Yeah the shot stick can be hard to get used to after using the right thumbstick for freestyle, but you'll get the hang of it. How much was the monitor?
thanks for the pointers....although I've heard that plasma gets dead pixels too....I just can't validate spending the extra money I don't think, but will shop around, talk to different people in the know & work from there....

For what its worth, my monitor hasnt got a dead pixel yet.
so Fight Night is good, eh? interesting....might get Dead or Alive 4....will find out tomorrow when I'm at the stores, will decide on the spot

Remember, if its shit, take it back and exchange it

anyone played Rockstar's Table Tennis? I've heard it's good multiplayer, but could get tedious single player....

yep, & at the moment it's $60 at Target....my bro figures that it'll probably be one of those games you hire out for the night....but then again, you can always buy & return within 7 days

It was $490 down from $700. The picture is really nice. This is the model I got:

The plasma I got is awesome, works perfectly. None of the pixels are dead or whatever (yeah I'm a genius at this :P). A 19-20" LCD is nice (like the one Matthew has), but me and my old man decided to go abit bigger and get a 42" one (a big part that influenced him was the World Cup :P)

I havn't bought any games in ages, trying to save up to grab a next-gen console. I will most likely get an XBoX 360 and just let my brother get the PS3.

swapped my console tonight & the new one seems to be working fine which is good (Y)

traded Burnout Revenge in for Call of Duty 2....call it the 'safe' option  looks good though from the small look I had at it....

probably look at getting a HD widescreen LCD TV on Tuesday after my exam....has to be at least 20", although I'm looking at prices & the price difference between a 20" & 27" is not that much....if anyone's got some pointers please do tell....I want to spend between $500 & $1,000 on widescreen LCD with HDTV ready....it has to be at least 20"....we'll see how I go....hopefully I don't spend too much

once I got the LCD TV, I'll get into CoD2, Oblivion & get into an Association with the Bucks & see how far Bogut can take me....will likely sim the first season & make some random trades like getting rid of Magloire to open it up for Bogie....

Table Tennis is actually pretty cool, aside from insane graphics its pretty realistic, its fun to play with friends, though with all the other cool games available, such as FIFA, NBA LIVE/2K6, Call of Duty, etc. I dont see why you'd get that, but if you want something different it is fun.

thanks for the pointer Silas but I ended up going with Call of Duty 2....my game collection is now: NBA2k6, Call of Duty 2 & Oblivion Collector's Edition....that will keep me busy until a new wave of games hits later this year or early in the New Year (Halo 3, NBA2k7, Madden '07, etc)....

as for Table Tennis, you know, considering it's only about AUD$60 over here, I would definitely consider it when it drops down to like $40 or so....

no I haven't....I've never owned an XBox or really known anyone with one except like one person....so the answer is no....if I finish the other games & nothing out comes out then I might get it....heck, I think I could probably get it for like $25 from EB so I might get it anyway....I'll read some reviews on it after I finish my exam....I'm assuming the 360 is backwards compatible for Halo 2....

got it for about $1,250....retail price was $1,999 but it had been reduced to $1,399 for stocktake sale....then I dropped it another 10%....it's awesome....I could've went with a cheap brand & got one for about $1,000 or whatever, but I thought the quality was better on this one & it will serve as my main tv now, not just a games' tv....have 12 months interest free, so am paying back about $25/week....it's more than I wanted to spend, but looking at the alternatives & what was out there & my impatience, I think it was a pretty solid buy....

Does Xbox 360 look a lot better on an LCD monitor, and if it does is there a way to hook it up to your computer monitor because i have a 18" LCD Dell monitor.

it looks a shiteload better....my older bro walked in having not seen it & said the difference was like the difference between night & day....if anyone has a 360, then they have to have a HD TV, either an LCD or Plasma, but I like LCD's more....I've heard that any LCD under 20" don't look as good or something....maybe someone can confirm that....something to do with the technology....

as for you Dell Monitor, the only way I know it would work is if you have the component inputs....you need like 5 or so, which includes 3 for the HD....most monitors I think don't have component inputs....

good luck

:( awell, it'd be hard enough getting the money together for the whole 360 thing without buying a TV on top of that.

yep, make sure to search around for a good deal, there are some around....if I was more patient then I might have got a better deal but I wasn't  oh, and if you didn't realise before, but the price I paid is in Aussie dollars so I'd say your LCD's should be quite a bit cheaper, relatively speaking....

yeah, I think people it's something that people who go out and buy a next gen console need to know....the graphics don't look that great without a good tv....sure they're better than XBox but not as significant as one would expect....but once you got the equipment (the TV) then that's when you see what it's about....I'm talking about 2k6 as well which isn't that great graphically compared to what it might become....

but yep, if you're gonna fork out the $500-$600 for the 360, then prepare to spend at least $500-$600 that much getting a High Definition TV as well....

if I had of known I would've had to buy a TV as well then I might've been swayed to hold off buying one, but I'm glad I did for the sake of 2k6 :P

I guess one could get a 360 & enjoy it thoroughly without a good tv, but if you want the full experience, then you need the tv....

sorry to break the news, but I wouldn't mind hearing from Ty or another person who has played the 360 with & without the right TV for their views on the matter....

Normally it wouldn't be such a problem because my mum would get me a new one no problems, but I just bought a 82cm flat screen like 2 months ago so there's no way she'd get me another TV already.
