Awesome Kong Confirms She's Signed With WWE

Awesome Kong confirmed on Twitter she has signed with WWE. No word as of this writing when she will debut.

I'd say her introductory angle will be something of the anti-Diva variety, as something of a monster heel amongst the women. It remains to be seen what name she'll go by, since McMahon prefers to own the trademarks on ring names.

Better question: how long will she last?

Supposedly they've been after her since before she signed with TNA, so hopefully she won't go to waste.

I hope they set it up so the divas are doing their usual boring ass dance off match or evening gown match or some garbage like that, and she storms the ring and kills them all.

So Awesome Kong is like Beth Phoenix except fat?

She's probably not as hefty as the late Rhonda Sing (aka Bertha Faye in the WWF circa mid 90s) but yeah, like Beth Phoenix she's not the typical WWE Diva build, only more so.

I think Kong is closer to Chyna than Phoenix. She's not glamorous or any of that shit at all, just a huge bitch who flattens people.

nope, he got his match on raw, guess that was one push that only last ~2 weeks

evidently they arent going to follow up on Wade vs Punk. Wade's going to Smackdown

That was his push? Too bad Morrison is the only one I like in the WWE since the attitude era.

It's probably not the end of push, at least I certainly hope it's not. It's just a little early to take the title off Miz; even though I'm not as high up on him as a lot of people in the IWC seem to be, he's at least got to have one title defense on PPV (successful or not).

If they want Miz to enter Wrestlemania as the WWE champ, I think Morrison winning the Rumble would be the way to go. I doubt it would draw as much as Orton or Cena being in RAW's world title match though. But Cena's probably going to have a big blow off match against the Nexus/CM Punk.

I don't think that's a given yet, it wouldn't surprise me if Cena or Orton ended up with the title going into Wrestlemania, or maybe even Punk if they're keeping the Nexus angle going with him as the leader. I'd expect the Miz to hold the belt until the Royal Rumble at least then dropping it at Elimination Chamber if they're not sold on him being the champ at Wrestlemania.

Punk, believing he should be followed and desperate for new followers, recognises that and with Barrett out of the picture, swoops in and takes control of the faction.

Still a bit flimsy, but at least it would be an explanation.

Well, I guess that's been Jossed. They went to him, rather than vice versa, despite the whole 'us vs the world' thing they've got going on, the fact that they were ready to kick out Barrett and work under Otunga only a couple of weeks ago, and the fact that Otunga's been gunning for the leadership position for months now. And I'm willing to bet we never find out their initial motive or their reasoning for helping Kane.

Remember when wrestling used to make some semblance of sense?

Perhaps a few too many Shocking Swerves? Not quite on par with Russo's worst, but the angle has lost its way somewhat.

so in TNA RVD is demanding "Hardy" every week. Am I the only one seeing Matt Hardy being his opponent on Sunday? (nvm, 90 days isnt up until the 13th)

The Jarrett MMA stuff was actually kind of entertaining tonight, nice "loophole" with Kurt Angle.

The "Bully Ray" stuff is good, but old and done to death....the dudleys have feuded too many times for me to take it "seriously".

I really hope AJ loses Sunday, gets kicked out of Immortal/Fortune so he can be be a face again, I'm not a fan of him as a heel.

i was never an aj fan so i dont mind him as a heel. for some reason tna storylines seem ripped out of b movies or something. they have too many turns and group changes and whatnot its hard to keep up unless youre a hardcore fan

A few too many? I can only recall the one (Punk joining). Assisting Kane fit with the 'we have a higher purpose you don't need to know about' angle they had going, and Otunga looking to take over the leadership was built to properly. The dicking around with Cena joining/leaving resulting in a Reset Button because Status Quo is God within a couple of weeks really ruined it. They also seemed to get a lot softer pretty quick. It was always going to be downhill after the first night, particularly with all the speculation about the Bryan firing being a work (and had that not happened, who knows what difference it could have made...), but they suffered massive Badass Decay, lost the Nakama aspect with Barrett dropping people left and right and Otunga making a play for the leadership, and the whole thing just sort of...fizzled. The lack of decent long-term planning then led to the higher purpose angle being dropped, and they turned very quickly from people looking for a job determined to raise hell until they got one to Barrett's lackeys. Which in itself isn't a bad angle, but it happened just a bit too quickly, almost overnight. Obviously once they were hired their initial reason for the beatdowns was gone, but they still seemed to have some sort of beef with the office, and the whole higher purpose thing, which got quickly dropped for Barrett's ambition and using the group for his own ends, instead of the group maintaining their badassery but being a bit more Barrett-focused, lasting a few months before it really became solely about Barrett. Bret Hart's departure and Bryan's firing may have affected the origininally planned angle (I'm not even sure of the real story behind Hart's leaving and being replaced by a computer), but then you can never really be sure.
