Anyway, who are you guys planning on making for this game that cant be imported from SvR 09?


Right now I am planning on the nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpac, DDP, and Sting from TNA. Kane obviously if that list turns out false. Mankind and Savage are the only 2 eligible snubs that I plan on making right now.

and it should be mentioned that even though they did not appear in our videos, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka is a playable character in this game and Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler are on hand to provide commentary for each and every match.

That's a good point, he was "Macho Man" Randy Savage in WCW too so it's quite likely that he owns it.

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat is another noteworthy omission which is odd because he is in fact on good terms with the company, employed as a road agent backstage if I'm not mistaken. Nevertheless, it's a pretty good roster as I've said before, a few of the guys are probably there in lieu of others they couldn't include though.

only 2 guys in the game that i feel should not be, so overall i cant complain. really wish demolition was in it(they on good terms?). would have loved to play some demolition vs legion of doom matches.

anyway, does anyone know what kind of matches are going to be in the game?

if the websites are right about the trophies in the game it seems we will have 30 man royal rumbles too? love the rumble and would like survival matches but i doubt those will make it.

it has been along time since i played any wrestling game, has to be a good 10 years now?, but this one really got me. overall i think i am just a sucker for nostalgia, i even went and bought the old wrestlemania dvds, royal rumbles too lol. when they finally release the survivor series i will nab them also.......

Now I wonder why Undertaker doesn't have his coat with him. And Slaughter's hat and shades too.

Same, I picked up the Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble and Summerslam sets. The only downer is the censoring of WWF (thank you, World Wide Fund for Nature) and replacement music where they don't own the copyright (eg Undertaker using "Rollin" by Limp Bizkit), especially in the Attitude era DVDs where the scratch logo is everywhere and they have to blur it.

if you already have the dvd can you tell me, i heard rumor that in wrestlemania 4 they left out the match between warrior and hercules, is that true? would be a major disappointment to me if they did

Because they shared initials that were already trademarked by the World Wildlife Fund (now the World Wide Fun for Nature), the two organisations had come to an agreement that allowed the World Wrestling Federation to keep using the WWF initials. However, they breached the agreement and the World Wildlife Fund sued, the result being that World Wrestling Federation could not use those initials anymore. As such, they rebranded themselves WWE (with a campaign called "Get the F Out") and must censor the scratch logo and any mentions of the initials WWF in DVD compilations and the like.

does the censorship get to the point of annoying? do they mention wwf alot therefor need to censor alot of what is said? i know the arena had wwf all over the place so i think that might get annoying.

speaking of the dvd sets, do you know what order the events happen in a year? if memory serves me (i stopped watching along time ago) it goes rumble,wrestlemania,summer slam, survivor series. that about right? i plan to watch them in the order they took place (skipping survivor series since it wont be out til year end it seems)

It's pretty annoying at first, especially in the closer shots. If someone got whipped into the corner and you watch it sideways, half of the person is going to be blurred because of the three logos on the turnbuckles.
Same if they're in front of the ring, next to big logo on those panels. But it's not so bad, it'll grow on you ..

oh well i guess its one of those thing that i will have to deal with, like you said i am sure it will grow on me. what would bother me more is missing content, like matches or interviews and what not. i understand some of the performances were left out probably cause of money reasons but some of that i think is for the better lol (looking at you salt n pepa)


as for the game, you think they left out some wrestlers on purpose so they can "give" them to us later as DLC? my guess would be yes but if the game does not sell that great we probably wont see it

yeah i would like to see more wrestlers but the one's on the roster are excellent

i somewhat agree, they have a very good roster but a couple people on it make me scratch my head, kamala being one, koke b ware another, and while we are at at throw out hayes. replace them 3 with the dragon and demolition (since we wont ever get macho)

It's worse in events from 1998-2002 because they have to censor the scratch logo and as buzzy said that gets annoying but it's not too bad in the events leading up to 1997, the occasional mention of "WWF" is muted but they are allowed to say "World Wrestling Federation". And of course, it's a none issue in the WWE era.

DLC would be cool but I'm not holding out much hope for it. All the same, I'd like to be proven wrong.

so like i said earlier, i went and bought the old wrestlemanias and as i watched them over the weekend it really bothers me that the dragon did not make this game while someone like koko b ware did. dragon was involved in some of the best matches and was very fun to watch. i remember liking him as a kid but never realized how good he was at what he did til i rewatched them again.

Steamboat being left out is weird since he's on good terms with the company and will in fact be a Hall of Fame inductee this year. Then again, he only appeared at three Wrestlemania events and none of his opponents are actually in the game so that might have something to do with it.

the hammer valentine is in the game but he was only his first round match in wrestlemania 4, still a good one imo but nothing like him and savage the year before. still i see they are trying to put people against others they have fought before, so i ask this, who did kamala fight at a wrestlemania thats in the game? he never left any memories with me so did he have a big match with someone else in the game that helped land him in the game?

Probably not, which I guess throws that theory out the window.
