Perhaps. Of course, that era produced its share of cheesiness and bad promos as much as it saw classic matches.

Attitude era kicked ass and made the WWF/E what it is today. Guys like Stone Cold, The Rock, DX, The Corporation all made the industry so popular. Recently I bought the Royal Rumble 99 on eBay and it is quality. Road Dogg vs. Big Boss Man, Bad Ass Billy Gunn vs. Ken Shamrock, X-Pac vs. Gangrel, The Rock vs. Mankind and the Royal Rumble.

It is incredible looking back on these classic days and I intend to buy more of these events when the WWF/E was in its undoubted prime. Guys like John Cena, Carlito, Spirit Squad and JBL (formerly a WWF legend in Bradshaw) will never match the top guys of the attitude era.

I forgot to mention guys like Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian and the Dudley Boyz with their infamous TLC matches. I think this era ended after the "Invasion" after the WWE purchased WCW and ECW.

no doubt. the lack of competition has allowed WWE to lower their standards. Hopefully TNA will grow into something so that Vince gets back on his game.

I found it in National (Main or any of their branches that are well-stocked like Glorietta). If you're too lazy to browse just go to Customer Service and ask for a specific book. Also saw some on Powerbooks very long time ago, I don't know if they still sell wrestling books, you could ask customer service again and even have a copy reserved for free (except if it's in demand like that Harry Pothead series).
WWE is close to finalizing 'World Wrestling Federation' trademark. It's going through the 'opposition' phase.

I agree, though the fact the Invasion angle wasn't as strong as it could've been didn't help either.

Random thought on today's WWE: I can't say I care for "The Miz" as Smackdown's "host"...he just seems superfluous. He doesn't bring anything fresh or interesting to the show, another example of the WWE trying to fix what isn't broken.

ditto on The Miz...

I can't believe RVD retained and how the championship match was inthe middle of the ppv while the Spirit Squad main evented. :(

I know. With the exception of Wrestlemania, I generally read the recap on Rajah's then order the replay if it sounds good (and I've got the money to spare) and Vengeance sounded OK, but I'm not a fan of RVD retaining. Apparently it's going to be Cena vs RVD on RAW and a lot of house shows and such are advertising Cena vs Edge as a title match, so assuming they're not just out of date he might win it back tonight. Personally, I hope that's the case. I know, I know, it makes Cena a three time champion but the sooner ECW can be a seperate brand with its own title, the better.

the sole and only reason I watched the WWE is because of the DIVAS :D specially my favorites Torrie Wilson and Trish Stratus. Besides that, my favorites wrestlers which by the way are gone (Brock Lesnar and Goldberg), so I don't watch it as often as I used to.

Cena didn't get the belt again. And the 3 are scheduled again for SNME. It's pretty obvious they're giving the belt to Cena again with spinny belt thing still not being canned.

So I started watching RAW again after hearing DX was back and was a little disappointed because DX isn't much without "Road Dogg" and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn... X-Pac & Chyna were cool too, but not really that important to DX. I heard Billy & Road dogg are on TNA but Xpac & Chyna should be out of work so they should be begging to come back.

Nah Tonight (Tuesday night) on ECW's show I think RVD & Edge will have a title match, so maybe Edge will win the title.

I think it was smart for WWE to bring back the ECW name because they have a different fan base. A lto of the old ECW wrestlers didn't fare well in the WWE (i.e. Tommy Dreamer, Al Snow, Justin Credible) and are back in their natural environment. but I agree that they aren't motivated with no competition.

koberulz mentioned something about Goldust?? is he back again?? I always thought he was a cool character quoting movies and the like, but they really messed up his character by making him gay in the late 90s.

I haven't really watched smackdown and caught up yet but it's prolly not worth it.

come on now the original DX was HBK and HHH wiht Chyna the DX you saw after HBK left was watered down yeah they were funny but they tried to hard to be fan favorites. Road Dogg has only mic skills and Billy Gunn was the Wrestler, Xpac went from NWO to DX within a week hes good but all he had going for him was DX he sucked in the ring. HBK and HHH are both Hall of Famers in the making and the spirit squad only was in the main event at Vengeance cause they were facing DX.

Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are now known as BG James and Kip James, The James Gang in TNA. They're feuding with Team 3D. Formerly the Dudley Boyz. They can't use their original names since WWE owns them.

As for Goldust, he just got fired again a few daysago. Apparently he went to court and missing a taping without the WWE knowing. He claims that he did inform them but he got fired anyway. I heard he even offered to work for free for a month just so he won't get fired

3D in TNA has been rather disappointing. Matches arent' great, promos suck and are rather offensive despite being faces, feuds have been boring and Bubba's become fatter.... :?

Edge winning the belt again wouldn't be so bad. I'm just not a fan of RVD holding the belt. I know, he's an ECW legend and he's pulled off some great spots and continues to do so, but I just don't buy him as a champion. I dislike the way he sells the Five Star Frog Splash as hurting him when others are able to pull off the move just as well and don't sell it like that (there was a good column on Rajah's about that a while back) and I wasn't impressed with what I once read about the way he carried himself off camera when he had a run as the IC champion.

If they insist on ECW being its own brand and not just another Invasion angle, they need to get this championship nonsense sorted out as soon as possible.

I actually watched (part) of an episode of RAW for the first time in like 2 years today. The Kane vs Kane thing was horribly over-acted but seems promising enough. Cena is the most boring wrestler in history. If he's not lying on the ground, he's running off the ropes and pulling off seemingly endless shoulder barges. The spinning WWE belt is queer, but overall it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

I think the Kane thing is getting nixed and that was probably the last RAW the Impostor Kane will be on.

correct. monday's episode of RAW was the write-off for the masked kane. which makes no sense, since he went over at vengeance.

Whatever happened to the rumors of Kane getting Mysterio's belt...I had high hopes for this angle just to get a rehash of Taker vs Taker :?

ummm they put over the masked Kane over the unmasked Kane...

last monday Kane kicked out fake kane out of the arena and taking the mask. so in other words the mask is the key to this whole thing and Kane is going back to the mask.

I hope so...the unmasked Kane has gotten quite stale. I want a slightly modified costume though...revamp the look a little bit to freshen up the character

yeah I think this way they can sell the "new" Kane with his mask back, so when the time comes, the guy that plays Kane can step away and someone else can take his place.

I don't know, with the way they've quickly scrapped the angle they might not go with a replacement Kane down the road...which I personally feel would be for the best. Double acts really only work when it's a heel putting one over on another wrester, like the original heel Doink the Clown.

Agreed. The Kane gimmick should retire with Jacobs. It was his only successful gimmick after all the crap he's had to settle with (Isaac Yankem, Fake Diesel)
