Preparing for the Swimming Carnival...

I couldn't think of a title... but my day was pretty eventful IMO... here's a rundown of events!

- I got to the library and decided I would start the day off with Good Charlotte. As I was walking in the real bitchy libraian told me to go back outside and leave my headphones outside. So i did it. Man- was I angry? I plotted revenge! (Y) I went in and logged onto my account and put my computer and full volume, pulled the screen plug out and ran off and wtahced as the libraians tried to figure out which computer it was. And because the screen wqas blank, they couldn't check who it was. I was pissing myself as they scrambled asking people to plug the screen cable back in. After a few minutes I walked over to the computer and told them, "It's broken, you should get it fixed.' And rebooted it. You should have seen the librarian's face.. it was fully red!

- I went to sit down to read the business section of the paper for my economics assignnment. Some asian guy just walked past and asked why I hogged the paper. I thought, 'wait a sec, i only just got it.' So I stood up and asked him, 'Wanna fight bitch?' He said, 'whoa whoa, no way man' And I said, 'Stop trying to be black. It's rude.' So he said, 'U do it!' And I said, 'DOesn't mean u can man. Can u play basketball? U can't man. Get lost!' At that point my friends stood up to hold me back. So I started to move to the door. But he then said, 'I think its a bit hot in here... cool down man!' So I went back and said, 'U want mew to take my clothes off?' I started to take my shirt off by unbuttoning it... he was getting angry and started to walk backwards mumbling, 'no way man, see a shrink or somethin.'

- Lucnhtime was good. Got to play more basketball! Man, I was a bit rusty but it was great. I miss the game so much... itsa not fair that i have to study. But obviously for me, school comes first! At least i get to captain for our Asian All-stars...

- Double math.. boring stuff... man it was so freakin bad. I fell staright asleep!

- And then I had to freakin go up to the shops to spend 20 bucks of my own on lollies for little kids tommorrow for swimming carnival. Everyone at school knows how much it means to me. I know this year is my house's year. And after getting to know the slackers in my house... who said they will show, i know our chances of winning has increased... ALOT!

Well, that was my boring yet eventful day... But the best moment of it was writing my warcry... here it is:

Sit’s Rhyme

We’re the L to the AV, E to the R
Laver’s here, we’re gonna get far
No way- we ain’t second to none
We come to win, also have fun
Laver- ain’t got much time
So listen to the rest of this rhyme
You need an encore, school need more?
Watchin Laver win this war
After us, there shall be no more
For one last time, Laver needs to roar
L-A-V-E-R
Laver!

What do u guys think? (Laver is our house's name!)

Fourth Place.. not good enough?

My hosue came fourth. Out of nine houses. We were 4 points off third, 10 off second and 20 off first. The catch? About 20 Grade 10 and 11 students didn't show up. If they all did and even just sat there for the day without doing anything... we would have won. It's simple, show up and if you got the numbers... you can come first.

Unfortunately, noone understands this in my house. I've been trying and preparing for so long.. the results don't show the effort i put into this. Its not about winning, but its about giving everything ur best shot. I am cut that noone bothered to try!

The day was worse for me as I swam my 50 meters freestyle... ended with a time of 34 seconds.. which is horrible! What was worse was that with about 20 meters left i got a cramp in my left leg.. calf muscle area. Man, it cained! And its still screwed now. And I've also lost my voice...

Well... lets change the topic. Mad Handle- funny how u mentioned ur question. The answer came during the day. In economics my friend Vinnie put on some wacked up music.... heres what happened!

(Vinnie puts on music)

Class: No Vin!
Vin: This is awesome stuff
Class: Turn it down!

(I was listening to my music silently... and then I couldn't help myself...)

Sit: F*king Retard Vincent!
Teacher: Excuse me William Sit?
Sit: You heard me!
Chick: C'mon Miss, everyone swears!
Teacher: Not as blatantly as he did! Especially when we're in a class!
Sit: What did I do wrong?

(Teacher stares at me...)

Teacher: What did you do wrong? You swore in my class!
Sit: (Raises eyebrow) You didn't hear anything!
Teacher: Sure I didn't.

