Ugh...the schedule for the games tomorrow are terrible. The two most important games are shown AT THE SAME TIME (USA/Gahna and Czech/Italy) which is 7 AM here.

Take my word for it. Italy, Brazil, Argentina and Portugal are going to be the final four teams. Italy over Brazil in the finals.

Italy, no offence, but they have been playing pretty bad this years World Cup and Brazil havn't really shown anything aswell. Portugal IMO are playing very well and most probably the best.

I hope Czech Republic and Ghana go through.

I think it will be a close contest between Australia and Croatia, but I think Australia could just make it, unless Croatia play like they did against Brazil, then again Australia only need a draw.

My opinion is almost completely reversed... Italy were great against Ghana but poor against the USA, and Portugal apart from their first game have been pretty bad since. I think they'll get rolled by Holland if they keep playing this way.

Sorry boss, but that are the rules. Last games in every group have to be played in the same time so that teams wouldn't rig the results...

So your saying Portugal played bad against Iran? I can understand their last match against Mexico (2-1) because they had already made it through to the next round and rested players (such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco etc.) but from what I watched in their second match against Iran (first half) they were dominating IMO. Cristiano Ronaldo was killing them and they supported each other very well.

I thought the match against Iran was average, but nothing impressive. Iran aren't exactly a global super power. A team like Portugal should be dominating them.

But then again, neither are Ghana, and they beat Czech Republic 2-0 who are currently ranked #2.

Anyway, S&M once again fucked up. Leading 2-0 and loosing 3-2 thanks to two penalties and a red card. They don't even want to play, they are not even representing a real country, they don't have a real flag and they don't have a real anthem. The only flag's that were there were the Serbian flags (red, blue, white)

EDIT: Czech Republic/Italy just started, hopefully it will be a good match.

I'm sick and tired of the US bitching about referees. The fact of the matter is they werent good enough and were foolish to think otherwise. They woulda been lucky with a draw but would have still been knocked out regardless.

Regarding the penalty....it was a penalty. I dont understand how you can see it any other way. The US defender just kept walking into the guys back and dislodged him from his position making it impossible to finish off the play. Too bad for team USA but they shouldnt feel as though the refs cost them the game, they cost themselves the game.

I agree with most of your assessment -- the US just isn't that good. The only player truly confident going one-on-one is Dempsey. Playing 4-5-1 was a huge mistake, and Arena really fucked this team up.

That said, that was not a penalty. And even if there was some contact, rewarding Ghana with pretty much an automatic goal is wrong.

1. Ghana's like 2 million times better than Iran. I think they represent Africa this World Cup just like Senegal did in 2002.

2. The FIFA ranking list is bullshit. I mean, they rank Czech Republic at #2, Mexico at #4, USA at #5, France at #8, etc. and Argentina only at #9, Italy only at #13, England at only #10, and Germany at #19.
It is all based on the amount of money the country spent on football over the last 4 years or so, not on the quality of the players or anything else.

It's the same here in Italy. I know Italy's better than USA but still, saying that Italy will reach the finals SURELY isn't that right. At least admit that some teams are better than us, don't say Italy will SURELY reach the finals when you don't know if you're even gonna pass the quarter finals.
