Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

TNA PPV ending :facepalm2:

Hardy spent a minute waving his shirt around working the crowd, paunch punch, death drop, 123.

Bizarre, but presumably the dirt sheets will offer an explanation or two in the not too distant future.

i loved all the speculation after the PPV, Jeff Hardy even trended on twitter.

Talk that he was stoned, drunk, out of his mind, arrested after the match, locked in a locker room with Matt trying to get him out.

That and HTM said Hogan is on his way back to the WWE. I'm not going to complain about that, but the last two impacts were really good IMO being taped away from home. They just gotta make the heels heels on the road. Everyone was cheering Flair and the Hardys.

I was going give the buyrate something vital, but then I got hiiiight.

But now I'm unemployed, and I know why. (yeah, yeah!)

Cuz I got high, cuz I got high, cuz I got hiiiiigh! Da, da ,da, da, dadadada!

lol, nice

A decision should be made on Jeff Hardy any time now. Meetings are ongoing in Orlando. There are forces pushing for him to be sent home from TV.
Sting was always scheduled to go over at last night's PPV, although obviously not in the manner that took place.

Also in regard to a rumor that made the rounds last night (which we did not report here), Hardy was not arrested yesterday. There is absolutely NOTHING to that story.

The Hardy situation led to his name trending in The United States on Twitter.

We've heard from numerous sources that the decision was made to send Jeff Hardy home from this week's set of Impact tapings.

from pwinsider

no big surprise there.....but I wonder if this is a good thing for TNA. they got a trending name and a lot of interest for the wrong reasons. Just makes me wonder if they will address the situation by either defending him or burying him, or if they are going to do the wrong thing and never mention it.

you can see the ref throw up the X gesture at 2:47 and at 3:00
eric obviously telling stuff to jeff and sting before the match
jeff going after the ref after the 123 abd being hooked by sting
and sting saying he agrees with the bullshit chants at 10:10

"he shocked the world, showed up, on impact, and became the champion. no one expected that mike" uhhh except for that Undertaker ripoff video. good job Tazz.

did JB always do that bruce buffer UFC ripoff ring announcing before each match? that's pretty new.

yeah hardy was fucked up you could totally tell. he took forever to come out and they had to switch cameras like 3 or 4 times. he was walking very slowly and it seemed like his motor functions were delayed. the shirt thing was really weird and drawn out. you can see on the replay hardy trying to kick out of the pin and he sits up looking around like bret did after the montreal screwjob

Wow this is fucked up.

On a COMPLETELY different note, Drew Carey is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Yes, Drew Carey.
I like him as much as the next guy (although I gotta agree with Craig Ferguson - fat Drew Carey was better  ), but this a slap in the face to actual legends of the business and cuts down on the prestige of the HoF a LOT.
He basically gets in for what? A guest appearance in a Rumble match?

What a way to treat the TNA diehards. As for TNA marks who rival Apple fanboys when it comes to daring to mention anything negative about the product, I wonder if there's any left that would actually defend this, since they're no doubt amongst those screwed over by this sad excuse for a main event. Substituting for him in the main event would hardly be the ideal situation but at least it'd be giving the fans something worth their money.

Drew Carey's induction is a little weird but I am a fan so I think it's kind of cool at the same time. The occasional celebrity with a vague WWE connection getting in for a little extra publicity doesn't really bother me to be honest, for the most part they've been recognising legends in the business. The noteworthy names not yet inducted are most likely going in someday soon or have bad blood with the company.

Impact opened with TNA champion Sting in the ring holding the old TNA title and Jeff Hardy version. Sting said that before Hulk Hogan tries to overtake the show, he wants them to get out here and face him. Hogan and Eric Bischoff come out. Sting tosses them the Hardy belt and says this is theirs and they can take the garbage. Sting says that Hogan took one of the brightest stars in wrestling, Jeff Hardy, and ruined him with his influence. They acted like Hardy was done as Sting said he can't do anything to help Jeff anymore but he can help TNA. Hogan said that Sting tries to blame everyone else but he's the guy who disappears and shows up when he wants. Hogan said that the only person at fault is Hardy, who couldn't run with Immortal and stand in the shadow of the Hulkster.

