Why are you trying to discredit and demean him by saying he was drunk and calling him a half-baked rapper? Is that all you got? He wasn't drunk. That's obvious by how nervous he was. He came on TV and spoke out for the person gunned down for a loaf of bread or the family still trapped in the Convention Center, you dick. You're too infixated on "George Bush doesn't care about black people" The statement wasn't made to start a race war, it was to get that sorry piece of shit's attention. People are dying down here, and if he can send millions of soldiers to Iraq to fight over fucking oil he should be able to rescue all the dying survivors in his own backyard. But he hasn't. I have family still trapped down there and frankly I wish he'd act like he gave more of a fuck. That's why I applaud Kanye for what he said and really take offense to you calling it scraping the bottom of the barrel.
But that's your opinion and mine is that you and anyone that feels like you should
Your opinion? Who gives a fuck about your opinion? Who the hell are you anyways?
Fuck Kanye.. some black people are like bitchy women.. finally given all these rights and treated equally yet they still bring up stupid shit.. no offense to the african americans on this site.. but I've always supported minorities and blacks.. but this just doesnt cut it. I didn't support them to see them runnin around in their suv's blasting their music and scaring people.. you cant look at them wrong cuz they might be carrying a gun? Fuck that. Those are the black people that give a bad name to the good ones.. one of my best friends is african and he's like a mould out of the Cosby family.. doesnt roam around wearing his costume (FUBU) and intimidating people.. this being said fuck Kanye.. I'm not a fan of Bush and the only reason why Kanye is pissed at Bush is because the current american government favours the capitalists and the wealthy.. which sadly enough cancels out the majority of the black community..sadly.
It's sad whats goin on in New Orleans but you need to face the truth.. you have an idiot for a president..
Would you still be arguing if Carrot Top came out and said "Bush dont care about us?" Both you and Kanye can go jerk eachother off.

Irrelevant. If a celebrity is in the KKK and decides to preach his beliefs to a huge global audience, would that be alright because it's his "opinion"? I know it's a different scenario, but just because he has an opinion doesn't mean it needs to be aired in this way.
I didn't said he was right or anything, I just said it's his opinion, it shouldn't be taken as a fact. If somebody's from the KKK and says his/her opinion on National TV, it's nothing more than just a famous person talking wathever it feels.
Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:14 pm
Oh yeah I agree, but unfortunately alot of people would take it as fact. We live in a World of idiots Jonex, *insert philosophy quote here*

If you were nervous, not too educated and you were on Tv...would you really give an eloquent speech? Seriously, Kanye wasn't drunk. He was just nervous, insecure or scared. Who knows.
You think black people have equal rights? How come they get worse education? How come they live in worse houses? How come they earn less money, even if they are doing the same job? How come they have much less power in the government? Do you think it's really their fault? Do you really think so? Racism is all around you, even if you don't think you're a racist. Racism is in the laws, in the economy.
It's wrong to think Black people have equal rights because they flat out don't. You think they can just ignore the prejudice? You think they can just move out to a white neighborhood to get a better education without getting discriminated in class? You think they can just live normally? You think it's their choice?
The US laws are racist laws. At its core there is racism. You don't believe me?
Let's talk education first.
Look at SATs. Do you think it has anything to do with intelligence? Hell no. It's all about money. The more money a person has, the higher their SAT scores. There is NO corrolation between SAT scores and intelligence. It's just a flat line. Just take any SAT course and chances are they'll just flat out tell you that.
Also, Black people can't get into the good schools because they aren't near them. People usually go to schools near to their homes. Do you think bussing will solve the problem? Not necessarily. Plus do you think the ones that do get bussing will be able to do well in a school that is primarily whites? Do you know that schools are more segregated than in the 60s? How insane is that!
What about housing?
Have you seen how bad some areas of the US are segregated? Do you think they can just go to a white neighborhood, abandon all their friends, go further from their jobs and further from everything they knew? But let's forget about that. It's just damn hard to move anyhow. How are they going to get a loan to move to a place near a better school. Yes it's possible, but very rare. Also once blacks move in to a school, then whites start leaving.
What about jobs?
You think they get paid equally? Then you are wrong again. Even when Blacks have the same jobs they get paid less than whites. I read it's around 10% (search the net, you'll find it somewhere.).
So just think. You have to live give that much effort to succeed. That's why most "successful" African Americans (not in the entertainment business) dress better, talk politer and act more "whiter" than whites! You have to try that much harder to succeed.
The general consensus here seems like racism has ended, that it only lives in a few people's minds, but racism hasn't ended at all. It doesn't matter WHO is racist. Race is an INSTITUTION. I think I said this a billion times. Maybe I'll just say read "Black Power" by Kwame Ture and you'll sort of get what I mean. Ugh...now I understand why he gave up and just left the US. There is no hope.

What's he got to be nervous about? If you believe in your own opinions enough you will have no nerves telling anyone who'll listen. While I'm at it, the guy performs in front of thousands of people every day.. it's what he does for a living. How can you be nervous?
Tue Sep 06, 2005 4:35 pm
He was probably nervous about the fact he was going to rant about how Bush doesn't like Black People.
Hell, if I was on NBC and wanted to say "George Bush fucking sucks" or something, I would have a problem with it, too!

Black Americans have only had "equal rights" since the mid-60's, after being here since the 1600's. You're mistaken if you think true equality has been reached. There's no way to undo decades of retarded racial policies in 40 years. This country still has a long way to go.
Tue Sep 06, 2005 11:51 pm
It pisses me off when black people pull the race card but have nothing to back it up.
Just now on Good Morning America they asked this black refugee if it was a racial issue and she said "I'm black and it's effecting me". What the fuck? That doesn't mean it's racial, moron.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:07 am
Nothing to back it up?
Like I said race is a part of everything. From the subtle word choice to wrongly used stereotypes. There has never been racial equality.
Wouldn't you be nervous to say "Bush hates black people"? I mean seriously, there is anger boiling up inside you and words don't come out easily that way.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:08 am
I'm not even talking about Kanye West, you fucktard. Read my post over again and you'll see I'm talking about the lady on Good Morning America.
Jesus Christ.

