and that is why they need a MITB match in mania like they did the last couple of years
Thu Mar 03, 2011 10:51 am
Exactly, that's a good way to start things off.
Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:50 am
that's what the midcard is supposed to be for. i'll take a great Daniel Bryan match to start, against another vet like RTruth or something.
speaking of R-Truth, eat your heart out:
Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:53 am
That'd work too, but MITB has proven to be an effective opener in the past.
Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:55 am
the mitb matches are usually full of midcarders anyways and its not like they completely did away with mitb theyre just puttting it off for a month
Thu Mar 03, 2011 12:30 pm
If they are going do a MITB PPV again then sure, it's overkill. If they do end up having one at Wrestlemania as they did last year despite plans for the MITB PPV, then it's a good candidate to be the opener.

oh Hogan...
"I think it's great for Jim Hart to go back to the WWE as Jerry Lawlers manager at wrestlemania, I just hope it's not a one off like the Rock."
He's actually in a twitter back and forth with Bret Hart too.
Fri Mar 04, 2011 11:52 am
Typical Hogan.
Fri Mar 04, 2011 3:37 pm
Did Hogan praised WWE?
Fri Mar 04, 2011 5:27 pm
It would seem that way on the surface, but I think it's more about try to spoil a surprise. He probably thinks it'll be a huge blow to the WWE, which along with his claims that his arrival in TNA would cause ratings to triple (because fans "go where Hulk Hogan is" or however he put it) and his tasteless remarks about John Graziano bringing his misfortune upon himself rather than it being the recklessness of his hooligan son, proves just how delusion Terry Bollea truly is.

It seem like Undertaker has his character tweaked a little bit. He referred to himself as the outlaw and he is talking more of like a human. Also, he has a new entrance music.
Sat Mar 05, 2011 3:39 pm
new entrance music? so maybe like a character half undertaker and half bikertaker?

His new entrance music
is "Ain't No Grave" by Johnny Cash. Also, he started
to wear pants again so it is a mix of ABA/ Deadman.
Sat Mar 05, 2011 8:14 pm
It remains to be seen whether that's going to be his new music, when he returned on RAW it was to his usual theme. I don't think we're going to see any major tweaks to the gimmick but I suppose we'll soon find out.

That was what he was wearing when the Deadman persona returned in 2004.
EDIT: The "Ain't no Grave" song might have been used to his new "Last Outlaw" monicker. Sounds more like the old West to me, which I find not bad at all.

Just curious, have they once acknowledged the fact that Taker has beaten HHH at Wrestlemania ten years ago?

You've got to love when they're putting up the Streak angle again, they count people he defeated more than once as part of the 18.
Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:35 am
yeah i gotta agree that with the PG era, when you do hear them cuss or see blood, it makes it more interesting. like rock's "yabba dabba bitch" line or Edge's bloody nose this week
i think when there's too much blood (read: TNA & that human blood faucet Ric Flair) it makes be cringe especially knowing they just cut themselves. it's more "cool" when they get bloodied up accidentally

Why wouldn't they? A win streak is a win streak, regardless of whether you defeat the same opponent more than one during that span.

I believe they do count the number of people he's beaten during the streak correctly though, which includes a handicap match (Big Show and A-Train) at Wrestlemania XIX.

Note to self: Know your wrestling.

Technically it's been 17 different opponents though, as he's had two matches with each HBK and Kane.
Just sounds weird when he says in a promo that "18 other men have failed to beat him", when it's really 16 (HHH excluded).

Possible Undercard for WM
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the following matches have been tentatively planned for WrestleMania, but have yet to be announced. It should be noted that as of now, WWE is NOT planning to run a Money in the Bank Ladder Match (baw) at the PPV:
-John Morrison, Kelly Kelly and Trish Stratus vs. Dolph Ziggler, Layla and Michelle McCool
-Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett vs. Big Show, Christian, Kane and Kofi Kingston
-Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio
-WWE United States Champion Daniel Bryan (with Gail Kim) vs. Sheamus (with Brie and Nikki Bella) for the US Title.
-A Divas Match
Mon Mar 07, 2011 10:07 am
Third one was a given, as they have feuded for some time now. That and the fourth one should be good.
First one should be just between the men. Spare me the divas for Mania, kthx.

Slip of the tongue in that particular promo, perhaps? They generally bill the number of opponents correctly.
