lie on the ground and lift your legs up towards your head (keep them straight)
you dont want to strenghten your knees, but your thighs/hamstrings. if those muscles are stronger they take the pressure off the knees.

they actually make my knees hurt...
ive got bad legs from my ankles to my ass, and just doing something as simple as what I said earlier really helps take the pressure of knees, especially when playing high-impact sports like basketball