(TEacher walks towards my computer... I exit out of e-mail)

Teacher: Something tells me you are not doing work... my opinion of you has gone from up here to down here...
Class: oooh...
Sit: Well, if I knew I was gonna get this much crap from you I wouldn't here would I?
Teacher: Watch your mouth... you know your badge can be taken off?
Sit: Is that a threat? I haven't done anything wrong and you are not part of my house!
Teahcer: You want to watch me do it?
Sit: Be quiet... I'll give you detention!
Teacher: I'm a teacher...
Sit: Well- watch me!

And that's how it ended... she gave up but I know that my position is at stake. Lucky my house patrons think i'm doing a good job. But I wouldn't be surprised if my badge is gone by next term!

Kicked off the Computer...

Yeah... as long as we don't desturb the class we can listen to music! But yesterday I got kicked off the computer... and so did my friend. We decided that we'd have our screens off and have it on whjen the teacher wasn't watching so that I could read Jae's thread!

It worked well... however the constant on and off for the screen must not have been good for the monitor...

So later in the day in economics we had a relief teacher... i didnt know her but when she called out my name on the roll she said, 'I've heard of you before.' Looks like my name has been circulating around the staff... not that great actually. And even funnier... random grade 10's and 9's are now coming up to me calling me a champ... wat did i do??? I have no idea. It's more baffling cause i'm asian and asians dont get much love round here!

Man, bad news too! Our 'All-star' game got moved to the outdoor courts... the gym was booked by some stupid dance thing.. its ghey! But now we gonna have some guy with a megaphone shouting into it and doing player intros and stuff.. and try to make it look like a streetball game... I will keep u guys updated on how my team does.

One more question. I had to go help out with some dive in movie for the grade 8s and there was this chick that i know. I'm not sure bout her, i have no idea wats going on but throughout the night my friends and other guys in our grade kept asking if we were together and telling me that she was talking to me more than anyone else... I have no idea wat she wants aye? So i talked to her friends and they said she acts differently round me... problem is I dont know what i should do about it... anyone got any advice?

Asian All-Stars vs. Aussie All-Stars Preview

The Asian team can only win this game by running. The Aussies are definitely the better team with a balance of skills... however the Asians are playing on their day.. Asia Day and hopefully with more support from the crowd they can pull off a win! The odds are against them though.... Here's a rundown of the rosters:

Asian All-Stars:

C: Brian- All he has got is his height. Easily the tallest guy on our team at 6'3", he can pass the ball and does have a little bit of a hook shot. However, he will beaten down low by the oppostition as he is too weak to hold onto his own position. It is important that he recognizes the other team's offence and try to put pressure on the driving guards. (2nd best center in the school)

PF: Ray - He's 6'0". Same as Brian, he is weak in the arms also but he has decent handles for his size. Haven't seen him do much in a proper games. Makes a lot of unforced turnovers from silly passes and tries to dribble too much. We need him to be a point forward for us... passing the ball to the open guys on the wings.

SF: Martin - He's our best athlete. He's fast, got hops and very good coordination. Got a bit of a shot and is one of the go to guys. This guy will have to step it up on the day and get ready to take open jumpers from mid to long range. (Ranks No. 3 in forwards for the school)

SG: Phil - He's the same height as Martin... 5'11". Phil has a nice shot from anywhere on the baseline. Not as aggresive as Martin but has the best handles on our team. His defence is questionable and it's his ability to lock down on Paul which will determine the game. (Ranks No. 2 in forwards for the school)

PG: Sit - I'm the shortest guy on the court. 5'7"... my job is to distribute the rock which I am confident I can do. I am usually trying to penetrate the lane and dishing the ball however my main job is to try to cover Oly from scroing which is a hard task in itself... I also strive under pressure(Ranks No. 3 in guards in the school)

6th Man: Nelson - This guy shouldn't be on the team but we had to have someone on the bench... and he was our best bet. He's got outstanding handles and is the one of the quickest players in the school. Howver... he can't shoot and bricks layups!

