Spain did not play at their level but still a great match (Y)
I'm surprised by the Trabelsi guy from Tunisia ...where does he play?

Tue Jun 20, 2006 7:42 am

Spain had a nice finish to the game (y) The goalie sort of screwed up on that failed rush-out though still a very nice goal.

^ Trabelsi plays in Ajax and has apparently been linked to several large European clubs in the recent weeks/months..
Though I must say I hadn't heard of him either until their first game.. Great player none the less.

For a goal to be scored, the ball must cross the line ENTIRELY, yet if you shift the ball down to see if the ball crossed the line entirely, you see that the ball did not cross the line entirely. ERGO, no goal.

I realize it is a Korean site, so you might consider it biased. But I'm just saying it wasn't that clear of a goal.

You have to consider that the picture they put doesnt have to be where the ball was farthest in the goal, they put the angle they feel like putting to make their best case. Also the computer generated images doesnt look very accurate. The shot where they had them side by side showed that the goal posts werent even parraled in both pics yet the goalie and the ball were exactly the same. I hope thats clear.

Anywyas, if you need a microscope to declare it wasnt a goal then to the human eye it should have been called as such since it wasnt blatantly obvious.

You can say the exact opposite though. If you're not 100% sure it's a goal, how can you call it a goal? Anyhow, refs are part of the game. So bleah. FIFA isn't going to change their opinion.

If it is so minutely not a goal there is no way the human eye should be able to see that. It would be 99% more likely they didnt. Its like saying 1 centimicrominimeter was still on the goal line (discounting the pic because I believe its not reliable).

Tue Jun 20, 2006 11:24 am

I read in an article that in the next World Cup there will be a new ball with a microchip that sends a message to the ref's watch when it passes the goal line. It's right now being tested in Adidas labs.
Anyways, as for the thing of the 4th man watching the tv for eventual wrong calls, I don't think that we'll see it until Blatter leaves FIFA's presidency.

Tue Jun 20, 2006 11:25 am

I remember some news of it being used a some tournament recently, I'll have to check that out.

Tue Jun 20, 2006 1:46 pm

it'd be a good idea.

France in trouble though.....Togo are a good team.

Wed Jun 21, 2006 12:46 am

Klose 2 - Ecuador 0 :(

Wed Jun 21, 2006 2:01 am

Whenever one of the commentators or postgame show people (who SUCK btw) say "and it wasn't even Klose", I wanna slit my throat.

Wed Jun 21, 2006 2:27 am

i turned on the TV yesterday and saw Tunisia 1 x 0 Spain and i was like wtf they win 4-0 Ukraine but cant win Tunisia.. The game was boring that time so i turned it off. When i came back later and it was 3-1 i was like wtf again LoL

good game by Germany today too..

Wed Jun 21, 2006 2:43 am

I'm surprised Germany beat them handily. Oh well. Maybe theyll meet again...unlikely though.

Wed Jun 21, 2006 2:49 am

yeap Poland won at last. Honour saved, now we can go home...
I think Joe Cole's goal was the greatest till now.

Wed Jun 21, 2006 9:27 am

Wow...what a goal by Joe Cole today  Well, his name's Joe, so I'm not surprised at all
Anyways, I didn't expect Sweden to tie the game, after the tie with T&T and the desperated 1-0 win against Paraguay. They finally played good football.

I think Joe Cole's goal was the greatest till now

I think it was a great goal but...Cambiasso's goal against Serbia was just amazing. There were like 20 passes before the shot and that's what makes the goal unique.

If you have Mozilla Firefox, just go to http://www.mozilla.com/add-ons/jogacompanion and you'll get a bar in the Firefox browser with the final results of the last 5 games or something like that. (Y) (Y)

yeah but he loses points for looking like a child molester & rapist.

Argentina v Holland is the big one tonight.

Last night 3 Polish players scored a total of 5 goals.....too bad 3 of those goals were for Germany :x

There have been some hot shots of women watching the tournament. I should post them as I see them.

Anyways, just got home from work an I'm a bit surprised Argentina vs Netherlands hasnt produced a goal. They have 20 more minutes so maybe we will see something.

I gotta say that I am liking Babel's (NETH) game. I first heard of him from Jae's FM thingy and he really looks like a quality striker. Hope to see good things from him in the future.
