The best sports game for the PS3 was Virtua Tennis 3 with Madden NFL 07 coming in 2nd.

I didn't see NBA Live no where.. Lol. Maybe EA Sports showed more of Madden NFL 07 for them to get runners up.

was talking to my mate at EB & he said that the PS3 core pack will release in Australia for AUD$849 & for the the pack with the extras that everyone will want, AUD$999....

if this turns out turn, it is a shock....I expected a release at AUD$700 & AUD$850, respectively....

I know this is the pre-order price, so maybe it might be a little less once all the backorders go through....

yeah, that's what I said to him....he's pre-ordered a Wii, which I think he said will retail somewhere between $350-$400....he's told me just to go down to the local Cash Converters & pick up games for $5-$10 & get $15 trade value for them at EB, so I might try that to get it cheaper....

EDIT: I still can't believe it's $1,000 though, so don't quote me on it, but that's what the pre-order price is....he did go on to say that Aussies are getting ripped....or maybe it's just EB doing that to make a little extra....I noticed they had Heroes 5 for PC on pre-order for $109 then they released it a week or two later at $89....I feel for the people silly enough to pay for the pre-order....as for me, I'll get it when it is in the bargain bin....

they should make a 'budget' PS3 with just the bare minimum required and like an 8 gig hard drive or something and sell it for $500

I'll probably buy the xbox 360 at the end of the year jsut as the ps3 is released. It's price might actually drop a bit, who knows.

There's been some speculation here as well with the ps3 price, it's usually something 500-650€.

I expected it to be $1000, and no way am I going to buy it on release, I'm definitely getting a Wii first, then I'll consider PS3 or Xbob 360, depends which one has the 'good' games.

my mate said it's almost certain that the price will drop to coincide with the PS3 release....I can't really see it being a huge drop, probably in the $50-70 range IMHO....Halo 3 is also supposedly being released on the day PS3 is released....should be an interesting battle....

Edit: when PS2 came out it was $750.... so you have to add GST to 784 so its 850, I expect it to go up to $900AUD.

It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system that will mean gamers won't own the PS3 titles that they've paid money for. Instead, they will only be purchasing the licence to play the game and that the software itself will still be Sony property - meaning that the disc won't be the customer's to sell.

Pre-owned games are the shizzle. I think Sony are trying to profitize as their system is 'expensive' to make and $500 is "cheap"
