Yes, that was the plan. Probably by means of simply referring to Zoom as Sit in an active thread and letting word spread.

thats a fair point. Contrary to the opinions of others I actually thought Dweaver had his moments of good posting and being a decent member of the forum. Then there were others where he'd just spam and screw around. He had his reason for being banned so no complaints from me but I could definitely see some benefit posting wise (I actually liked talking to him back then) if he was to return as a member.

As far as the Sit thing goes, he did disrespect senior members in the community and should have been banned (which I thought he was but as far as I am reading he wasnt). I thought Sit was cool (gotta love Laker fans) and had his moments but making this exception just based on a few good threads and promises to behave doesnt really send off a good message. As much as its being said its not an attempt to undermine Jae or Mathew it does come off that way to many people whether intentionally or not. Those two contributed years to the forum and many quality threads for that matter and whether they said so or not I believe their frustration from that little rebellion incident was a strong influence in them leaving. I've seen other members get banned for much less and the kind of leash being given is very surprising.

I also haven't been able to figure out why Sit was pseudo-banned or stopped posting. I just heard that Matthew had consistently deleted his dynasty thread, and was never sure why. Search function doesn't seem to help on this one as a result, since the thread is gone.

That's also true, but there is more than sufficient information on the forums to figure out what happened. Matthew detailed it pretty well and anyone reading your thread should be able to pick up on what was going on.