Aussie All-Stars:

C: Jason - 6'6"... easily the biggest guy. He's got a nice sopt up jumper and loves to drive inside. However Jay Z is a prime example of why 'White men can't jump.' and he also makes himself look worse by trying to do fancy crossovers with the ball... He promised a lot of swats though so our bigs better watch their backs. (Ranks No. 1 in centers for the school)

PF: Michael - 6'2" and he's big. I mean it... and he's got a mean left hand... and awesome right hand! A dangerous player who can take and make shots from all over the court. His weakness? Fatigue. (Ranks No. 1 in forwards for the school)

SF: Brody - 6'0"... this guy is young and has a great hook shot. All he does is get the ball in the post and post up the smaller defender... and that's all he can do. Can't play defence at all... (Ranks No. 5 in forwards for the school)

SG: Oly - The star player. Excellent shot, excellent handles. The player any coach wants and once he gets hot from the field he's unstoppable. He plays very sound defence though and thats mainly part to the fact that he is pretty slow... but he is still the best player in the school. (Ranks No. 1 in guards for the school)

PG: Paul - He's the second half of the best backcourt in the school. Paul drives to the hoop without fear and has a knack for hitting down important shots. He has got the quickest crossover and plays good team defence. (Ranks No. 2 in guards for the school)

6th Man: David - This guy was also added to the team due to noone else being available. He's a great player on basis of fundamentals... however he should struggle in a fast paced game like the one we will have.

Prediction: Unfortunately for the asians, the aussies look like they will win this one. How close will it be will be determined by how well Phil, Martin and I play together... as I've never played with them before.

yeah man... we got 4 forwards in the starting lineup... if u count brian as a forward.. he's more of a 4 than a 5... lol I cant guard Paul AND Oly at the same time. I just hope we can give them a run for their money!

we're dead.

Does it? What did i say last time? Oh yeah... when i was talking to Jae I said I was 4th... Yeah, my friend Mike has decided to be a 3 instead of guard which means when it comes to school tryouts i will be the 3rd best guard... So instead of being 4th im now 3rd!

I've decided to look into major retailing Staples, Healthcare, Banks and Resources...

okay dividends....

-Dividends are essentially distributions of profits to members (shareholders) of the company....

-Most public company issue 2 dividends per year. An interim dividend which is usually paid between Feb-April I think, and a final dividend which is paid around Sept-Oct....for example, take the 2005 financial year for example which runs from 1 July 2004 to 30 June 2005....in that financial year, a shareholder would likely receive a 2004 Final Dividend in about September and receive a 2005 Interim Dividend in about March....

-Dividends can either be issued as Franked Dividends, Unfranked Dividends, or Partly Franked and Partly Unfranked....

-Most Dividends issued by public companies today are franked....

-A Franked Dividend is a profit distribution to shareholders which is paid out of after-tax profits, meaning that the company has already paid tax on the dividends issued....for example, a company might issue a franked dividend paying the shareholder 5 cents per share for 100 shares, which equals $5.00 paid....you might think the dividend received is $5, but you would be wrong....the dividend received is actually $7.14, which includes $2.14 imputation credit/franking credit (which basically just means that the company has already paid tax on your behalf and you are distributed the tax credit and can claim it against your tax so you are not double-taxed)....

-An Unfranked Dividend is a profit distribution to shareholders which is paid out of pre-tax profites, meaning the company has not paid any tax on the dividends issued....in the above example, the $5 received in unfranked dividends is actually $5 of income....

-Partly franked and unfranked means what it says....if a share is 70% franked and 30% unfranked, then it means that 80% is paid out of after-tax profits, and 20% is paid out of pre-tax profits....in the above example, $4 franked dividend received and $1 unfranked....the $4 franked dividend when grossed up to include the imputation/franking credit is $5.71....so total dividend received would be $6.71 which includes imput credit of $1.71...

this is only for Australian companies....tax rate for Australian companies is 30%
and I know this isn't perfect description but it'll do in your case I'd say....

any more questions?!? I'm off net in a few minutes so fire away now....