No. If I have an opinion on something I'll announce it to the entire World, nerves wouldn't even come into it. And as I said, this guy is in the public eye for a living. I think the nerves are mostly due to the fact that he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:13 am
He was suppose to be helping to get people to donate and he goes off and starts ranting about his own uneducated opinions. He should have stayed with what the whole telethon was about and try to get more people to donate. Do you think "Bush doesn't care about black people" really helped them get more money?
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:18 am
Yea I did know it was about that. Yes it is sometimes annoying to hear the race card used over and over again, but race is all around them. Maybe she was just saying it. I was just under the impression that you think racism is over.
You have no idea if he was drunk or not. He seemed sincere to me. When I get angry I wouldn't be able to speak that clearly. Who knows man. Some people get nervous in the weirdest periods. He's not an orator or anything neither. Maybe he had to prepare this in 5 minutes. Maybe he changed his mind and changed his calmer comments into something more harsher. I don't think Kanye has ever made speeches like this to somehow indicate that he can speak like an orator.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:23 am
It's hard for me to argue about race with someone who hates "Japs" and has stated that they don't believe race exists. But I'm too stubborn not to try. I've tried to cut down on the quotes, my original post was going to be a novel plus a sequel.
Bang wrote:If you were nervous, not too educated and you were on Tv...would you really give an eloquent speech?
I would agree with that, if his job wasn't to perform songs in front of thousands of people every day. And it's not like he never performs controversial songs. Jesus Walks for one caused controversy.
You think black people have equal rights? How come they get worse education? How come they live in worse houses? How come they earn less money, even if they are doing the same job? How come they have much less power in the government? Do you think it's really their fault?
By worse education, you could mean a variety of things. Inner-city schools, which are mostly populated of African-Americans, aren't always
the best schools to go to. Yet you make it sound like they're getting 1st grade education in middle school. Not the truth. You've problably only heard of a few extreme cases of some very bad schools. You can't fairly base your entire opinion about African-American education on a few examples. And if you think that individual African-Americans are unfairly treated in schools, you are strongly mistaken. Unless, of course, it's one of a few extreme examples.
Aside from the fact that this theory is bullshit, it has nothing to do with race.

Not every African-American is poor, just like not every white person is swimming in money. Unless, that's how you think of African-Americans, as dirt poor, and every white person, as filthy rich. Who's the racist there?
Also, Black people can't get into the good schools because they aren't near them.
Not every African-American person lives in the ghetto. And again, you don't know about the vast majority of African-Americans, because you don't live in America. You just listen to examples from the news.
That's why most "successful" African Americans (not in the entertainment business) dress better, talk politer and act more "whiter" than whites!
That's a racist comment right there. "All successful African Americans talk like white people". You know that's bullshit, you're just pulling things out of your ass.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:36 am
The SAT Theory is not bullshit. Not only did I hear this from a person from Princeton Review who was teaching a summer course in Exeter, but it has been written extensively. Fine I shall show you a whole shitload of websites to prove my point.
http://www.yaleherald.com/article-p.php?Article=1408
http://senate.ucsb.edu/meetings/townhal ... ts/2-1.pdf
http://www.mdcbowen.org/p2/bjw/sat.htm
http://hypertextbook.com/eworld/sat.shtml
http://www.kimberlyswygert.com/archives/000876.html
Also some books by Princeton Review should have in their intro something about SATs and wealth.
Yes not all Black people are poor, but compared to whites there are more poorer black people. Plus like I said before, even with the same jobs Blacks receive less money.
I took the SAT and I got 1360 before taking a few SAT courses (which just taught me how to take the SAT) and after I took them I got a 1460. What matters is how you take them.
I live in the US btw. I've heard all those comments from African American friends for one.
The African Americans in the college that I go to made that comment that "successful" African Americans have to work harder to seem "whiter". I seriously don't know if I have much of an experience to "prove" that. They said it in class discussion, so it's not my comment. Plus generally in class presentations they are usually the ones wearing formal clothes. Maybe it's the minority since I go to a very elitist school, but still from my observations it seems sort of correct.
Look, the schools in the black neighborhoods are significantly worse. And segregation is huge in cities like Chicago. Do some researching on segregation in Chicago (in modern days!) and it will be very apparent to you. I can't really write everything that proves it here.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:49 am
Are you bashing whites because they earn more money than blacks?
Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:58 am
No, I am not. I'm just saying racism exists in practical things, not only in sentimental things.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 1:01 am
But you can't really use wealth as a practical thing. Those white "rich folk" work hard to get their money.
There is a reason why most the people on welfare are black people.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 1:16 am
Gas prices are determined more by Cause & Effect and CPI than Demand & Supply.
the current american government favours the capitalists and the wealthy.. which sadly enough cancels out the majority of the black community..sadly.
that's what every government favours. Rich get richer and poor get poorer. This is probably a class thing not a race issue. The government neglected it's own people. (cutting funds, delayed response time). Only now they are doing something about it. That's what everyone was pissed about, they were stranded on their own for days while Bush had his finger up his ass.
Wed Sep 07, 2005 1:45 am
Also, for those of you that are in the state of mind that Blacks are mostly criminals think about who started the holocaust? whites. who had slaves? whites. what colour were the assasins of US presidents? white. most serial killers? white
Quit acting like white people are oh so civilized.
