Zmac, i'll pm it to you in a second.

It looks good, but I don't see what's new about it. It looks like the other stuff you've been doing.

Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:04 pm

*sigh* What parts exactly? I look back and only see the fading white brushing in the corners as the same.

Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:10 pm

Apart from the colouring on the Marion pic and lack of text it's almost identical to the Allen/Telfair/Pierce sigs.

I think the white brushing/fading is very dominant, and when you put that on every sig it's going to come out looking familiar every time.

 Its Igoudala.

I cant fucking understand why im not executing this properly.
Do you have any tips for my next? At least an idea of what i should do?

Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:19 pm

 must be too used to you making Phoenix sigs, the text on his jersey looks like LAKERS... surprised I didn't say it was Brian Cook.

You're not doing anything wrong with the execution, you've pretty much perfected this style of sig... I think the problem is that we all know it now, so if you want more comments or whatever you've gotta mix it up a bit.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 12:25 pm

Meh, i don't know how i feel about this. I didn't do the fading brushes. I threw in a pattern and went with a grungy look. Im trying to keep my skills fresh and sharp but i can't do anything new. :(

Time to revisit those tutorial sites, eh? lol. That sig is kinda plain, the effect on Marbury isn't very good imo. He's too pink. Make a sig without any brushes. :P

I'd strongly recommend the above advice. It gives you a chance to try something new where you're purposely restricting yourself from doing something that is common in most of your sigs. The most common thing in your last few sigs are white grunge brushes. I'd like to see more from your other sigs and especially your works in the Sig League, which I really enjoyed

Bogut wall
Another unfinished wall that im stuck with.
Absoloute no brushing in this one. It looks pretty noobish but i suck at walls so i don't know where to go from now. Comments etc appreciated again. Bare with me, im going through a frustrating design phase.

I tried restricting myself on brushes... it didn't work.

I'm in the same boat as you Peachy, I just have chose not to show off any of my work cause I think it looks like shit.

I think your Marbury sig has too much contrast... and then the pic of Marbury doesn't really match the sig at all... the hue is completely off for the other colors in the sig.

Also, I agree with Jae.... your Iguodala sig looks like it says Lakers. I thought it was Lamar Odom. Again, too bright, it looks like you did several passes of the dodge tool, which I'm not a fan of. It looks similar to your current Amare sig which is also very bright... that's how they're all so similar.

hmm the text sucks a lot :D

Sat Jun 03, 2006 8:21 pm

The text isn't great but the rest has alot of promise. Keep working on it, if you can get some things going on the right side it'll look really good.

For this, all adjustment layers, a pattern that could be blended in better, simple text, no grunge or nothing whatsoever brushing.

Yeah, i know i said id stay away from the brushing but this is my last one. besides it looked great with the pic effects.

Unfinished but something simple for a desk. I like my text need help on details.

The Andrew Bogut one looks kinda like a horror movie poster b/c of the type. You gotta be careful which kind of font you pick. I'm not sure what the Bogut in Utah communicates, but the composition is good (y) Try playing around with other effects like gradients, layers (overlays), opacity modes, rotations, scales, strokes, etc.

The Kenyon Martin one is fairly simple; I really like the contrast in type weight, the yellow on his jersey is a nice but a little too subtle effect. Try making the background that color and keep the rest of him purple. I'm not sure about the wallpaper pattern selection you picked.

The King James one looks awesome, I have no problems with that one, but the type is a little too light, too grey and blurry for my taste. Otherwise, the colors and effects on the image is awesome (the brush did work )

Nice avatar   .

The LeBron wall is pretty good, the effects are good on it. You've adapted the same style and it works.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:42 am

Thanks guys. Cy, i'll play with the text a bit. Do you have a good idea for a sub text? Or should i just leave it?

Jugs, a bit late but i thought you might like this one.

Up next >>> Nirvana, Dave Matthews Band and hopefully Incubus album covers

I'll take some requests too.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 2:05 am

They're all good. I like the effects on the Bogut and LeBron especially. Cy has a good idea with Kenyon. (Y)

It the lightness that makes them look the same, I dunno, maybe try to do a darker one?

Is that good enough commenting, bitch?

Sun Jun 04, 2006 4:19 am

I have that same pic of K-Mart, I was planning on using it at some time.... just so ya know, don't want people thinking I'm stealing ideas or anything.

Naw, no subtext required.

v2 with + desaturated adjustment layer

v3 with + a couple of curves layers, turned out with a blue effect

What do you guys think?

Thu Jun 08, 2006 8:13 pm

I think if you put a tiny bit more colour on Wade in the second one it'd be perfect. The first is a bit too bright, the 3rd I don't like but the 2nd one could be awesome.

I like v3. (Y)

By far my best sig imo. I love everything about it though the text kills it.
Suggestions appreciated.

Panco, i used 5 or 6 brushes so i don't know what you want exactly.
