yeah i'm not a big fan of koscheck especially with him faking injuries during his last two fights but he won me money on his last fight so i can't really complain too much. before the show, it was pretty obvious gsp is the nice guy and koscheck is the d-bag and the show confirmed it.

I watched the fight in the bar tonight. As you know I live in Canada, so all people in the bar were chanting GSP.
Not the greatest fight, but definitely had fun mainly because GSP owned Koscheck's ass so bad. Koscheck just couldn't do anything against GSP.

That was the sickest kick I have ever seen in mma. Fitting end to the WEC. Every single card over the last few years has been great.
SHOWTIME!

that was awesome

Lolz... my brother actually teaches that kick regularly at his training gym. Great for demonstration events. First time seeing it used in MMA matches though.
Anyways, 12/31... Alistair Overeem VS Todd Duffee in Japan. GOTTA BE A MATCH YOU SHOULDN'T MISS... unless Todd fails to get a visa.
Sun Jan 02, 2011 4:53 am
Alistair Overeem finished Todd Duffee in like 30 seconds yesterday. Todd Duffee apparently wasn't ready for this type of fight. If he had more time to prepare, the fight could have been better... oh well.
Another great year for Overeem anyways. Wonder if he can keep it up this year.

Antonio Silva beats Fedor.
After a close first round bout, Silva took control in round 2. After passing to mount, he unleashed a barrage of ground and pound that ultimately caused Fedor's right eye to swell shut. Ringside doctors called a stop to the fight, stating that Fedor could not see and they would not allow him to continue.
After the fight, Fedor implied that he may retire. “Yes, maybe, it’s the last time. Maybe it’s high time. Thanks for everything. I spent a great beautiful long sport life. Maybe it’s God’s will,” said Fedor about his possible retirement while still in the cage.
Sun Feb 13, 2011 9:04 pm
By no mean, Silva is a weak fighter, but I expected Fedor to come out a winner without a doubt.

Overeem vs Josh Barnett final would still be a nice treat though.
This fight also confirmed that Fedor is a has-been. Velasquez should now be at the top of most peoples' rank.
Sun Feb 13, 2011 11:19 pm
that proves that A) Fedor was all hype. or B) Fedor doesn't give a shit anymore about winning. either way, Strikeforce wasted a lot of money on this guy.

BEST UFC in like recent years. Leben, Condit, Ortiz knock out Wanderei, Kim, Bader respectively all in first round. I feel bad for Wanderei as he's pretty much done. Condit doesn't really deserve it but gets to fight GSP. Ortiz is back and ready. California kid needed to be more aggressive. Overall, was awesome.

Anyone see the Velasquez v Dos Santos match? Pretty anti-climactic considering the amount of hype it got!
Sun Nov 13, 2011 7:34 pm
Definitely anticlimactic just like the Lesnar-Velasquez fight.
I don't think Dana White is happy with this also because there is absolutely no interesting reason for a rematch.
Sun Nov 13, 2011 7:40 pm
Apparently Dana basically shit on both of the fighters on the Fox broadcast, said Cigano's cardio sucked and Cain had no gameplan. Pretty dumb move by him, if Lesnar/Overeem can't beat JDS he's going to have to turn the hype machine up to 10 to make up for it with the mainstreamers.
Sun Nov 13, 2011 9:32 pm
The way it ended was alright. I'd rather see a fight end with a flurry knockout rather than that wrestling/submission bullshit (boring to watch), but the fight just was over way too quick. I thought Velasquez would've won but he did look kinda nervous, and he got caught off guard. Perhaps the hype machine distracted him a bit?
Sun Nov 20, 2011 8:17 am
well i dunno how it was in australia but the card really wasn't hyped up that much here aside from Fox promoting it on TV Sundays during football. i live in anaheim and couldve gone if i hadnt had tickets to a concert in LA that night but it wasnt even promoted heavily locally. i think it was also made worse by the fact that tonight will be like the 7th card in the past 2 months. too many cards to promote, so little time.
Sun Nov 20, 2011 1:07 pm
Here it was hyped as the biggest UFC fight ever. Literally.

Holy mother of balls did anyone see the Shogun vs Henderson fight?
Mon Nov 21, 2011 1:57 am
I was at the bar with my buddy watching UFC. Easily it was one of the most memorable UFC matches.
Undercards were disappointing but Faber VS Bowles, Cung vs Wanderlei and of course Shogun vs Hendo were all FUCKING awesome.
Mon Nov 21, 2011 5:44 am
yeah it was a shame Cung Le lost. he's representing for the brothas but it did look like the ref stepped in a bit too early
