestlemania stories yet but I'll give them a look pretty soon.

got gamefly, and they are being nice and sending me 2 copies of this game, one for PS3, one for 360.....

no idea why they did that, especially since I ranked my list as svr2010 360, dirt 2, Live 10, then svr2010 ps3 figuring that they wouldnt send both, but I was wrong

Odd. I guess you can admire one while playing the other.

GameFAQs has a list of all the unlockables plus codes for the impatient here. No mention of Austin, I'm guessing he could be DLC.

Got everything unlocked manually, except for the red and green guys. Not really that tempting to start Randy's story again, just for some dummies.

I agree that the HBK story was without a doubt the best one. The look back at his career with clips of the SmackDown! games was a brilliant scene. Also you gotta love JBL.

Okay now, since I still don't own a console or even a PSP, what's HBK's storyline in SvR2010?

from what I've heard it has to do with JBL trying to get him to retire and him showing everyone that he still has what it takes

both both versions in the mail today, sent the PS3 version packing in favor of getting dirt 2 or Live 10 to try.

did a bunch of tutorials, and downloaded a "Attitude Era" story. Looks like it is going to be like ECW One Night Stand.

pretty good dialog at first with JR and King ringside setting the stage for the raw is war theme and it starts with hardyz vs edge & christan with you controlling christan in a TLC match.

the match was pretty epic by my standards, didnt finish due to having to get back to work but I was having fun.

my main thing I need to figure out is if normal 1v1 matches are going to be entertaining to me and how good the "normal" career mode is. if they seem cool for me, then it looks like it will be a buy for me

What's the MS Paint tool use for? Being excited to play SvR10 in the PS2. Even if it has limited features

Basically. It gives you the ability to create a custom design instead of just being stuck with the selection of WWE Superstar or generic logos and designs.

I had a falling out with my gamefly copy due to the right analog control scheme....however,

I have been playing the shit out of the PS2 version of this since Saturday and am having a blast with it. controls and all, I finally got over the learning curve I guess.

I edited all the relationships and moved all the championships so they are nice and updated, moved all wrestlers no longer with us or out of the WWE into the WCW stable (for future fun), and then proceeded to create Sheamus. Using caws.ws he came out really good and the CAF's look great for him.

Played through 3 belts worth of career mode to build up points before realizing I can gain points in exhibition matches (and even watching CPU vs CPU) I really wish that you could defend your belt a bit in career mode though.

I've watched 2 matches so far, the Tables match between Sheamus and Cena (which a 55 overall Sheamus won) and a DX Jerishow cage match with DX winning barely as HBK hit the floor barely before Jericho.

And just now during lunch had an awesome First Blood match (hadn't seen any blood yet other than the make yourself bleed with chair thing) between Sheamus (me) and Orton. Halfway through the match DeBiase came in from the crowd with a chair and then immediately after Rhodes came from the main Entrance with a chair. After getting triple teamed for a bit, I got up, hit Orton with the signature bicycle kick move and that busted him open with legacy still in the ring.....just an awesome ending.

It controls just like the 360/PS3 versions, the graphics do suck in comparison but I've been playing No Mercy on project 64 since I rented this so I don't mind it. No Superstar threads and obviously no online sharing, but other than that, everything is comparable and enjoyable. Even the RTWM mode seems to be identical to what I played through on the 360 version.
Opinions are my own.
