Actually, you should be able to play any PS3 games on any PS3 console. It's only the Blue-ray movies that doesn't work in different regions.

Well, i just played one of the weirdest games of 2K7 ever on current-gen.
Me and a friend randomised, I got Warriors, he got Mavs, so of course, I'm running Nellie's fast-break. He gets the lead early by shooting pretty well, basically giving it off to Dirk who shoots madly and makes quite a few. Baron Davis was pure ownage, he made some crazy dunks (one a spread-eagled free-throw line dunk over Jet). Because my friend was a little too enthusiastic to block me, I went to the free-throw line about 30 times during one half (8 minute quarters.) The problem is, I was something like 11-of-21 because of the crappy free-throw system (perfect releases nearly all the time still results in bad percentages), and after that, I just pushed the stick back for a moment for a bad release, and started making free throw after free throw. Dirk fouled out, Dampier had four, Terry had four, but then we stopped at half-time with it being about 80 each.

Damn, I thought the 2K7 thread disappeared. Then again, I was in a rush.

2k's dedication to simulating the NBA game is really on another level, and it shows in the smooth and realistic animations. Almost everything just seems to be in context. After all these years, I think it has less to do with EA being lazy, but rather being less talented than 2k. Even with a much bigger budget and the biggest motion capture studio in the world, 2k still manages to, IMO, outdo EA every single year.
Tue Sep 25, 2007 2:27 pm
Cause EA has people workin on the game who don't even watch basketball

if it wasn't already clear from what Andreas said, there is no region protection on PS3 so you'll be able to play any version of 2k8 in China....
I'll probably import a US copy of the game when College Hoops 2k8 is released in early November....

It's OFFICIAL, after years of being a loyal Live fan, I've decided to convert to 2k8 this year. I played the demo's of both games and even with the glitches found in the 2k demo, it's just better than Live. It has a more authentic and realistic feel. They also got rid of "my dreded Iso-Motion" which was my biggest problem with the game.
I will be purchasing NBA 2k8 this season.

NBA 2K8 It's Like That! Video!
LOL @ "Kobe goin' for 101" and "Oh hes gettin' Hyphy!"

Killer videos
I loved the "2008 NBA Finals" vid, the commentary was just so good. Was the commentary made specially for these vids

I find in 2k8 that the courts are too short and crowded no room to dribble. None of these games are perfect. Every player in 2k have THE SAME GENRIC CROSSOVERS. When i played LIVE08 they had like 5 different crossovers anmiations. In 2k Tim Duncan crossovers just as
fast as Tony Parker. In Live Tim Duncan actually feels like he has weight
when u play with him.

I must admit, I love the soundtrack posted on their site aswell.

The man to man animations are really sweet in the "It's Like That" videos. I like how the defense responds quickly.

Anyone know when they will release the roster? The game comes out in 5 days. Usually IGN has the rosters with ratings up by now. Thinking about picking it up, but i also want to see what the bucks roster looks like. Hopefully Yi looks like Yi and is on their roster.

I really want to know why anybody would buy NBA live 08.
Since I am not a owner of an Xbox 360, I was always playing live no matter how weak it was. But seeing Vids and reading facts and your experiences, I think 2k8 is about 10 times better at least.
It looks so good, the animations, the whole atmosphere on and off the court.
I am really thinking about getting a 360 and 2k8. When youre used to live for PC, 2k8 looks like the best thing ive ever seen in my life when it comes to basketball sims.
Still there are a lot of guys around here who say the gonna buy live 08!
Why ?? And do you think its worth the money to buy the 360 and 2k8 ? .. I mean its kinda expensive.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too, but fortunately, my girlfriend wants Halo 3 and BioShock, so with those additional games, I think it's definitely worth getting. If you're going to buy a 360 and 2K8, it's probably a good investment if you're considering getting other games as well to go with the system. I think people buys Live 08 on PC because they have no other choice, but to buy Live 08 on the 360... I don't know why people would do that, either.

I played the 2k8 demo today on ps3, and I'm very unimpressed.
It just feels like you don't have control over everything, everything looks un-aliased but in live 08 demo it looks smooth, animations except dunks are smoother in live demo, tim duncan is unstoppable and I put down 25 points with him with 90% FG percentage, on the other side the cavs absolutely suck.
I think I may buy live 08 this year, 2k8 demo doesn't appeal to me as much as the live one.