Stupid. They could have done that at the PPV, switching the opponent instead of the stipulation. They had the perfect setup and everything.

well....
Long time reader, first time email-er. I have a brother who works backstage at the Impact Zone occasionally, and he was there last night for the TNA PPV. He sent me a text message before the main event started telling me that something was about to go down, and I visited him today to ask him what was up. He told me that Jeff showed up to the arena later than he was supposed to and went missing backstage shortly after arriving. Management had to rush to find him before the match; he was apparently laid back in the corner of a bathroom. He got chewed out pretty harsh and had to be helped to the ring entrance. My brother was near the entrance and he said that they were all pissed off at him for his condition, and because of their yelling his was late for his own entrance. Sting wasn't saying much, but he was visibly upset. Jeff, according to my brother, seemed like he didn't have a clue what was going on and seemed to be nodding off while standing up. He said it was pretty bad.

Just thought you guys would like to know. My brother said that he thinks Jeff was supposed to win the title, because they mentioned repeatedly how much this would change their plans. Of course, they may have just meant for the match and not for the future story, so take that as you will.

I'm not spoilerizing this, from the spoiler'ed promo about Jeff Hardy, Hogan said this

Hogan said stars from all over the world want to join his Tsunami taking over wrestling.

What, The FUCK. :facepalm2:

I really do hope this is the shit that gets rid of them. You don't cross that line, especially not in wrestling this soon.

Yeah that is awful. Obviously delusional as well, but a really poor attempt at being edgy. There was apparently another segment that aired that was pretty awful and badly received too. I guess Bischoff still believes that "controversy creates cash".

Meanwhile, on the WWE front...

Snookie From "Jersey Shore" Added To The Wrestlemania XXVII Lineup

Snookie, Trish Stratus & John Morrison vs. LayCool & Dolph Ziggler was added to the Wrestlemania XXVII lineup on tonight's WWE Raw from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ugh...well, I guess one horrible "celebrity" appearance and match on the card can't ruin the entire show, other matches on the card and a live appearance by The Rock should hopefully carry the show and make it worthwhile. It's not as though every Wrestlemania is brilliant from top to bottom and this - unfortunately for Morrison and Trish - will likely be this year's forgettable match/moment. Still...ugh.

You know what's particularly stupid? I missed the attitude era. I've never seen The Rock before outside of DVDs and YouTube. And yet I'm bored out of my mind for 99% of RAW and often don't watch it until a week after it originally aired. And even then, only because I need space on the IQ to record the basketball.

Cole during the Divas title match last week was the tipping point for me. If the voice of your company is going to stand up and tell everyone they don't want to watch it, what interest could you possibly hope for them to have? I actually tuned out at that point, and watched something else for a bit.

I wasn't the only one who saw the whole Austin thing coming the second Cole held up a contract, was I?

It does show just how little they care about the women's division. Not a good sign as far as them bringing in Kong.

ouch. it was nice watching guys like rock and the austin 3:16 character and DX grow with you over time. i remember rock as rocky maivia a bright faced rookie with the shoulderbreaker as his finisher.
And yet I'm bored out of my mind for 99% of RAW and often don't watch it until a week after it originally aired.

i think that's the problem with their format these days. they waste their and our time. they're not very efficient with their time slot. there's too much of one guy standing in the middle of the ring ranting for 15-20 mins (only to have the guy they're feuding wit hcome out and rant for another 5 mins), it's like WTF get to the point. the "back stories" in these feuds are so weak they should just have a GM say "at wrestlemania, it will be Daniel Bryan vs shaemus" instead of having them have a weak ass feud for 3 weeks berfore WM. also, they air too many recap videos and promos like on Smackdown this week they reaired a bunch of stuff from raw.

I'm not sure that the format is that different from what they did in better times, it's just that the product was a bit fresher and the quality more consistent amongst the workers getting the most TV time. A 20 minute Rock/Austin, Rock/Mankind or Austin/Vince just tended to be a more entertaining 20 minutes of television than Cena/Miz or whoever these days.

There is just a lot of talk these days, how they feel, blah blah blah.....back in the "old" days, they would talk for maybe a minute, and then do their "jobs" by wrestling random people.

So instead of Cena talking for 15 minutes with random people interrupting to tell us their thoughts, he'd talk for 1 minute, then here comes random heel #3 for their match, even though he is already the #1 contender. The only matches they are normally in are these tag matches with other top people or if its someone random it has to be some kind of "first time ever" match.
