46% for me. Apparently about halfway through the story as well.
What a game

Gonna go out on a limb here and say this is better than Saints Row IV

I'm only 9% into the game. Spent about 4 hours so far doing this and that.
Michael's story has been killing me.
I feel so sorry for the guy.EDIT: Hahaha, just checked out crew member's stats. And I found this.

WTF have you been doing Sauru?

Unfortunately I haven't been able to play that much the last few days, I'm only on the 6th or 7th mission. I will say though that after going through some of the missions last night, this game has really improved. I'm still getting used to the controls (by instinct I want to RT to run, and pressed this button when I first got Michael...ended up accidentally punching a civilian, which led to me stealing a cop car and driving home)
This game is absolutely awesome, especially with the cinematic camera. Well worth the hype!

Much, much better than LC, at least these three guys are likeable too, I never like Niko. Trevor has got to be hands down my favorite, if I was a white tweaker, I'd be a Trevor.
Flying that god damn plane in to the open end of the cargo ship was a mohfucker though, I crashed like 3 times. I still don't like flying missions, controls seem so wonky.

only at 37%, starting to lag behind you guys now....

see i actually liked niko. i thought niko was hands down the best part of GTA iv. overall iv was fun but a bit of a let down but i loved the niko character. i originally thought that going to 3 characters would detach me too much from the characters but it didnt. so far i like both franklin and michael and i absolutely love the ability to switch between them. i have already drove over michael as franklin just for fun. its cool that when you run into each other that do acknowledge that they know each other. hell michael yelled at me before for stalking him
Sat Sep 21, 2013 11:21 pm
That's what I want to do, find the other two and steal their car.

i drove michael to franklins garage on grove street and wrecked his car so he would have to walk. i then switched to franklin and drove on over there to say hell. i followed mike for about 5 minutes listening to him tell me to stop stalking him. eventually i ran him over. he called me later to make me pay for the hospital bill. pretty fun stuff

I'm at like 20% - don't know how some of you are so far, but I haven't been rushing through it at all, and I haven't really played it much sober, but I've already clocked at least 15 hours. This game is blowing me away. Michael's probably my favorite character - his storyline is pretty funny.
Tried to sign up for Social Club this morning but the site wasn't working for me so I'll try later.

I haven't rushed through it, I've just been addicted to it. I've been home alone since Wednesday and had a long weekend. Give me about 6 hours of sleep and I've been playing pretty much the rest of the time. Yesterday I think I clocked in from 10 am to 3 pm then again at 11 pm till around 2 am?
If I didn't have to study this morning I would've played too, hopefully tonight!

I agree, I did not like Niko at all. Just didn't connect with the character and I thought it was a pretty generic character. It's part of the reason why I didn't like GTA IV that much

Didn't know you could do something like that. That's insane level of details.
Lamrock wrote:Michael's probably my favorite character - his storyline is pretty funny.
Same here though I didn't get to play Trevor yet.
Michael's probably a guy some of us in real life can relate to, in some senses. He worked hard to reach where he's at in his life for his family but none of his family don't give shit about him nor respect what he's done or who he is. Yet he loves and cares for them, going outta way to help and save them. Stubborn loving dad that don't know no better and deserve better. LoL. Yeah, in some ways he's pretty typical for a video game character.

So I've got all three the characters in the million dollar range, Michael even at 2+...anyone know what buildings to buy or which stocks to invest in which would help in furthering my financial growth? That country club property costs like 250 million.
By the way, has anyone tried blowing up opposing companies then investing in their competitors stocks? Does it help/do you see a big hike/dip?
Sun Sep 22, 2013 10:58 am
omfg, Trevor.... my favorite side mission/activity is BACK RAMPAGE its one of his Strangers & Freaks
Sun Sep 22, 2013 12:40 pm
Are you supposed to sell those stocks after a while? The stocks that rise after a mission seem to dip back down.
Sun Sep 22, 2013 2:44 pm
so i met someone today as i was driving around with Franklin. i could not be more happy to see this character return. forgive me if its been said already here, i am staying away from black boxes. anyway>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>packie is back baby

Pdub wrote:Are you supposed to sell those stocks after a while? The stocks that rise after a mission seem to dip back down.
Definitely. You buy low, sell high. Complete the mission and then wait for it to peak...don't get greedy (like I did after Debonaire) because then you'll sell at a loss.
Especially on the Lester missions...invest ALL the money (all three characters) in the stocks he suggests then watch it rise and keep up with it, once it slips a few %, sell all.At least that's what I did.

11% here. Just finished the first jewel heist.
The good about this game so far:
Graphics amazing
Map is big
Cutscenes are pretty good
Lamar is hilarious. "Hola, ese."
The missions are outstanding. LifeInvader invasion, planning a jewel heist, etc.
The bad:
The cops. I find it difficult to lose heat. This might be something I will get used to, but too much time is spent trying to shake cops off my tail.
The characters also won't shut up. I rescued Amanda from the cop car and proceeded to drive around Los Santos for about 30 minutes while the cops were coming after me. They just won't fuck off. And Amanda is in the back seat complaining every 5 seconds. I'M NO GOOD IF I'M DEAD. ARE YOU A MANIAC. After that mission was done, though, I turned on the police siren just for the lulz. "You're not a kid! Turn that off!" "I married a manchild."
Mon Sep 23, 2013 12:45 am
Think 'hide' instead of 'run' when dealing with the police. Look for small alleyways. If you're on the highway drive into the city.
Personally I welcome not completely retarded cops for once.
It is a bit tedious if you just wanna switch to Trevor and already have a two star wanted level though.
Mon Sep 23, 2013 1:32 am
yea, but if you switch cars and get your little arrow darkened in the minimap, then you can drive right in front of cops in their cone of view, as long as you pass by and dont sit there/do anything reckless.
or evidently you can hide in a fucking bush
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvEp11B83wMPolice helis and the windfarm? brb, gotta go have fun doing something

Actually it's easier for me than in previous games. I bought Need For Speed Most Wanted last year and it's a very similar concept where you lose the cops and get them into "search mode" where they have cones around their dots on the map and then you pull into an alley or parking structure, basically anywhere they can't spot you and wait it out.
